man, the mindset that i have rn at 21 i wish i had when i was 17. at that age i was just focused on the wrong shit. now that im 21 i see things so differently now and how shit works. how a 9-5 is making bigger people richer, how school just make you go more into debt. but im gonna start now for the life that i want for myself !

So many good points! I too have never owned certain new items when they first came out like AirPods. I remember when I got my first & only set & I was excited, I remember someone saying “ oh, those are first GEN!” And I got them discounted on prime day two and I was proud about that! Even now the one ear piece has trouble charging but not getting rid of them and buying new just to throw money at something. Same goes for my iPhone I have never bought the current edition that’s out. I don’t see the point where I’ve always bought a refurbished one. Not a rich girl YET. I know one day I will get there. Thanks for all your content!

I have a question though. I know things about shopify or creating a book in canvas and selling it on amazon. However, nobody tells you how hard it is to be able to get your book or products out there. Sometimes you also have to pay for your item to be on the top search list. Can you maybe make a video on how you perhaps work on your market? Do you really have to pay for your item to be on the top search or can you just hustle to it? Thank you :)

You seem to be confused, that’s not at all what she said. She said, don’t restrict spending money just to let it lose its value in a savings account. Instead invest that money into things that will make you even more money. Don’t get a second job, hourly pay is the least effective and slowest way to earn money. Essentially don’t earn money to spend it, earn money to make yourself earn even more.

My thing is, we should not have to have several streams of income, we should be able to have a substantial source of income from one source without having to do low quality, volatile side incomes that largely depend on someone else evem wanting to buy from you in the first place. People should be able to work whatever job thry want and have it fund their lifestyle, instead of working to fund a millionares lifestyle. It's easy to say "start a buisness" or "start a youtube channel" but thousands of people do this everyday while having good ideas and a good mindset and it goes nowhere. And I will NEVER become a landlord or a dropshipper 🤢🤮

All these UA-camrs promoting easy side hustles try to sell dreams in order to get views or funnel you into their courses their paid advertisers. I don't know if the figures match in the UK but in America, most first-time businesses fail. According to ChatGTP, "Approximately 20% of small businesses fail within the first year.
By the end of the second year, 30% of businesses will have failed.
50% of small businesses fail after five years.
Approximately 65% of small businesses fail by their tenth year in business.
22% of small businesses fail within the first year.
32% fail within the first two years.

Get at least 1,000 dollars saved up, and put it into a Certificate of Deposit (CD). Now, you’ll want to see what banks have a good Appreciation value (APY) for their CDs. For the sake of inflation, it has to be above 2%, cause that’s generally what I estimate inflation to be under normal circumstances. Once you put money into a CD you cannot touch it, or risk penalty charges.
Money will grow month by month in there, and do something called “compound interest”. Meaning, the money earned in interest gets its OWN interest. Banks have different rates for CDs depending on time. 9month, 12, 5, etc.. I’d go for a 9 month if it’s better than 12, but never do 5 because it doesn’t really get you anything even if interest is HUGE like 5%.
After the period is done, put another minimum of 1,000 in there. And use an online CD calculator (bankrate.com). For example, an APY of 4.50% for 9 months will only generate 1,000 during that time if you put 20-35k. Basing this off memory.
For the time that you’re a minor, I think this is worth it if you do it well. My mom hasn’t since I was an infant and that CD still has 2,000 and I’m 22. Use that 2% rule.
CD is zero risk, but if rates improve while your CD is active, you can’t change the APY already established.
Later on you can dabble in risky investments, but start off learning about zero risk, then low risk. Natural progression may be for you to open an IRA for early retirement, if you can pay it regularly. Never touch money you’re growing for CD unless it’s going into a retirement savings.

I appreciate the advice you’ve given here otherwise, and I don’t say this as hate, but it really bothers me when I hear people talk about using the most basic of survival needs as a tool for their own gain. Homes are not "assets". Yes, it makes you a lot of money, and that’s great, but lives are on the line when you treat shelter as a passive source of income. The cost of living crisis you keep referring to also includes the housing crisis. Have some sympathy for the people who don’t have the financial literacy under their belt to get out of their situations like you can. Not every can beat poverty, otherwise we’d have no working class to hire for cheap. It’s not their fault this country is designed to make some people succeed and most people toil for the rest of their lives.

