I was at this race. Had seats right by the triple jump. Great race.

Button, Ward and Craig were never threats to win any titles. Windham should've with all of his talent, but always let the pressure get to him. Hughes was another guy that should've been a threat (but a long shot) to win outdoors. Lusk should've had at least ONE SX title, but injuries always derailed him. Never thought that Albertyn would win any title, with some of the most bizarre crashes that I've ever seen, lol. He certainly was on it in '99 though.

When McGrath got blocked dirty by anyone else he would say “oh that guy rode a great race”, when McGrath would get passed in any fashion by emig he would say “Jeff did me dirty”

1997 McGrath was on Suzuki, 98 he is on Yamaha, and it was two Suzuki loppers that held him up in this race. Coincidence?

Yea, I think it was coincidence. Way too early in the season and I doubt Roger DeCoster would've even ordered that.

Man, I do not miss Art's yelling, phony drama, mispronounced names and "Bar to Bar" BS. Bailey was always great though...
