The videography of your work is absolutely fantastic, you show us angles, views and content that you want to see. Even down to the view of a plate of food. A master at work cheers Jared. Hello from England 🏴
Take it from someone who served on a 'grey funnel line' (Navy) high powered corvette and had my bunk in the bow. Seat belts across your bod when in your rack on a high sea is the duck's nuts! Saved me from getting tossed out of bed on at least five occasions. One across your chest and one across your thighs; loose enough you can still toss and turn in your sleep, but tight enough to save you from getting that aforementioned tossed from your rack.
The crew cabins are the same size as the regular cabins on my 62ft fairline..... Love the videos man been watching since you were on that San Lorenzo 🤙
I spent 14 years as a crew member on Carnival 🎡 cruise 🚢 was fun 🤩 the cabin were not at all big but, It came in handy just for sleeping 💤 because I was always out at the crew bar! Thanks 🙏 for the video.
Very interesting & great to hear your South African accent. Coincidentally, I have a 45m superyacht berthed alongside me in Cape Town Harbour. She has changed names over the past couple of years from Summit to Bella T & now to Kevo. Undergoing a refit, she is stripped bare inside, which is why I'm watching this video, to get an idea of what the accommodation will eventually look like.
🤣 @ 6:26 first glance I thought I was looking at a BDSM starter kit 😈 It was the way you had everything displayed. Any who I have recovered from my hallucination. Great job on the video’s.
hey jared! i know this isn’t a video of your bush plane but i was just wondering if you could do a vid explaining all the expenses and all that, it would be sick!
Far as crew quarters entrances just off hand each U.S. Naval Ship I've been on the crew berthing areas was on port side. Never thought of it..except a submarine.
Jared, Jared, Jared. Crew access is on the port side because guest/owner access is on the starboard side. :P (And from the yacht tours I've seen, that's the same side as the galley.) If I'd known about yachting and yacht crew stuff when I was in high school, then I would have done it. (Actually, would have gone to a maritime college so I could be an officer on a container or cruise ship, or saved up for that while doing yachtee stuff.) Instead, I went into the US Army and ended up getting a permanent disability. But one can always dream. Also, tell Captain Luke he needs to finish up his 30 day challenge series. He's _waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy_ behind. You may have to teach him how to do this. ;)
Need to get the Vessi shoes. Since they are water proof. And you can get a sponsorship deal set up with them. They would be perfect for what crew members need for footwear
When in port, the 'port' side was against the dock. The 'starboard' side was out in open water, so that the steer board (basically a rudder, but on the side instead of center of the vessel) would have plenty of clearance. Today, of course, most slips are stern in (or bow in), and you are against other vessels so it doesn't really make a difference. It would be interesting to do a statistical analysis today of which side most people dock their boat (e.g.fuel dock, etc.). My limited observation is a slight preference for starboard side against dock which is against tradition.
One of two crew entrance on a Princess Y85 (26.2 metre) is on the stb side the other is of the bathing platform keep up the good work one question for you they say how far a boat can go but never say how long it takes to fill the fuel tanks from 20% to full , I know different boat different size tanks(bunkers)
Jared, from what I understand, the crew door is always on the port side because fueling is always done on the starboard side. I could be wrong, but this is what I was told when I asked a friend who Captains.
To answer Jared's question to why crew entry is always on the port side, it is obvious really, if it was on the other side it would be on the starboard side and that would be silly. Great video, thanks.
Always nice to see one of your videos Jared. Crew perspective shows if it's fun to work on a boat and Bella, as well as Ariens, seems to have good vibes all around. Funny you mention all the entrances to crew areas are at the port side for Italian, German and Dutch build boats. I noticed on Gulf Craft boats they have them galley side on the main deck but also starboard side in the cockpit area (UAE based builder). Princess yacht have them starboard for their "little" yachts but port for their bigger series. Makes you wonder if there is any reason for the port side preference.
20+ years ago, I would have loved to be a crew.. I actually tried to become one, but there was not all that much information to go on back then. Today, I'm more opting on becoming the owner of a yacht :-p
If all it took to be a crew member was able to sleep in a small space, the yes I could be a crew member, but I lack all the other skills, like hard work and not being lazy.
The captains channel is linked at the end subscribe screen. But here is another link for those missing that... ua-cam.com/users/LordLukeHammond

Hello from England 🏴
That go-pro 360 shot on foiling wake board is unique. Have never seen that before - cool.

Your videos and the way you put them together transfers your joy to the viewer ! Content full of soul ! Respect and many thanks !
It looks so cozy tbh
Finally another Jared watney video!
I agree, he definitely has a unique & entertaining way of presenting the facts. Most vid guys are dry. Jared’s the man!
Entrance to the crew quarters on the bering 77 explorer yacht is on the starboard side I believe and entered through the wheelhouse.
The small crew cabin would have been fine back in my 20's, but now approaching my 50's the owners cabin seams just about the right size! LOL
I know that it’s a another great video without even watching it.

The shots with Luke was amazingly funny. Thanks for the super video Jared!

