I think it would work with one, at least in theory. It just works a lot better with two rotors. The whole thing is kinda like a mass-spring-system, with the rotors acting as the spring. You want the resonant frequency of it to match the frequency you driving it with, which is 30 Hz. When I first experimented with mass-shift drives I tried playing around with the spring stiffness by putting varying numbers of rotors in series or parallel, and using two in series consistently gave the best results.
So it works due to the fact that the items travel up and down the row of ~~pistons~~ rotors instanteneously, without exerting any force, but do exert force when pushed/pulled along with the container?
speed runs are at less than 10 mins atm :) This sure is faster than my fastest run of 15:50 :) Really cool stuff. Now that you shown this... I remember I had a Dual small advenced rotor mod installed..... 😈
the question is: what qualifies as an SE speedrun? to collect platinum and uranium? to reach every planet? this game is more like a creative sandbox than a survival game

From what I understand it goes by weight but that weight needs to be shifted (so cargo containers are used). But still sounds like a possibility.
