That's the cold stats and objective facts. Now, how a song evolving around a strong and funky wah-wah guitar sounds without a strong wah-wah guitar sound, that's something we need to discuss.
@@strangedaysindeed9honestly I like it with some wah. Do you think it’s a case of Tom’s gear doesn’t have the the autowah/filter effect? Trying to think of a performance where he’s used it
I seem to remember when they started The Car tour last year Tom was playing a sort of wah effect on the Crying Lightning verses? It was just single strokes of the Am chord, and really subtle but that’s the only thing that comes to mind…
I was standing in the front row, everybody was singing their lungs out around me. Alex seemed to be in such a good mood, they played do me a favor, someone did crowdsurfing, alex and i had eye contact for a whole line of cornerstone (🥺🥺), it was raining during crying lightning und i headbanged for 6 min body paint straight, damn it best concert of my life, can't wait to see them again in rome 🤩
a whole line??? i would die
yeah its still hard to breathe
@@hallohalli910 i will pray for your lungs 🙏
I saw their show at the United Center here in Chicago, August 27. I can also attest...it was the best concert of my life!
Alex also played Rock Paper Scissors with a crowd member during the pretty visitors solo
I was there and it was just unbelievable
this version sounds amazing, and it's fun to see Alex doing all sorts of things with his hands when he doesn't have a guitar 😀
Was waiting for your upload ever since this returned to the set list 😅
Thanks for the upload! Was my first concert in years and the best one of my life ❤
This song when played live, literally sounds no different to the studio recording! UNBELIEVABLE! 😍
What? It sounds very different. In a good way mostly, it's more energetic. Studio has the strings though.
Icl it sounds better live, it sounds great
They should play science fiction, that song is great live
can you post the other songs from that night too? I was there but further back so all my videos aren't as good x
I will, I will, in due time ;). I only filmed the ones I didn't film this whole tour yet (some 'AM' hits) and the ones which were brought back that night after a few months ('Do Me A Favour' and 'Knee Socks').
@@strangedaysindeed9 okk tyy!!
@@strangedaysindeed9 can't wait for the return of Knee Socks!!
What did you film it with? The quality is amazing.
Was the Jazzmaster used after the roadie brought it out?
No, even though 'Do Me A Favour' was played soon after, Alex Turner didn't even pick up the Jazzmaster for that song (a day or two earlier he did, after almost a year).
jazzmaster is back???
Good eye! It was used the gig before on 'Do Me A Favour'. Here put on the stand by their guitar tech for that song which was next, just so Alex Turner could... eventually not use it at all for the song.
The guitar without the wah effect sounds better, just a little bit of drive and a clean sound
Sin el autowah no suena tan bien
Hey mate, could you tell me if they did teddy picker or when the sun goes down? Tomorrow i have the concert in italy (Rome), thanks
'Teddy Picker' has been an absolute staple the past decade, has been dropped this month, and was back tonight actually. 'When The Sun Goes Down' hasn't been played since August 2014 and it's unlikely it will return any time soon.
Jamie is such a limited guitar player, can't even play such an easy riff so Tom must play it
He's the glue of the band, always dedicated, an unmissable character and eager to guide the band towards a new creative path.
@@strangedaysindeed9 Nice! Do you work with them?
Lol,wat do you say to that first time played since march, brilliant song.❤❤
@@strangedaysindeed9 We know you can't say negative things about them because you're kinda an insider, but he is right, Cook is a limited guitar player.
@@m0line Huh what. I'm not an insider. You can even find criticism on their live performance in this very comment section above/below. I'm not refuting what was being said, I'm adding there's so much more to a band member and guitar player than strict technicality. He's a very solid rhythm guitar player, and all things mentioned above.
