Thanks a big bunch, Richard. These are still the best and truly the easiest ways. I learned these methods so long ago I'd nearly forgot them when my grandsons showed me the nursery rhyme versions.
This a terrific video and explanation of how to make this knot. I always had a hard time figuring out how to make this knot around an object. Not anymore! Both techniques you demonstrated were easy to understand and also to see how the knot comes together. Thank you so much!
My Dad taught me the second method which he learnt in the Army , learnt the first method at Scouts but he showed me your second method , is faster and easier to remember
I prefer the second variant. I use this method also to make a rope tightening knot by making a long loop and pulling the "working end" strongly to tighten the rope. At a certain tension, the knot flips over and the connection is fixed.
Have used the bowline many times. Always interested in a different/easier/faster method. The video did explain it was for viewers who already knew how to tie the Bowline. It is a good video. 2 thumbs up.
Both of these result in bowlines as tied by a left handed person. They are mirror images of a true right hand bowline. It makes no difference in braided rope but it does matter in twisted rope.
I was taught welding in the navy. When I did my welding exam, the examiner said "oh, you're left handed". I said no, I just weld like I was taught, exactly mirroring the instructor who sat opposite me at the bench.
I prefer the "slipknot" method, makes more sense to me as it is basically a marlin spike hitch that you pass the working end through, nice video!
Perfect method of explaining knots. Slow motion, proper detailing
Nice video! Thank you. You do a nice job of bringing attention to the critical details that others frequently don’t.

Thank you! I had a total brain block w/ this knot. You made it easy👍
Iv been tying slips and bows for years and didnt know they could be done as 1. Thanks🇮🇪 💚
Great video Richard. Thanks.
I have tied this knot for years, but have never seen these exact methods. Thanks!
This is a really well made video. It would be the first I have seen where the slow down makes understanding it easy. Great work!
Super video.👍👏👏👏 Thank you.
Best bowline lesson, thanks
Great job man. Knots are just to dang cool. Thanks for sharing.
You are a legend. Thanks 👍
Best explanation I've ever seen
Ha. I thought I was the only one who did it with a slip knot. Thanks, now I know it's a thing. :)
Knots are cool. Thanks for the video.
Спасибо Ричард, это самое лучшее видео как вязать булинь, супер! Всё гениальное просто!

It is easy to see and is easy to understand.
Good use of terminology. Good demonstration. Thank you.

Awesome
Wow, can finally say good bye to the: "the rabbit comes outta the hole, around the tree and back to the hole" technique lol
I sometimes find the rabbit stops, sniffs the air then disappears before the knot ties.
Sometimes the rabbit comes out of the hole when I'm suspended by the rope.
Very cool .
This is an exercise in making something complicated which was originally straightforward

It is a good video. 2 thumbs up.
Thank you.
The first method is much easier and faster. Thanks
Thanks a lot!! so helpingg:)
Thanks
It’s genial!
это лучшее объяснение по ясности и по темпу
Thank you!
The slip knot method I always called a "snap bowline" it's the only way to do it really.
just to clarify, the second way to make the bowline in this video is the "snap bowline" method. why Shawn failed to mention this is a mystery.
Good
Thankyou :)
Great, Thx :)
Good, but the bowline needs a longer "tail" for best security.
...as a climber we call the second one a snap bowline.
Kreatif
Dan sangat berguna

If we are familiar with & know how to tie the Bowline knot then WHAT is the point of this video?
To see dumb comments like yours, lol 😅
Why aren't people in the video breaking things? Where are the drums? The masks? The fire and the rage? Where is everybody?
Ых! Голова!
Seems long winded to me. I can send you a link where my granddaughter ties one quicker
Been waiting over a year for that link you promised. LoL
Yeah where's this link? Lol
Maybe you should get your granddaughter to send that link.
Rick Schuman
Not sure how to do that. Give me you email and I will
Here's my my method which I think is easier: ua-cam.com/video/rBeoJXKaYkw/v-deo.htmlm11s
