I think I'm most excited about what Laura Kate Dale revealed about the AI upscaling process: "A big focus is on developers who can provide their own training data images generated from higher internal resolution builds of the game, to improve the accuracy of the upscale for their specific game. Very much feels like 'use the other versions you're making to help train your Switch 2 upscale'" and: "Lots of focus on 'If you're already making a 4K version of your game, use screenshots of that to help Switch 2 know what it's ideally aiming for, to improve the quality of result when we try to upscale your low resolution Nintendo build'." Essentially meaning that while the games will be 1080 versions upscaled with AI, they should look fairly close to the 4K version of the game since the AI is being trained on actual images of the 4K game. That is super exciting.
Its wild all these people saying we have confirmation for so many things. Until nintendo shows us, nothing is real. Everyone was SOOOO convinced bout the switch pro a few years ago, an ir was just an oled.
Everything sounds believable but I don't buy games being locked to 4K 30FPS when docked. I expect selectable options of either 1440p 60FPS or 4K 30FPS. It doesn't make sense to me to automatically lock a game to 4K 30FPS when docked.
It will be interesting to see what resolutions it supports. Part of the problem is that TVs generally don't support native 1440p - computer monitors do. I have a 4K TV, and it doesn't support 1440p.
@@logicalfundy That's not a problem because that's exactly how the performance and resolution options work on PS5 and XBOX SERIES X. No matter what option you choose, the game will automatically be upscaled to 4K. If you choose performance mode then you'll be playing at an internal resolution of 1440p with that being upscaled to 4K while running the game at 60FPS. If you choose resolution over performance, then you'll be playing at an internal resolution of something closer to native 4K like 1800p which will provide a clearer picture while playing at 30FPS.
@@XenoMassxx Of course that assumes the Switch 2 outputs 4K/60, which I hope it does. It's certainly up to the game developers to choose an appropriate frame rate and internal resolution before upscaling (or even to use dynamic resolution scaling, like a lot current Switch games do).
I hate how, in the post, pushing 4K is just the new benchmark or expectation for a console, and anything less people considered laughable. 1080p at 60FPS still looks good if you do it right. Meanwhile, most games trying to push 4K and barely hitting 60FPS look inherently inferior to a game with a higher framerate and a decent/good resolution.

It ain’t that deep bro it’s a portable console
At this point, we don't even need a reveal trailer from Nintendo. It's all been done for them. We just need a release date and games list.
Nintendo has never been in a power competition so it’s not a surprise it’s a mediocre chip. Seems they’re outlasting the competition in the long run though due to rising building costs (hardware) and the world complexities getting more expensive (software dev) Somy and Microsoft have both full sent on maxing those two and as soon as they make one like Nintendo for cost purposes their fan base will shred them for lesser quality. 💯
None of this matters, the only thing that matters is that those greedy Fs give us an actually good Pokemon game for once.
If this is about the Poke'mon S/V drama for the 500TH TIME about buggy and glitchy, stagnant graphics, then you should go and touch grass. It's not making anything better if it's just all about high standard and cutting-end graphics, or worse gameplay.
@@SailBros_204 I have more fun playing Gold than S/V, so no, it is not about graphics.
I see. Sorry for shouting about that, I was just getting so tired of hearing about it. Who knows? Maybe the graphics in the game will get a patch sooner or later.
good i bought a ps5, tired of waiting and i knew it would be a bad thing
Obviously the switch 2 could never compare to a ps5. It’s like comparing a $300 laptop to a $500 desktop
