The approach into Lime Street sends shivers down my spine. Edge Hill is like a museum of railway history and the tunnel under the city with brickwork covered in soot from the old steam days, moss growing everywhere and water trickling down from above just adds to the ambience!
It's one of the more old worldy feeling approaches into a station on the British network. But I can just see steam trains arriving and departing from Liverpool
Really? that'll be good :) although if that is the case then they really need to invest in some intercity rolling stock for such long journeys with catering on board
+Scouse Trainspotter1999 What they are planning to do is divert every other Birmingham New Street - Liverpool Lime Street service to Preston (i.e. instead of having 2 trains per hour from New Street to Lime Street as now, there would be two trains per hour from New Street, of which one would run to Lime Street and one to Preston). But in order to keep a half-hourly LM service from Lime Street, they are planning to extend the current Euston - Crewe service to Lime Street. So in the end if you want to travel from Milton Keynes to Liverpool quickly, you are still better off catching a Pendolino that goes to Chester, changing at Crewe and catching another train there. On the other hand though, the new service would provide a cheaper alternative.
I have a theory that seeing as Pacers are coming out of service in 2020 they might get some of Scotrail's class 170's that are coming out of service for the new 385's that are currently coming into service and should be fully bought in by I think November ish
I'm not sure as to why Northern are getting some of SR's turbo units. It could very well be the fact that they are getting rid of some of their older units
I am still laughing about The BUS, now it also is stalking you LOL. Maybe you need to file a complaint that you want them gone....don't think they will. Great video and also very nice station. And yes you are famous even here in Amsterdam lol look forward to your next video as always :)
My hatred for them will be gone in a few years lol. The company taking over the Northern Franchise will be removing the pacers :D just hold they replace them with something better :D It was a great station to film at and certainly one I will be coming back to :) and I'm flattered to hear that thank you :)
Have you noticed how Virgin has been putting black doors on 9 coach pendos but not 11 coach ones? Gotta go back here someday, all my Favourite trains go here, 156, 158, 319, 18, 350, 142. Great film mate enjoyed every second of this, I am leaving a like for you?
Sorry for the late reply, thanks very much I'm glad you liked it. I to noticed that the 9 car sets are getting black doors but I can't work out why. I'm really looking forward to coming back here next week
Was anyone else surprised to see passengers on the 142 when it was coupled to a 156? I mean, who would choose to board a Pacer instead of a Sprinter :D
Well I've never travelled any great distance with northern before so as far as customer service goes I really can't say. As for livery I hope they change it to something good, I like what northern have done with some of their 150, 156 and 158 units by advertising Yorkshire on them, I'm hopefully Arriva will continue to do a similar thing. It will be interesting to see if they adopt a new livery to the trains or if they go down a similar path to that or Arriva Trains Wales with a standard white and blue livery. Time will tell. I'm also happy to hear that they are scrapping the pacers. Be nice to see what they are going to bring in to replace them
Argh! 142009 i hate that thing so much!! Despise the thing with a passion, have you filmed at Lancaster yet? It's a nice station served by Northern Rail, Virgin and TransPennine and there's usually a few freight trains too
I understand watching trains as I have and still like to watch trains (hence why I'm here XD) but one thing I have never understood is noting all the numbers? what is this for??
They are horrid to look at, the interior is that of an old bus, the seating is rock hard and the noise of the train going round any form of curve is simply unbearable
They look absolutely horrible, the interior is bland and really cramped. The seating is rock hard and there is no give in the trains suspension, the slightest bump is felt throughout the course of the train. The vibrations when the train is accelerating is way to harsh and the screach from the train rounding any form of bend is way to loud

Don't see many vids from Lime Street. Nice to see one in your own great style. Nice mix of traction and colour.
amazing video really enjoying it so far can't wait for Stourbridge junction and five ways!
Thanks very much I'm glad that you liked it
London Midland are actually planning to introduce an hourly train from Lime Street to Euston next year :-)
Really? that'll be good :) although if that is the case then they really need to invest in some intercity rolling stock for such long journeys with catering on board
***** Yeah that's true
+KasabianFan44 that would take a long time but it would be good because can go milton keynes without changing at crewe
+Scouse Trainspotter1999

