- The purpose of me requesting they react to songs like these is just to expose them to music they may or may not have heard before, to expand their horizons and to sate my curiosity over whether they will like them or not.
I am responsible for the song choices, what I choose to request so if want to complain about that then that's fair game but if want to complain about Ashtyn or Jon's reaction just remember this is not their channel and by proxy it is very unlikely they will read your comments unless I personally pass the message on next time I speak to them...however I have zero interest in passing on any vindictive, rude or spiteful comments.
They do these for me and I just post many of them here in case other people might also be curious about what they think of these songs too after they send me the videos and I have watched them myself. As mentioned this is not their channel, if you wish to visit their channel it can be found listed below.

Listening to Moody Blues with just 1 ear piece? *Blasphemy!* The cat fight behind them was very entertaining.
One of the most underrated songs ever
How is it underrated?
@@SharttyWaffle I was wondering that myself, I might be wrong but I think it's in Rolling Stones top 100 songs of all time
You are wrong.
This is the most underrated song ever.
Enigma, guys it's a dark gut wrenching song. The lyrics "Nights in white satin never reaching the end" was a gift of white satin sheets from his girl friend just before she broke it off. The lyrics "Letters I have written never meaning to send", think about it. People often write letters to try and win back the person after a break up but, end up never sending them. The lyrics " Gazing at people some hand in hand" brings back memories of the love he had. The lyrics "Just what I'm going through, they can't understand", unless you have had your heart broken, you can't " understand" the pain. Having had my heart broken I cry every time I hear this song. Love your cats, I have three myself.
You missed the full version. There is an epilogue in the original song.
The Moody Blues are from England and this song is a combination of rock and classical music. The genre is progressive rock/psychedelic rock.
Those kittens behind you guys are having a good time! ☺
Thx! You must listen to the ending! It’s.....profound! -Terry from Canoga Park
You have to listen to the full version of this song; not the cut-up version they put out on pop stations. Even if you don't react to it, just listen for yourselves. It's a love song for the ages....
That was a criminally shortened version of this classic. You missed the whole full orchestra climax. Highly recommend you look it up on your own and listen to it.
I appreciate that they both took the time to listen. It should be noted that this is a shorter "single" version, and not the version from the album, Days of Future Passed. In the context of the album, it is more orchestral (so Jon was correct) and part of the climax of the concept album. The whole song, including the concluding poem, clocks over 7 minutes. It was popular on FM radio because it allowed the DJ to pop out for smoke or something a little more... herbal. Ashtyn was astute in finding similarities with the Beatles, as the bands were acquaintances (and even shared a tour together). "Nights in White Satin" was recorded the same year as the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album (1967). Both bands were influential in beginning progressive rock.
In the 60s in which I grew up in America and there was that much American bands around. But the British invasion came and took America by strom...this song is like if you were in heaven.
You reviewed the short version dumbed done for television (bait clip), you should probably look at the extended version Full Version because then you get the whole song about 4 minutes longer. Thank!
you guys have great potential, but you cut half the song and then pay attention to your cats, you dont even try....
Gotta hear the longer version...The video's kind of corny, here, but they were an outstanding group!..You should check out the album called "Blue Jays"..The 2 guys on the right, Singer/Guitarist Justin Hayward, and the Bass player John Lodge (Get it?..Blue J's) cut the album in '75, when they were on hiatus from the group..Fantastic album!..Very Moody bluish, but to my ear even better...Sorry purist MB fans out there..Just my opinion..Anyway, it's a beautiful album..I'm an old dude (63)..I wouldn't steer you wrong (I'm here to help..Lol!)..Another GREAT album is Bowie's "Hunky Dory"..Give it a listen, you won't be sorry!
Seriously beautiful song and I've been listening to the Moody Blues forever 💙💙
All the beauty and drama of this song, and I can't stop laughing at the kittens in the background.
As I'm watching this video, I am thinking: "I wonder how many people are going to mention the kittens wrestling in the background?" One of my all time favorite songs but I couldn't help watch the kitties wrestling. I rescue feral cats so I enjoy seeing cats and kittens playing.
This is really all about the kittens.
I am old and grew up on this song but I had a great time watching your cats :)
"Cats on grey carpet, fight until the end..." ;P
These two are like not meant for video... maybe radio. Just maybe....
you can take a very real spiritual trip with this group. I mean it.
"Nights and Black Kittens....."
jeez you guys have the most miserable reactions of all the people who react on youtube- watching you guys constantly yawning on all your song reviews and looking as enthusiastic as watching a wet Wednesday is like draining....
You turned the song of before it was over. You missed the most dynamic part.
Your kittens are having a fight in the background, funny
Cat fight! Winner...Tiddles the Wonder Cat! As old One Eye.
Well your cats are having fun..... This was a total mind trip " Back in the Day"....
Justin Hayward is a musical genius.
