Saw john first time in newcastle, only went because ian was support..blown away...half time went to bar, packed...when i got served and turned around with 2 pints, john martyn was right behind me...lovley, is that for me he said...i was gobsmacked,couldnt speak...only joking he said laughing...great memories.
I saw him that year, probably the most memorable gig ( after Glasto 86): he was alone, wastcoated with a Martin, SG and an 'Echoplex, and all the stuff you'd want to hear.
