That kills me when people do that and they always wanna cry to the manager that the server was rude, but they were rude to staff BEFORE you had an issue with the food. We had Shrimp and Grits on our menu. The lady ordered it, but was upset that there was an egg on it, which the menu CLEARLY stated egg came with it. We had to take it back and off the check. Today, I had a teen order PLAIN pancakes, but was perplexed that she didn't get powdered sugar on them. I told her when you specifically said PLAIN, that's how we serve it. I don't know why people do that. If you say "I want it plain", WHY would YOU think we'd serve it with powdered sugar when that is NOT what you asked for?

As a black woman I do not accept their actions as my reflection and encourage you to do the same and correct it when you hear others saying that this makes us look bad whatever the situation may be. We have to stop generalizing ourselves and taking on the actions of others. Other races don’t do that on the level that we do so yes those women look bad trying to scam a meal but in no way does that make me look bad just because we are the same race

My friends And I were at a restaurant and when we were leaving they decided to undertip the waitress because of a I think she didn't refill their water quickly enough. They believe that under tipping someone was how you taught them how to be better at their job. I said oh but how is she know why she was being undertipped or even that she was being undertipped. You never complained You smiled in her face the entire time I didn't even know She wasn't feeling the water glasses up fast enough. You had a Coke. And you had something else. So we left I took my cash cuz I'm the poor friend up to where she was by the bar and I handed her the difference and I told her sweetie they undertipped you because you didn't feel the water glasses up fast enough but I thought you should know since you did tell us that you were a new waiter here's the difference of your tip. And I walked away. It was so embarrassed they were like oh my God I can't believe you just did that. You You so crazy oh my God you're so wild. And I was thinking that you know I'm your low class country cousin. I can't even believe you brought me out to this fancy restaurant. Lol

If it was good enough to eat, it's good enough to pay for. Like if there is something wrong and the manager decides to comp your meal that's one thing, but to specifically ask to not pay is ludicrous. The only time it's acceptable to refuse payment is if the food is inedible.

Then when they get to Check Out the next morning they complain and are so argumentive while I have a line of Business Men and Women waiting in line and on a schedule. I just give the room to them. Many times they are already booked at one of our other Hotels for the same night they checked out. One of my aunt's is the same way. White progressive woman. I absolutely hated going out to eat with her at family get togethers because I knew she would always find something to complain about to the wait staff.
Side note, we got together as a family for the first time at Christmas in numerous years. She told one of my cousin's son's to take off his hat, and another cousin to take his off. They were annoyed, but did it. I warned my sister when I let them in at the front door of my aunt's apartment building about the hat's. In case my brother in law, and future brother in law were wearing ones. Which of course they were. When my aunt told them to take their hat's off, one of my sisters went off on her lol. Telling her things like this is exactly why people don't want to get together, yet she complains nobody wants to get together anymore.
Progressive people, especially women, expecting traditional values from men is text book double standards, and hypocrisy at it's best.
Avoid such people in your personal life the best you can. I worked retail for years, I understand you can't avoid them at work, especially in the restaurant industry.
P.S. This aunt was a former waitress herself. Which always made it more perplexing to me on how she treated the wait staff.

I took a woman out and she suggested that we could probably get off from paying the bill because the drinks were undoubtedly watered-down. I asked the server to taste the drinks but she trusted me and had them made again. The overall service and food was great but the whole time my date kept harping on the missed opportunity to weasel out on the bill. I told her that what she was trying to do reinforced a stereotype about black people. I left a 40% tip just to let the establishment know that we all aren't like that. I came to her shop one day to say hello and she was in tears. She explain to me that she came here for a better life and to make more money than she would where she was from. She proceeded to say that “my African sisters and brothers here don’t understand that everyone’s head is shaped differently and sometimes the patterns don’t quite match the photos they bring. apparently at least three times a week someone would demand to get her work for free or discounted and she even provided the hair. She told me that no matter how hard she tried she could never make them happy and she couldn’t wait to go back home. I think about her very often and wonder how she’s doing now.

Eating at a restaurant with some coworkers when one (black female) started complaining about her meal after eating over half of the food. I was so embarrassed because this was a regular spot where I ate on game days. She had the young waitress crying and the manager came to the table. If she had complained after a few bites I would have understood, but eating the majority of the food was endefensenssble.

What's funny is even if they like everything and you give them top tier service they'll still stiff you... I had a table of black women in the restaurant after we closed one day- I had em laughing, did the whole birthday routine, one of em even gave me their phone number and they wanted me to go party with them later that night.... child when I tell you they left me like 7$ on a 200$ tab, I crumbled that number up so damn fast!

Sadly true. (I'm a black woman)I worked in retail for 10 years . Not saying they're the only mad ones but majority. It's a different type of anger. Like, attention seeking rudenss. When you're aware of how nasty it looks it makes it easier to not be like that. I would never give anyone the satisfaction of getting me out of character.

Judging by my own behavior as a teen, and my girlfriend's behavior in college ... I am guessing this attention-seeking rudeness began when they saw a fictional or historical character who had power, who also looked beautiful.
The main part of being a queen is imperiously bossing people around. Asking them to be polite makes them feel like we are accusing them of being weak and ugly. Politeness is for peasants.
Rhonda Rousey's mother mentally poisoned her with something similar. She told her "Nobody has the right to win against you". Poor Rhonda spent her whole career thinking the only way to win was to classify her opponents as being beneath her. She made a fool of herself so many times with her angry contemptuous behavior, many people did not mourn when she lost.
