It was a little intimidating being so big, but I got comfortable with it quickly. The Gee Bee had a few minor problems, but is flying again. Thanks for watching and the support Ian
Thanks for the suggestion. As you can see in the video I take it off when I realize I'm wearing it. These larger planes are fun, but have to be respected. Thanks for watching and the support. I appreciate it.
I think that is true with airplanes or helicopters. The bigger they are the easier they are to fly. I hope to get this one back in the air soon. Thanks for watching.
I will have to try boats again for sure, but they are just as expensive as planes. My wallet cant take buying all this stuff. lol.. Thanks for watching.
That was great Eric, really lovely plane - think I'll buy one : ) One thing I love about your channel is that your always mixing it up with different types of planes - not just small ARF electrics - keep it up. Two thumbs up.
The H9 27% E-260 is a nice airplane! Not only did it fly great, but it landed like an over grown trainer. Too bad H9 discontinued it. I had one with a Moki 2.10 and a TME smoke system. Unfortunately, I had to sell it to help fund a new 50cc Aero-Works QB Yak54's and a DA-50.. Also, One word of warning about your video, You never want to wear a neck strap while starting an engine! I'd hate to think of what could happen it got caught in the prop!
love these planes...crashed mine last fall, of all the planes ive ever wrecked, this one really bugged me...rebuilt it over winter, found maybe the last retail new left wing - in australia- and rebuilt the fuselage...repairs were almost done and a NOS in the box one popped up, got that for spares, and day it showed up, one came up like ten miles away- it only has a 35cc in it, but came with a spare canopy and I already had one extra new cowl from my original... the original I had mixed in a large amount of elevon , and first flight, the roll rate was amazing at high speed- and these things crank... guys at the field think its over 100... anyways after first flight found stab to be loose as heck- lucky didnt rip the plane in half, never thought about fuse not made for tail torque...still running elevon mix, but only about 1/4" max, where that first flight it was over a inch, roll rate is great- and rear carbon tube/stab are now epoxied in... just maidened the rebuilt one last weekend- it turned out really nice, flew absolutely good as new, I got lucky I guess, but surprised myself how well the repairs came out- from outside you would never guess it had been ripped in half hard enough to bend that aluminum wingtube (did 'cheat' by buying the one wing half- but it was just a bag of sticks, woulda took a week to piece together/trace/cut/remake...) Anyways, hoping I have enough spares now to keep mine in the air the rest of my days- and hope thats a long time to come...something about this particular model I just absolutely love to fly...mines DLE55 with a pitts style muffler for symmetry- im weird about symmetry- and with the split elevator servos, its exactly symmetrical all the way..radio/ignition switches opposing by where hatch bolts were, hatch latch top/center with optikill led right behind it...silly, but... great looking, greater flying, great ground handling (4 1/2" tires on mine with cut out pants sometimes)...stupid overpowered, and heavy enough it sinks/lands easy, and punches thru wind with ease...darn shame hangar 9 quit making these planes. my other favorite-on calmer days- is the H9 extra 330 SC 60E- its only 67" so fits assembled in the truck, is electric so clean/easy, flies absolutely beautifully, except very light/ you need to fly it to touchdown, it dont sink quick...but again, why Hangar 9 quit selling that model also amazes me...for quiet, the 330 is probably my favorite, but overall, even with light mess of gasoline/oil, and having to haul disassembled(at least one wing off), absolute favorite is still this old 260/DLE55 combo... love the Patti Wagstaff inspired scheme, looks great on the ground and in the air... www.flickr.com/photos/83232178@N06/52650935312/in/dateposted/
Eric great video as usual, Nice palne I have a buddy who has the same set up and loves his. Would love to see a video on your set up, with a little info on the build.
Very cool ! I have the 27% Extra 330s by GP with the same engine ! Unlimited vertical ! It would be nice to see what's inside the plane as to show gas tank, servos, battery placement of your install ! But it was still a great video ! keep the good work up !
Nice video Eric! If you like that plane you really should try the 78" Extreme Flight Extra with a 10S electric Hacker/Castle motor/esc setup. That's what I'm running in mine with a 22x10 and it's SUWEET!
congrats on the maiden Eric. I dont fly any large planes anymore and ive only ever flown foamies. Since I got the hobbyking reaktor I dont fly any other planes anymore. Its the best robust plane ive ever flown and I love it. I do have a 3s f3a micro to maiden soon but ive been slack. Only really been messing around with the rc boats with dad recently. Get an rc boat next.
Great flying and phantastic clip, Eric! Is the feeling another one when you put a 1000$ (or maybe more) plane in the air than the very cheaper Parkzone-guys? Nice t-shirt of yout buddy :)
Nice flight. I have the same plane with a DA 50 you might as well order new gear for it the Hanger 9 CF gear is garbage. Hanger 9 makes metal gear or order gear from Graph tech just trying to be helpful. Good Luck.
I was nervous on the first flight, but got comfortable very fast. It's a great plane and the DLE-55 rocks. Thanks for watching.
It was a little intimidating being so big, but I got comfortable with it quickly. The Gee Bee had a few minor problems, but is flying again. Thanks for watching and the support Ian
Excellent camera work. Kudos to your wife for keeping the aircraft in frame. Thanks for all the great videos!
I hope to get many more flights with it. Thanks for watching and the support John.
That was my welding glove. The DLE-55 sounded great didn't it. Thanks for watching and the support Tom.
Thanks for coming out to the field a few weeks ago and flying we need to do it again some time soon I have a few that I need help with
Thanks for the suggestion. As you can see in the video I take it off when I realize I'm wearing it. These larger planes are fun, but have to be respected. Thanks for watching and the support. I appreciate it.
wow that engine really purrrrs.
Your wife is getting very good at filming!
I've always wanted a large scale airplane and it is fun to fly for sure.
I think that is true with airplanes or helicopters. The bigger they are the easier they are to fly. I hope to get this one back in the air soon. Thanks for watching.
There really isn't much to see on the inside of the plane. The DLE-55 is impressive though and worth looking at. Thanks for watching.
I'm going to have to figure out where to put a gopro on it next. Thanks for watching.
I didn't want to get too crazy with it on the first flight and hope to get in sone flying again soon. Thanks for watching.
I still have some more work to do on the plane, but it was a good first flight. Thanks for watching.
It is fun for sure. I will have to get this one up in the air again soon.
I will have to try boats again for sure, but they are just as expensive as planes. My wallet cant take buying all this stuff. lol.. Thanks for watching.
Nice that's what it is all about. Having fun. Nice plane.