You weren’t paying attention and didn’t listen to the full version of the song.
The 1st time the lyrics played the bit I love you the guy looked at the young lady it said it all :-)
Love watching the Kittens playing.
you cut the song....WTF?.....well, at least the kittens were more fun to watch
You two look so bored!
Maybe, but at least don't pretend anything and always interesting, what they think about 'old' classic songs. :)
They always looked bored 🤣🤣
Great song!! Weird background video. Doesn't due them justice. The singer, Justin Hayward, was only TWENTY ONE when this song was recorded in 1967!!
You missed half the song.
yeah, I noticed that too.....really a shame
Sorry the cat's in the background stole the show lol
An amazingly talented group. The review? Well....
Could they be reminding you of The Kinks? Similar dress etc?
Umm.........she was very nice to look at. The cats stole the show.
One underrated classic
Not underrated, just soo long ago. (My father listened the song in 70's, when was a kid) :)
Hauntingly beautiful
Such a underatted group.
The fighting Cats
Great song, dreadful video
Probably, because made long before MTV and music videos even made. :)
I’m still not sure exactly what the knights in white, sat in.
Are you joking?
Its nights in white satin, refuring to bed sheets of white satin
lydia van Dolder whoooosh
She why are you here more interested in the cats. Keep them out the room . fck sake.
@Czterdziestysiódmy dont be stupid!!! Ah, too late!!!
First and last reaction video of yours which I will watch. Totally lacking in any depth. Minor point, but we should not be seeing your backpack on the couch and kittens playing. The atmosphere such as it is, is completely incongruous to the song's content. No mention of the evocative emotions, such as melancholia or the yearning.
Have either of you ever taken even a high school level lit class?
Sesquipedalian
I agree and won't watch another of their videos. At least pretend to be interested. Also, learn the value of stereo and the use of quality headphones.
I give them credit for even attempting to listen to what can arguably be considered one of the greatest songs of all time. Young people from the present generation are so far removed in temporal space from the era that created such aural spiritual evocations, they can be forgiven for the erosion of attention spans as a consequence of the ever-present artifacts of the Digital Age, or having their palates subjected to far duller modern musical fare.
Major kitten fight at 3:00 o'clock...
and that is when I became Superman 4 the quest for peace
The music of kittens murdering.
I miss you two please come to us.
Hi guys 😊
Could you please react to the Danish/American rockband Volbeat????
They have so manny great songs 😊 Michael Poulsen leadsinger has such an iconic voice ❤
Maybe the song "Lola Montez" or "The lonesome rider" 😊❤
This Song sounds like the End of the World!!!!!!
You mean Beatles Sgt pepper made the same year as that songs album also Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, and most psychedelic music then.
probably the 2nd best song they had, the best (in my opinion) was "the voice", early 80's song......... his voice hasn't changed a bit
Unfortunately, a very naff video of the Moody Blues was selected here.
If you like this one you should listen to Driftwood also by Moody Blues

Please react to this song. Btw Moody Blues did an amazing album called "To Our Children's Children's Children" & personally I prefer the album to NiWS.
In an interview with the band, the song was written about the racial strife in the 60s it’s about a klansman who falls in love with a black women, hence knights in white satin, as some klans wore satin robes, the song has a deep meaning that love ends all boundaries
No it wasn’t…. "I wrote our most famous song, 'Nights in White Satin' when I was 19. It was a series of random thoughts and was quite autobiographical. It was a very emotional time as I was at the end of one big love affair and the start of another.
@@nicholasleonard8905 yes it was.. in an interview with THE MOODY BLUES, one of the band members explained the song. Watch the interview then listen too the song.
@@hammer1794 no offense my guy but justin hayward the writer of the lyrics to the song said its about a girl he loved when he was 18 or 19, fuck what another band member said its about, the writer of it said its about a girl he loved so its about a girl he loved.
@@smokeheaven2990 no offense taken, I saw the interview..and when you listen too the lyrics it makes sense what they said.
@@hammer1794 i def understand how you can get that from it, music is subjective after all, one thing we can all agree on is this is goated song!
PAY ATTENTION KIDDIES!!! Wal like ya!! OK
Miau
Why are you even reacting especially the girl always looking away looks nervous she thinks everyone is looking at her 🤣🤣🤣 please u so borringg bye
I think they were not in touch with their feelings , they will need to have more experience finding and losing love.
Great lyrics compared to the generic crap in nearly every pop tune now
You need to drop the dude
They are happy together and they have a young child, it's not my place or yours to dictate who they should or should not be with. Please try to be respectful of others even at times when you feel someone else is being disrespectful like for example when someone criticizes an artist or song you might like.
It's a hard thing to do and no-one is perfect but at least try. The reason I am telling you this is because I have a 'don't be a dick' policy on my channel and I prefer not to block/ban people if can be avoided...hence the advice rather than just instantly deleting this comment and banning you from commenting on my channel.
