I have a 2021 Craftsman T240 with Kohler KT725 22 horsepower 725cc V Twin Engine after 20 hours I switched over to Castrol advanced full Synthetic oil my tractor loves it
"There goes a T-rex through the engine " I laughed pretty hard at that lol. It's funny cuz I just watched a video on oil and that's what they called it
This was interesting . I was given a SAE30 to use in a honda walk behind mower . Would you recommend a synthetic for that ? If so what weight would you recommend ? 10-30 ??? Nice video
In Canada we use synthetic for different reasons than you. Especially in hand start snowblowers and vehicles. It's because it doesn't thicken up in the cold and engines turn over with less effort.
Where I live, the climate is around 21 to 31 degrees Celsius, therefore using full synthetic oils is a waste of money when these engines could accommodate easily to monograde sae 40
I use Dino oil because of the dust and dirt that my Kawasaki engines mow in.Oil gets dirty the same if it’s synthetic or Dino.I change my oil and filter around 50 hours residential use.I also pull the air shroud and clean the head cooling fins around 100 hours to blow out grass and dirt and possibly a mouse nest.To keep the engine running cool.I do run synthetic in my other equipment like generator, pressure washer etc. Also in my car and truck.I feel in lawn equipment using Dino oil and changing often and also keeping the air filter and head cooling fins clean are more important then synthetic or Dino.
In Florida all engine manufacturer's recommend 50 hr oil change with Kawasaki oils or Kohler oils Amsoil makes oil not Kawasaki or Kohler it's good for at least 100 hrs in 5w30. 10w30 10w40 and 15w50 it depends on where you live and how cold it is look at the API cart for your exact oil recommendation 😉😉
It's not clever to do extended drain intervals on these engines. I would rather use mineral oils and shorten the interval to 25 hrs or 6 months, whatever comes first
For some reason your videos are entertaining as crap hope you see 2022 mowers at lowes at Home Depot videos when those come in and a new review on that echo 2620t after all the years 👍🏻
I totally did not believe that until I decided to run full synthetic in my old 1999 Suburban. It immediately started leaking like a sieve from the rear main seal, the pan, valve cover gaskets, and timing chain cover. Shell Rotela full synthetic 5w30! LOL. Went back to good old STP conventional and in a few weeks, everything stopped leaking. ...at least enough that there were no spots on the driveway.
Is it ok to mix red line ZDDP with Liqui Moly 10/30 universal oil. I'm in the UK and can't get Amsoil small engine oil. I have a Vanguard 37 EFI? Thanks
My briggs and stratton splash and crash oil engine, no oil filter, I have + or - 50hrs, I changed oil every 10 hrs. Of cheap tractor supply County line 30w small engine oil and my engine, might cost 1/2 or more cheaper than synthetic, Now if it had a oil pump ,oil filter, then I would use synthetic.
That's a good idea. Besides that, slash engines are ancestral and don't need synthetic oils to work but they do need mineral engine oils and mineral engine oils have good dispersant which could act like engine flush and they are cheaper. For my generator, I use Shell Rimula R4X 15w40 , which is a diesel engine oil formulated for severe duty on and off road engines
My Champion generator manual says to use 10w30 "car oil". My generator does not self-identify as a car. It does not have a car engine on it. I have to conclude that this is bad advice. it's a hot running, high RPM, heavily loaded air-cooled engine. I use Valvoline VR1 racing oil. 10w30 in the winter and 20w50 in the other seasons. 540 RAT is an oil engineer and that was his recommendation. So far no problems.
Who u talking too lol. You make stupid comments. Just your opinion. Which literally no one watching cares about. So I will say, this guy makes stupid arse comments.
I've used Kawasaki oil 20w50 semi synthetic oil for years I've used Amsoil 10w30 small engine oil for years Kawasaki lasts for 50 hrs Amsoil for 100 hrs take your pick Amsoil small engine oil 20w50 has a 200 hr interval take your pick 😁😁😁😁
so you done an oil analysis at said hour intervals? If not you cant know how long each will last. Florida is 20-50 or 10-40 As indicated in your engine manual. Goes by temp. I have ran every brand for decades in small engines, cars etc. Never had a problem with any. Just do maintained as stated in the manual of your engine.
Also remember sn API rating oil is for automobiles not air cooled engines Kawasaki and Amsoil oils are made for air cooled engines because they zinc SN oils have no zinc because they won't pass emissions standards SJ or SL rated oils are Kawasaki Kohler and Amsoil 👍
Used traditional oil for decades in many mowers. All were fine. Sometimes its more of a sales tactic. if you want zinc use high mileage automotive oil.
U gonna burn thru oil lile crazy with that then crap in a wir cooled engine that synthetic crap destroys engines look i got cars from the 90s 300000 miles on my 95 gmc still runs like new the new synthic only engines yea lifter tic rod knock blown engines in trucks cars only a few years old the oil may last longer but these engins made for it dont
Great video! I agree, I think full synthetic is a better options. Even use full synthetic in my hydro system to.
I misjudge- your video at the beginning but after 5 minutes, you really got my attention. Great Video Brother 💯

ive got a kohler 725cc im wanting to use a cheaper synthetic other than kohler brand oil. just not sure if i should or not
I use 100% synthetic amsoil. Got 550,000 miles on my car no leaks. N my lawnmowers have lasted 15-20 years

i use 10w40 Castrol GTX in all my small engines
Great video thanks for making it. Like the rest of the people commenting, I agree.
Rotella 5w-40!!!!! The Best❤

i agree
What weight do you use in your mowers?
I use 10 30 full synethetic& also i change every 50 hrs . Filters also . Chicken grease
Hope all is well brother!!
High mileage oil will swell seals...that's why some leak after switching back from high mileage oil..
I use 20w50 v twin oil.

Yes it’s ok to mix using mfg rec mix ratio of zddp per qt oil.
Does your mower uses oil because of synthetic oil?
I use castrol edge 5w30 synthetic tractor 14 years old no issues
Good to know, about to do first oil change on my tractor. Bought some 5W30 Castrol GTX for it
Read the book! lol Dinosaur oil LOVE IT!

This guy talks a lot to get to the point
Who u talking too lol. You make stupid comments. Just your opinion. Which literally no one watching cares about. So I will say, this guy makes stupid arse comments.
You are correct 😅 I fully expect an angry reply 😆
Yeah imagine making a 16 minute video to just say use synthetic oil. And he got in his feeling when someone says something about it. 🤦🏻♂️🤣
I think a good group 3's as far as you need to go TBH.
👌🏻👌🏻

For me I use castrol gtx magnatec 10w30 full synthetic in all my mowers.
Most synthetic oil's are just refined mineral.

Mobil 1 only
Mee to. I find that it works better than any other oil I've used thus far in my lawn mowers.
Full synthetic is still dinosaur oil
