'The era of Motocross parity' ! Hard to find a period in time where 10-12 riders could take the win in a Supercross, but the mid 80's stands out in that regard.

I think if you look at all the winners for every main event race and every season, you will find that is not true. Even with today's redundant tracks that so many guys have wired, where there often are 8-10 guys running on the same fast lap second, you would be hard pressed to see more than 5 winners of any series. I don't like today's tracks that are designed to keep everybody the same speed, instead of separating the talent like in the 80's.

Id never heard that before. I think it’s dreadful how big the #plates are. They look like a bunch of TT riders..

I have a 2019 YZ250 2-stroke, and could not stand the "modern plastic". So I went "Ronnie mac" on the stupid arrow tips, (rear fender, side panels), went to a 2014 front fender, (yes, I had to mill in the correct hole locations), and got rid of the front number plate that looks like a arm shield for the God of thunder, "Thor". I could not find a old school front number plate, so I am turning a Frisbee into one, (because it makes me laugh). I am pretty sure the kids designing the plastic today graduated from the batman school of art. Abstract art (worthless), does not belong on my functional dirt bike. But I thought it was pretty cool for the Bat mobile as a child. The tracks today are like big TT tracks though, (smooth, fast, with a jump in the middle of the straight that can be cleared from a dead stop in the corner before), and they really don't need 12" of suspension travel anymore. Dropping the bikes 2" would do wonders for corner speed. But we don't think functionally anymore. I guess it is the batman plastic binding us. :)
