    This just made my day brother, this era of Matchbox is by far the best Matchbox vehicles ever produced. I probably have about 8 or 9 cars out of that catalog and pretty much mint condition, there are others in that catalog that are on my to buy list. That yellow garage thing that was on that one page that is on my list. Always looking forward to seeing what catalog you show next.

      Thanks David! I have a bunch of catalogs coming up...many from companies other than Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Those are fun as I didn't even realize some of the companies existed until I got into the hobby a few years ago lol

    I realized after looking through this catalogue with you that I don't have very many of the King Size vehicles. I have some of the BP Service Station stuff--the pumps & green gas station attendant, & the BP sign, but not the actual station. lol. I also the Esso pumps with the little red gas station attendant. I have about 90 % of the 1-75 A series, about 40 % of the B series models, 30 % of the C series, etc. I've been collecting nice examples for years, but I still don't have all the boxes for what I have, and I'm always on the lookout for things I don't have, or cars in better shape. I have restored about 15 Lesney Matchboxes over the years, gaining the courage to do so after watch you, Lee and Marty's videos. heh. I even customized that Mercury police car into Andy Taylor's police car from the Andy Griffith show. It turned out very nice! I'll send you some photos of it when I get a better camera, Jim

      I’m glad you’ve been restoring them Loston - there’s no reason not to give so many of these old worn castings a go…and even if it goes badly, you can do it again. The joy of the results is always so much fun!

      Thanks Mike! I’ll keep watching your channel for the video of that 1975 issue…assuming you don’t have the “important” pages taped to your bench for inspiration. 🤣🤣🤣

    I’ll have to go back and rewatch this to add to my Diecast thrifting bucket list, I saw some I forgot about.

      That’s what I always enjoy about these - finding things to look for or remembering ones I had long forgotten about.

    So Jealous that you have one of these!! I want a '63 or '64 so much!! I have most of the matchbox cars in here! Love that Evening News truck a lot! It's such a simple little thing--no interiors--but I can see those little newspaper trucks delivering papers in London in the early '60s.

      Really glad you were able to get one Loston! When I got this one and was flipping through it, I knew you were going to like seeing the news truck 👍

    The Rentaset/Tv Service van is one of my favorites. It also was available as a "Radio Rental" van. The antenna and ladder are super important, as are the decals. The roof had a windscreen at the top, and it had the roll top door on the back! Just a lot of play value.

    • @JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms
      @JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms  4 місяці тому

      I wonder how many of them still had the antenna after a week of play? 🤣

      @@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms Well, most of them for sale don't seem to have them, so I imagine they were lost or broken right away. lol. Interestingly enough, I have an original set with metal antenna and ladder, but I have four others with plastic antennas and ladders. Not sure if those accessories were originally metal or plastic? I want to say the metal stuff was the original, but I don't know for sure. Any idea?

      @JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms  4 місяці тому +1

      @@lostonwallace1396 Not a clue for certain, but like you I would think the metal parts were the original...yet everything I find (after doing a little research) only indicates plastic parts so who knows what you might have?

    • @lostonwallace1396
      @lostonwallace1396 4 місяці тому

      @@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms The metal parts look factory, but I suppose that someone could have made a mold of the plastic parts, and then maybe did a lead pouring or something?? I'll try to scan the metal parts if I get a chance this week. It's an interesting little mystery

      @@lostonwallace1396 Maybe someone did some lead pouring...or maybe you've found a prototype of some kind.