I started my photography business 2 years ago but haven’t put the time into it because I was in survival mode. I spent my 20s traumatized, disabled, and impoverished. My 30s will not be the same. Exactly how long did it take you to understand that? Because I have been doing everything I can to profit from this bear market for the last 7 months, after watching a lot of trading videos and reading a lot of strategy and technical analysis books and still having nothing to show for it, I am slowly leaning towards the idea that I'm incredibly unlucky in trading, plus I should be retiring in a few months, so any advice would be good, and yes, I've tried getting a CFA as well, but it's hard to find one that really understands the full gamut of the different sections. , I'm very open-minded and if I can't have it all then there's no point if you know what I mean.

It would be great if you could help me.

I've been watching finance videos for years and you hit on some of the key pillars others like to tiptoe around.
    1. You can only budget what you have. If you don't make 50k (expendable), you can't save 50k. Eventually you just have to make more money.
    2. Invest somehow. It's the only way to not trade time for money.
    3. Treat yourself with stuff you ACTUALLY care about. If you love perfume, get one. But if you only kind of like home decor, keep shopping for furniture at Ross regardless of the influencers at CB2. That CB2 money is better spent on Ross AND your future.
    4. It's okay to not get rich tomorrow. Retiring even a year early means a whole YEAR that you don't have to work. The sooner the better but don't get discouraged if you're not yet a 30 under 30 candidate

Thanks for all these amazing tips Tam! I knew a lot of these but needed to be reminded. My goal for 2024 is to get a passive income source up and running, and finish paying off my student loans (less than 4K to go!). I have already begun investing and just increased my monthly amount. For years I’ve been using my credit card for all purchases and I just opened the account with my existing bank account so it is super easy to go online and I just pay it off every time I update my budget (usually every other week). I usually get about $50 cash back each month from my credit card - not a ton but it adds up and is literally free money just for paying for the stuff I’d be buying anyway with a different piece of plastic. Now I need to get smarter about what I do with that money!

I know my mom is VERY intellegent with her money. She has no mortgages on our house when she bought it.
    What she could have done
Is invest that 15k into a rental house and fixed it up so she could be making back 2k+ a month.
And in a year she would have made it all back. And in five years She could buy and brand new tesla and maybe another one.

    Make more money
Have it grow for you while you sleep
Be smart with your financial decisions
Build the mindset of a millionaire:
Overtime work and reduce spending? No
Save into bk acct is money wasted. Rich stay rich by spending not saving. Inflation not good when money sits. Invest it, to sllow it to grow, saving smarter, Circulating.
Cut back expenses no but redirect from unnecessary items to financial books, literacy, courses.
Penny piching habits = scarcity mindset that theres a lack, youll never have enough.
Shift from saving to making money
Guilt for buying healthy food vs fuel your body with healthy food, gym membership.
Worst financial decision is working xtra for someone else bcse you r Trading time for money. When cant show up not making money. Plus taxes will reduce it. Build a passive income source instead.

Probably the best financial advice I’ve heard in a summary. I’ve heard a few things before but never thought about the down side of getting an extra job. This is good stuff thank you for sharing babe !

Yay!! You're amazing! I've literally been telling myself everyday for 2 weeks. "I'm going to be financially responsible" over and over again. Yet I was still spending money in places that were not necessary. Today on my lunch break I was looking up hot to set up a savings account for my kids and called my brother to ask his advice and he was like "dont even get a savings account; inflation is real and the interest rate isnt even enough to make it worth it." Then I typed How to be financially responsible into my UA-cam.. && there you were ❤ showering me with motivation, knowledge, and all the words of encouragement i needed to hear! Thank you so much, you're a blessing🤑

I have started a digital product business but the thing is I am not getting clients. I create printables and e-books with sellable rights. Is there anybody interested?

Hey guys I need some advice:
So I'm planning to study in a different country but I would need to take an education loan for that. A part of me is ok with that cause it will be helping me to actually build the life I want but a part of me is scared as what If I won't be able to pay it off.
I just want to know is it worth it?