That was great Eric, really lovely plane - think I'll buy one : )
One thing I love about your channel is that your always mixing it up with different types of planes - not just small ARF electrics - keep it up. Two thumbs up.

Impressive.
I'd like to see more of this plane. Any chance you can do something in depth like with your setup or just more flight video?

(Revisit) that thing sounds awesome man!
she's got some powah!
To bad H-9 stopping making this plane I have one with a DLE-55 in it and it is one fun plane to fly.
Thanks Mike. Maybe we can get together one day and you can see it.
Hi Eric, i just brought this plane but have had some mixed thoughts on what servos to use, what do you use? thanks
Nice video Eric! If you like that plane you really should try the 78" Extreme Flight Extra with a 10S electric Hacker/Castle motor/esc setup. That's what I'm running in mine with a 22x10 and it's SUWEET!

Golly gee whillackers that's such purrrdy flying...lol
Great looking airplane, but your wife wants to fly it!
I love these hangar 9 plane, but their so expensive! i want the sukhoi from h9
If your gear is metal your ok. Most H9 260s had carbon fibre gear painted white.
Do you mean the landing gear? That's metal on mine.
Great flying and phantastic clip, Eric! Is the feeling another one when you put a 1000$ (or maybe more) plane in the air than the very cheaper Parkzone-guys?
Nice t-shirt of yout buddy :)
Apparently, the plane has an engine difficult to turn on. How much does one of these?
I'm interested in knowing if you are also a licensed pilot. Very cool videos.
It was so funny. lol
god i love his shirt lol
That's a little bigger plane than you normally fly in your videos.
Why don't u fly it around
Nice flight. I have the same plane with a DA 50 you might as well order new gear for it the Hanger 9 CF gear is garbage. Hanger 9 makes metal gear or order gear from Graph tech just trying to be helpful. Good Luck.
Nice flight and great video Eric. However, I'm going to murder you if you sell it!
DLE engines are not hard to start,You have to prime them when there new,A little rc car squirt bottle does the trick!!!
Ah63de thanks
