Bro. Best how to video I’ve ever seen. Amazing. I just bought an 89 Marathon and need to do the brakes. I have total confidence I can knock this out. Thank you!
I play at a course that has recently purchased all new EZGO golf carts with the electronic automatic brake. And I'm very impressed how easily it works. With this new EZGO golf cart you're braking just to slow down and you don't have to lock the brakes on a hill becuz it locks the brakes automatically. It's a joy to ride goes over cart paths that have been invaded by large rooted trees and handles holes in the course very well. And I own a 1990 EZGO electric Marathon that I'll be changing the brakes on soon so thanks for putting this up!
Hi Kevin! Great channel! I noticed that the adjuster on the driver side didn't have what I call a slip washer behind it the passenger side did, that could be why it was way out of adjustment, not to mention the last guy that worked on it. I'm a light mechanic at a local 9 hole course semi retired now and I really enjoy this channel! You're approach on diagnosing and repairing carts is helping me out alot as well as saving me time in the end. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos it's very much appreciated!
Excellent. I just rebuilt the entire electric system between the accelerator and the motor on an 87 Marathon. I think I did ok for a counter man. Wish I'd had a definitive guide like this, but unfortunately there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Brakes are next, then suspension. Thank you sirs.
All is well. There have been some medical issues within the family that I needed to tend to along with work. I haven't had any time to spend making videos because of this. Soon I hope to have some up.
I need help I change the brakes in my 2012 ezgo txt adjusted the cable to where the parking brake will engage but when I’m driving I push on the brakes doesn’t stop immediately. Looks like my passenger brake cable longer then driver side
Do enjoy your channel, very, informative hands on and easy to understand how to apply to what I am working on. I got 3 Workhorses from my club (Good bones), but they need re-wired. have you done a video showing how the correct wiring for a pre mci cart? I have tried to find a good diagram on-line, really only finding parts diagram, not repair diagram. I'm a gearhead/muscle car guy, and would like to see something like a Chilton's type wiring diagram or an awesome video from you.
I don't really get into doing videos on diagrams. The wiring on these are very simple. Its just multiple switches in series and some ignition components. I'm not familiar with Chilton's type wiring diagrams.
Kevin I have a 2004 EZGO TxT. I have cleaned the Carb and replaced the fuel pump. I was getting fuel in the hose from the motor that has the air pumping. I changed all that and the oil and fuel about 4 months ago. And spark plug. It ran like a champ then. It has been sitting since then as I’ve installed new led light harness etc. today It started right up and I drove it down the road a couple miles, then it slowed down and started popping and back fire. Any Ideas? Oh And I put fuel additive in it 4 months ago as well. Thanks for any Ideas. The air hose to pump is pumping a little fuel! ThankYou Kevin!
Hi Kevin, Is there a certain type of brake pads you recommend for a 2004 EZGO TXT gas. Also I bought my cart with a Jakes lift kit on it and when I go over a hill, the steering shaft comes out of the gear sleeve. Is there a part or something I can use to fix this issue? Thank You sir! You do a great job.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts ok thank you I just purchased a 1991 ez go 36v first project is the brakes then going to install HD leaf springs and replace the batteries
@@Kevinsgolfcarts we've been chasing it for a while, once it gets hot it barely runs the engine is rebuilt and everything is in spec. It fills up the air box with fuel after a couple minutes, new red hawk carburetor. And it will only run with the green wire off the voltage regulator.

Hi Kevin the top spring goes behind the shoes it. Keeps the shoes in alignment
Great job Kevin as usual!
Love your vids
A lawnmower trailer I bought from TSC had the lug nuts installed backwards with the taper out.
Bing watching all your videos Kevin, Hope you are well Kevin. Thank you again for this assume channel

Can you do one on adjusting the governor on a 2005 EzGo gas TXT?
When can you make more videos?
Great job! Kevin I learned what I was looking for.
Glad it was helpful!
Also can you tell me in your opinion, who makes the best brake pads for a 2004 EZGO TXT gas cart? Thanks Kevin hope all is well.

Hi Kevin - I have a 1998 Yamaha Gas G16A, wondering how to check, top up or change rear differential fluid.
What is torque value for the hub nut? Thanks for sharing. It is a help!
Depends on what year, make and model cart you have. they are not all the same.
HI KEVIN, WHAT IS THE TORQUE ON THE CASTLE NUT?
So Kevin, how did you keep the wheel from moving when you torqued them?
I put on 1 or 2 lug nuts and use a long pry bar to hold back on the drum.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR BRAKE CABLES FOR MARATHON CARTS?
Thanks for the great video. What size socket did you use for the castle nut?
Torque specs?

Why do you have to adjust the brakes so tight?
They really aren't that tight. I set them this way so when they recenter behind the drum, the brake pedal will respond better.

I have a question is it normal for a 1998 E-Z-Go txt to be slow up hills
This will depend on the number of passengers, weight, cargo, hill grade, drive belt condition, clutch condition, governor tuning, etc
It is electric it drives good on flat ground but when you go up hills it slows down to walking speed I checked the batteries and they're good
If its 36 volt, then they are inherently slow. 48 volt carts are much stronger and faster.
@@Kevinsgolfcarts okay thank you it is a 36 volt I just bought the golf cart and I didn't know if it was normal for them to be slow uphill
How much do you charge for diagnostics? im local.
Depends on the cart and issue.
