The best part is it was right there in front of everyone from the first time both characters were shown.
It’s a small thing, but the manga writer puts a lot of their characters stories into their appearance. You tend to look back and go “Oh that makes sense why they look/dress like that”.

But Giyu never was Tanjiro's master, it was Urokudaki. Giyu is just Tanjiro's senior in the same techniques. But Shinobu is Kanao's master.

Shinobu was more straightforward like Aoi in the butterfly mansion before Kanae died. But after Kanae was gone the mansion became Shinobu's responsibility, and she wanna be like Kanae, the gentle, always smiling big sister of hers for other girls in the mansion. So she chose to hide all the anger inside.

there will be spoilers in what I will say next arguably heavy spoilers
the earliest appearance we've seen of her was around 460 years before the current events when Yoriichi confronted Muzan (so she's atleast that old) at that point Muzan was already around 540 (deduced from Kokushibo's current age and how old Muzan is now) but it took Tamayo some time after becoming a demon to regain her sens of self and slowly break free from Muzan's control although it is unknown how long it took her to do that but I'd be surprised if she had been alive for centuries before that under Muzan's oppression until Yoriichi saved her indirectly by making Muzan run away then sparing her , it is more logical to think Muzan started creating more demons not very long after his transformation
great episode. i love how emotional it was, not only because of Giyū, but that short scene with Shinobu too. and yeah, you read that right! as we know from s1, Shinobu just hides that she's angry all the time and puts on a façade. i love how this episode like central message is that you shouldn't try to ignore or control your emotions. there are moments when you _need_ to be vulnerable. it's a pretty "simple" message, but also pretty cool to include, especially in a shōnen. loved your reaction, Alana! can't wait for the next!

2:35 I know you said come into contact with Tanjiro's ancestors, and that was a point from the previous season that a lot of people were confused about. The long haired swordsman shown in the flashback here with the mark is the guy the training dummy tanjiro fought last season was modeled after. That guy is NOT his ancestor, but was someone that did come into contact with Tanjiro's ancestors way back (shown in a flashback in previous season), and is probably when Tanjiro's family learned the Hinokami Kagura dance that Tanjiro's dad taught him. But yes, Tamayo used to work with Muzan before she became a fugitive, and seems to have been alive all the way back when the swordsman was alive as well.

Not a spoiler the swordsman, everyone keeps thinking is tanjiro ancestor. Has nothing to do with his bloodline. He protected them when they were attacked by demons. Season three episode one tanjiros flashback in his coma

If you remember, in Mugen Train, Tanjiro has such a pure heart. His earnestness affects people in a positive way.
I also think that rooftop meeting in Season 1 between Tanjiro and Shinobu is important.
2:34 Not his ancestor. If you remember episode 1 of season 3 you'll see Tanjiro's ancestor looked exactly like Tanjiro and they were talking about the swordsman being the one who saved them from demons.

I've noticed a lot of reactors aren't piecing together what Shinobu is angry/upset about, and I'm not sure there going to explicitly explain it in the anime (it wasn't explicitly explained in the manga), but in an episode in season 1, Shinobu says she hates demons; she can't empathize with their suffering like her sister and Tanjiro can. But now she has to work closely with a demon. Shinobu doesn't know what we viewers know about Tamayo. She only really knows that Tamayo's a demon so she wants nothing to do with her. But she has to work with her.

If episode 1 was close to feeling like filler, then this episode definitely felt like it..
This arc is really not too interesting overall.. but I'm enduring it because I stumbled across some very interesting things about the seasons after this one..
One of the best aspects of Kimetsu no Yaiba is how much relatable these characters become, in terms of real life. To be honest, I didn’t really liked Tomioka Giyu, not because of his demeanour, but for his constant tendency of making himself look like a lone wolf. But, after watching his backstory, as well as his pains regarding to the death of Sabito and his elder sister, Tsutako and my experiences in the last 2-3 years, I realised that he is somewhat related to me, whether I appreciate this fact or not. That's what make Kimetsu no Yaiba so great, as an anime.
I think the scenes where Giyu touches his cheeks and Sabito slaps Giyu in the same cheeks are somewhat of a foreshadowing of his astounding transformation in the future arc.
Furthermore, the ending song was probably the weakest among all the endings of this entire series till this date, at least what I think so. It kind of gave a really creepy vibe to me, like something out from a horror anime, which I didn’t really appreciate a lot...😒
Also, firstly, apologies for this fact but if you don't mind Alana-san, you should reconsider watching Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu. If the opening act really provoked you to think that this series ultimately gone through the way as the opening act, then I would have to say, you might have misjudged the overall story. It was arguably one of the most sweetest animes in the last 10 years, and also one of the ones that can definitely give you a diabetes, just by watching them. The confession scene at the end of the season 2 was so sweet, that I literally burst into tears! If you still don't believe these facts, Season 1 has a rating of 8.26 in MAL, where season 2 has an astonishing 8.87 (Rating like these don’t come really often, in terms of Rom-com Animes)!
So, I hope that one day you would watch this series, and I also like to watch your reaction on it.
