Thank you for the walk, despite nature walks not being your thing. Urban parks are a great way to get a nature fix without having to venture properly to a rural area or a national park, which is more difficult without a car and by oneself. Regarding the building at the end: Does Toronto (or Ontario) have a public register with info on listed or noteworthy built heritage? The regional gov’t here in Brussels has one and it provides good reading when I spot an interesting building during my own walks.
