Thanks for this informative beginner's guide. I've always loved cozy sim games like Animal Crossing & Stardew Valley so I wanted to try Palia. I just started playing it on the Switch a few days ago- I actually purchased and downloaded it months ago, but I had so many screenshots from several years of Animal Crossing that I couldn't run the game. I came back and had to go in and manually delete them one by one, over 1k of them, as there's no way to batch delete them that I know of. I was a bit overwhelmed the first day I started playing, its kind of a lot to take in at first, but now I'm getting the hang of it and I know it will be a new favorite. Video tutorials like this definitely help! I especially love the home building, decorating and outfit aspects of cozy Sim games- the options & possibilities of Palia look very extensive! I love the aesthetic of the game design, to me it reminds me somewhat of Steampunk and Solarpunk but also it's own unique style.
Thank you! ☺ Really glad to hear you managed to get started with Palia (even if the Switch screenshot management sounds terrible!). It can definitely be overwhelming if you haven't played when the game initially released, as they have added so many new things. Just take it one step at a time and do what you enjoy most. There are a lot of unique housing items that can be found in secret quests, unlocked as friendship rewards, etc. - you'll love it. There's always something to do, from gathering resources, increasing friendship levels, playing hotpot in the underground, decorating your plot and touring other houses... Wishing you an amazing time in Palia! 🌻
I’m new to this game and already found myself lost for half an hour 😂 it said leave housing plot so I started walking one way and now have no idea how to get back 😂 help xoxo
Oh no! 😄 There are some Fast Travel options, as shown at 13:39. Easiest would be the "Return to Housing Plot" from your Map (it has a 30min cooldown when used). The game can be a bit overwhelming at first, just take it slow and you'll slowly learn where things are. Good luck!
I'm an old generation of the first sims and decorating the house is so used to keeping it in grids, decorating without grids and cluttering the objects is so refreshing to see but I'm struggling with ungridding my design. One of my OCD to have everything in grids 🤣
Oh, I totally get what you mean. Even without being used to grids, it's actually quite challenging to arrange things more "naturally" and also add some clutter. I always have to force myself to be less simplistic and modern, and rather create adorable comfy areas.
Thank you! Are all the fish, insects and dishes star versions - only those can be placed. If so, can you place some but not others? Have you placed a lot of items on your plot, maybe you have reached the housing item limit?
@@Pixelcave its because they didnt have a star which made me cant place them😂 the ones with stars can be placed only gose with all fish and gems and insects and food🌹
Ok, that explains it! Happy hunting for star fish, bugs, gems and food - it's really an awesome feature that those can be displayed. Great for collecting! 🌟

Høres ut som du er norsk.. stemmer det? :) Gode tips btw!
Det er riktig, og takk! 😄
Not sure if an update changed this. But I currently have 1423 renown...
Nothing has been changed, at least not yet, so that's weird indeed. Better spend it in case it doesn't last!
@@Pixelcave it was my b. I was looking at the COMPLETELY wrong thing lmao