Thanks Gary. Hope it helped
@@jaredwatney it did thank you. I've only just discovered your channel & have yet to get to the flying videos - another love of mine.
The captain is so funny! I like theses videos.
I like the engineer's calendar!
Fun opening to the video! Wow, you're camera gear is cool!! It deserves it's own berth. Clever footage showing us the crew clothes. Love from Vermont
That intro is great!
Anybody got a lead to the soundtrack?
hahaha love the calendar
Presumably crew access is on the port side because the crew is most likely to need to do work and transfer stuff to/from shore.
🤣 @ 6:26 first glance I thought I was looking at a BDSM starter kit 😈 It was the way you had everything displayed. Any who I have recovered from my hallucination. Great job on the video’s.
"Captain Luke's UA-cam Channel linked below".... Forgot to link!
He’s linked at the end of the video. His icon comes up
@@jaredwatney Oh cheers, thanks!
@@jaredwatney i didnt see it?
I don't see it either. A link in the description is much easier and more reliable.
Good to visit with you again Jared. Content pretty good.
Great video, keep it up!⛵.💯
Thank you for your videos, and all your crew channels too! I like to watch them, very!
Great return to form! Informative and nicely executed. Loved it.
Yeah we are back ⭐️⭐️
I think I just seen the Yacht on shelter island not sure if it’s the same one it looks amazing in person
I see a few bottles of 19 Crimes wine in the crew mess. Super spooky as I am drinking a glass right now!
hey jared! i know this isn’t a video of your bush plane but i was just wondering if you could do a vid explaining all the expenses and all that, it would be sick!
At 6'8 I'd *really* struggle with that little space - think I'll pass on being yacht crew! 🤣
Yes, I am only 6'0", and I detest most berths as I like to stretch out.
I can only imagine how many sailors joined up without thinking berth lengths. Surprise! Agony.
I started watching these videos because I liked super yachts but now I just watch them because I like Jared.
I knew I was getting old when i saw the dishwasher and thought: "shit that's nice I really need one" xD
this was a great video funny as hell!!!! thanks
Another amazing video! Thanks Jared!
Far as crew quarters entrances just off hand each U.S. Naval Ship I've been on the crew berthing areas was on port side. Never thought of it..except a submarine.
The kitchen is my favorite, best room of the whole boat

Intro was fire
Great job Jared this video is another banger!😁
whoa, gettings supplies from SE USA. Greenwise is a Publix branded item. It's a great grocery store. Hope you can get a Sub Sandwich from there!
1:56 engineer has class, look at that poster.
Hey Jared, the crew entrance is on the port side because traditionally the port side is seen as the less prestigious side

Nice to see.. Your videos are always facinating and positive :) keep up the good work
Crew access is always on the port, because the stars board on the right 😂
\\ Great vid Bru!
Check your mic as reverb was quite heavy or perhaps it's time to invest in lavalier?
Can't wait for the next.
two of my dreams

You need to post more videos!
Good video, Nice Boat.
Yummy Vegemite! Now you have my attention lol .....(well, you had it anyway but that sight did make me happier :D )
You're doing great, Jared. interesting videos. greetings from Siberia.
@ 4:06 Vegemite YAHooooooooooo!!
Pretty nice quarters for the crew. Not bad at all.
To answer Jared's question to why crew entry is always on the port side, it is obvious really, if it was on the other side it would be on the starboard side and that would be silly. Great video, thanks.
Naval Tradition has the officers and guests boarding starboard, crew and cargo boarding port.

in my boat, you go to the crew cabins on the starboard side of the boat.
Are there single crew cabins on those yachts (excluding captains), and is that depends on the size of the yacht ?
i think u forgot to link his channel :P
I looked for it too.
Where is the link to the captains quarters?
You do FIRE ROUND CHECKS.
Bella could have it’s own merch
Would the Head Chef have similar quarters to the Chief Officer?
Hey Jared I didn't see captain Luke's channel linked
Where does the engineer sleep? Is the engineer’ cabin as nice as the Captain’s?
20+ years ago, I would have loved to be a crew.. I actually tried to become one, but there was not all that much information to go on back then.

thank you for this video epic content
Are you kidding. What happened to those king size beds on the tv
For me, without a cabin mate, it has not been a problem.
I definitely could not live like that
Went to a yacht show and out of the 15 yachts 5 of them I was able to fit in the shower and didn't have to duck my head through a door
The sound in SYC channel is much better :)
Have you ever been on a yacht with the galley any other place then portside right next to the crew-entrance? I haven’t seen one so far.
Where is Captain Luke's channel?
Is there any laundryman working onboard sir jared?
Can I get more info on those Hurley board shorts? Are they a thin “swimsuit” type material, or more of a day-short that happens to dry quickly?
If all it took to be a crew member was able to sleep in a small space, the yes I could be a crew member, but I lack all the other skills, like hard work and not being lazy.

I've always uses Nike shoes onboard my vessels :)
lmao and i would make you leave them on the dock. no Nike aloud.
I would like see a Downton Abbey show done in costume, on a super yacht.
1:56 , I bet the engineer's doggo!
If you are able to spot it instantaneously you are a top notch simp!
P.S.: Silence wrench
what's Capt. Luke's YT??
Yacht Bella should sell those jackets

Hello I'm from Philippines 🇵🇭
What is tallest person can sleep on your bed and fit in shower?
What is Captain Luke’s policy on sharing a cabin. Same gender? Opposite gender OK?
no fraternizing among the crew that's a NO GO !!!!!!!! If caught immediate dismissal at whatever port, you are docked or closet too.
