I am not at all knowledgeable about how fragrances are made, but I'm thinking about getting some books from the library to study up on it. Have you ever made your own fragrances? There is a great company called Arts Set Paris who I'm stalking. They sell sets of bottles of accords and notes you can use to mix up your own fragrances. I want the set that costs $200 bux. Won't be getting it any time soon though.🤣😂🤣 This was so fun Saga! Thanks!
The history of art book came from my grandfather's bookshelf - he was an architect. I totally have been enjoying reading more about how perfume is created, and I think you will as well! (If you end up recommending any, definitely lemme know). I know of a company that offers a similar set like the one you are mentioning, but the pricing was a little closer to $50. Have not tried them yet, but would like to at some point. They smell a lot of aromachemicals and raw materials in bulk and small amounts, which is neat! It's called The Perfume Apprentice. I hope to try one of their beginner kits in the future!
This may not surprise you, but technically I have made my own fragrances? 😂 I was working in the hospital as an EKG tech when Covid-19 first began and well into the pandemic, and DESPERATELY needed an "offline" creative project to do at home. I made my own essential oil blends and used them in soy wax candles! It was a hobby business that was a lot of fun. Looking back, I intuitively did choose some good oil combos, without any research into fragrance beyond the oil to wax percentage and where to source good quality oils at my budget. The "house fragrance" was Rose, Sandalwood, and Vanilla with some spices. It was a natural rose-pink color that shimmered when the wax began to melt. I had another called "Bright Blessings" that was made from orange, rosemary, lemon, chamomile, and another note I can't remember. But it was a bright yellow-orange color. They were fun but a lot of work!
