Here's the story behind beating Carrot Top on Star Search as told by Carrot Top

Long before America's Got Talent, there was a syndicated show called Star Search. The winner in each category got $100,000 which is like $500,000 in today's money. It was hosted by Ed McMahon, who later became a friend from doing 17 years of Jerry Lewis Telethons.
In 1992, I had quite a run on the show, and made it to the finals. I famously beat Carrot Top in the Semis, and he uses the clip to start his show in Las Vegas to this day.
Here is the behind the scenes story of that run, as told by Carrot Top himself, and eventual champion Felicia Michaels. I was once again "Close, But No Cigar".