I wonder if transpeninne express be using there 350/4s there next year on there new service Liverpool - Glasgow/Edinburgh
Well I can't see why they wouldn't use them, might even order some more 350 units
+Tornado922 from what they put on there website there getting new intercity trains
Daniel Hughes intercity? So something similar to that of Abellio Greater Anglia?
We'll just have wait and see for next for there new franchise next year
+ Scouse Trainspotter1999 yes as the current Liverpool - Newcastle will be extended to Edinburgh

The Great Eastern Trainspotter Yeah I've been meaning to go there for a while, I'll be going there next year
+Tornado922 Cool, have you ever filmed at Carlisle?
+The Great Eastern Trainspotter no I haven't
Have you noticed how Virgin has been putting black doors on 9 coach pendos but not 11 coach ones? Gotta go back here someday, all my Favourite trains go here, 156, 158, 319, 18, 350, 142. Great film mate enjoyed every second of this, I am leaving a like for you?

This is the oldest terminus still in use on the planet.
Liverpool Lime Street is a good station to flim at I have filmed their but I videod all the Action on my old phone:)
I found it really enjoyable here
Was anyone else surprised to see passengers on the 142 when it was coupled to a 156?
I mean, who would choose to board a Pacer instead of a Sprinter :D
me i like pacers
Maybe when it started it didn't have a 156 coupled to it

What do you think about Arriva taking over Northern next year?
Well I've never travelled any great distance with northern before so as far as customer service goes I really can't say. +Tornado922 would you beleive it's actually rumoured to be D78 stock from LU district line to replace the pacers
+Sam Waddingham I've been hearing reports that the old London Underground stock is replacing them, that'll certainly be interesting
+Crazy Adam 8 319s would look epic in Arivas dark blue and bright blue livery.
Brilliant video!!! Got station recommendation for you, Derby for next year?
Thanks very much :) and yes I will definitely be filming there next year
gd 1
+Tornado922 Ive got a station recommendation Chesterfield
why haven't you done a vid for 2 weeks?
Read the description :)
if you will be so kind and film Scarborough first penniie express
thank you
When I get the opportunity I will venture over there :)
+Tornado922 that train goes through York so you may want to check that out to as many trains stop there
Argh! 142009 i hate that thing so much!! Despise the thing with a passion, have you filmed at Lancaster yet? It's a nice station served by Northern Rail, Virgin and TransPennine and there's usually a few freight trains too
I've never filmed at Lancaster before. I have been thinking about it but it is near 200 miles away from where I live.
how did you get there was it a virgin train
Yeah I took a Virgin Train from Milton Keynes to Crewe and then a connecting London Midland Service to Liverpool
I understand watching trains as I have and still like to watch trains (hence why I'm here XD) but one thing I have never understood is noting all the numbers? what is this for??
It's for people who collect the numbers of the various trains around the country :)
+Tornado922, that is I mean bud, why collect numbers?
Simon Jones to allow people the chance to see every train in the country
Tornado922 what's your real name tornado 922 isn't it Steven ?
Where are you from tornado 922?
I'm from the midlands, Northamptonshire
you said u hated 142042 pacer with 156 on rear didnt u
No I just hate the 142 pacers. I really like 156 units.
ok maybe not the 156's but why buses
They are horrid to look at, the interior is that of an old bus, the seating is rock hard and the noise of the train going round any form of curve is simply unbearable
can you go to Shrewsbury please and I love your amazing work for your video
Your reaction to the pacer was funny as hell 😂
May I ask what's the hatred of the pacers about? other than them being hideous.
10:22
ohh i get u i hate the american metro trains. but if u want u could go to america and do a video for us
If I had the chance to I would love to be able to go back to America and do some filming there
your video is very long OMG :O
It's the usual length of the vids that I produce, they can range from 20 to 40 minutes in length depending on the station that I visit
+Tornado922 you did,t a hear there was a food in a place
Lou Carroll sorry I'm afraid I don't know what you mean?
***** that awesome
