    I've been in the process of changing out all of my small engines out to amsoil. I've had to adjust the idle screws on every one of them to lower the idle speed after the switchover. The lower friction produced by the amsoil actually made the engine idle faster because there is less resistance. It is great oil no matter what anyone says. I have witnessed the results personally. I do not sell amsoil or get paid by them.

    I ran Amsoil in my wood splitter for over 20 years without changing the oil . It was my neighbor who saw the date on my wood splitter motor when I last changed the oil and asked me what the date was I told him it was the last time I changed oil. That Briggs & Stratton motor was from the early 70s 8.5 hp. Motor still runs like a champ even though it’s a little tough to start.

    I like your video. You got a working man's style no bullshit detected. Hard to find these days on the UA-cams and interwebs. I just got a zero turn and a tow behind brush mower. So I'm looking for the best oil . I can't believe I've got 7500 dollars in two pieces of lawn equipment let alone the trimmers chainsaws edges etc. Been living in an apartment or rental for the last decade. Just moved into a 80 acres place that had about 5 acres that need mowing. Thank God the other 75 acres is woods. I'm gonna look into the amsol oil. And I'm gonna get some of those oil filters. Never understood why they don't make cleanable oil filters. If a guy had extra oil filters I believe just swapping out the filter and topping off the oil would stretch out at least one oil change per maintenance cycle. If someone is changing let's say every 100 hrs. And others get away with 200 hrs. If a guy just changed the filter at 100 and then dis the entire deal at 200 if the filter was worth a shit it should be fine. I think the reason people avoid the oil change frequency is having to hold onto the used oil. People used to use the oil to keep their fence lines tidy but the EPA said no more to that.

Its expensive but much worth it especially in these air cooled engines that get abused daily at scorching temperatures.

    My Wright 48” Stander-X has the Kawasaki 691V engine. I run an oversized Amsoil oil filter (EA034) for more capacity and the Amsoil 10w40 small engine oil. I use the mower for personal property and put 60-70 hours a year on it. Never uses a drop of oil. Changing the oil is easy and clean, it has a valve on the side, no drain bolt.
    Interestingly, the Hydro drive train pumps oil was originally specd for Mobil-1 15w50 but a couple years ago Wright changed the spec to their own Wright brand 15w50 synthetic oil.
    I run the Amsoil Hydro 20w50 oil with either a Wright hydro filter or a NAPA 1410 gear lube filter. Don’t want to play around and use an engine oil filter on the hydro oil and risk starving those hydro pumps. They are pricey to replace. Very pricey.

      @juicebox22a 2 роки тому +4

      @@M70ACARRY What Kawasaki did change a few years ago was two things.
      They spec synthetic blend oil as a minimum requirement and generally reccomend 10w40 weight oil.
      They do reccomend a semi synthetic or full synthetic 20w50 for OPE operated in very hot environments.
      Their own K-Tech oil is all semi synthetic blend with the exception of the 15w50 weight which is full synthetic probably to achieve the 15-50 weight spread without using viscosity index improvers.
      Kawasakis viscosity chart approves 10w40 semi synthetic up to 104 degrees outside abient air temperature and 15w50 or 20w50 for hotter.
      Also their own K-Tech oils are boosted with added zinc, just like amsoi.

    • @gittyupalice96
      @gittyupalice96 Рік тому

      Viscosity is 30 not 5, for the "5w" the W means (winter rating) not "weight" so its a 30 viscosity oil with Winter rating 5 wich means it will flow better in cold weather, my engine calls for a 30 viscosity oil wich is what the bearing gap I have calls for in the manual for my 54 year old engine. Runs great, I use it primarily as a snow plow tractor. I run it because of its resilliance to extreme heat, much higher than the "small engine" oil they sell. Signature series specifically was formulated for turbine engines.

    Also a point that is overlooked using car engine oil in a four cycle engine is not what one should do! The car and four cycle engines have different needs from there oil. Car oil has additives not needed in small engines, while for cycle oils focus on additives that fits the needs of a smaller engines. So folks stick with a good four cycle oil that is produced just for them! Car oil has a lot of detergents in them that’s not needed in four cycle oils.
