Joel probably already knows this, but it's sooooo important for him to speak about his pedals regardless of how he feels about doing the demo or speaking about the pedal. Yes we notice the stuttering, but it doesn't take away from why we came to the video in the first place. You're cool for doing what needs to be done Joel.
For those of us watching for awhile now, his progress with his speech is just so inspiring… such a testament to his determination. Kinda also explains how far he’s brought CBA, the talented team that he’s brought together speaks volumes about him as a person.
I stutter too. It has always affected my ability to make friends and interact with groups of people. Telling jokes or making snarky comments can be painful for me because stuttering the punchline just kills whatever chance there was of getting a laugh. You're amazing, bro. Keep it up.
I'm at the airport, and I have been watching demo vids of CBA pedals for hours. I ordered the mystery box, and I am convinced I will be happy with whatever I get. Your stuff is genius.

Is it not I, Yahweh? 12 So now, go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth and will instruct you what you shall speak.” "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind?" Yes Joel ! Love it when you do the demos . Billy Strings is such an original player ! Seen him live a few times now . Absolute legend Looking forward to getting my hands on this bad boy
What I love about a lot of your pedals is I see keyboardists using them just as much as guitarists. And when they use them it’s like a totally different pedal. I’d like to see someone using an Ebow on one of the loopers. I’m really hoping I can afford one someday soon. They are so original.
OMG - Billy use to play in my small city here in northern Michigan! The first time I saw him was at the Horizon Shine cafe at our little book store! And the pedal is super cool sounding!
I've built envelope control into a few phasers I've made/own. On one it sums with the LFO to move the region of sweep around. In another, it speeds up the sweep when you dig in. It's always a step up from an already pleasing sound. Although a great many filters/autowahs incorporate envelope control into them, using it to modulate a modulator pedal is trickier than one would think. In particular, the manner in which any sweep "settles down" is critical to achieving a pleasing "musical" tone, and one that responds to the way in which one wishes to integrate the effect into a given song/piece. From the demos, Joel & Co. have done it right, here. The combination of sensitivity and release controls cover a LOT of bases. My guess, which perhaps Joel will confirm (or not), is that detection of the guitar envelope is done digitally, with suitable error-correction, but the *application* of that detected envelope is done in the analog domain. Joel and I struck up a friendship a decade or so back, when I complimented him on a forum, regarding the internal layout of the original Wombtone, and how he had managed to fit so much in there. I can only imagine that the inclusion of even *more* in this version posed an equal challenge of "Where can we stick THIS and what do we have to shift around to do it?". So, kudos to the whole team on this accomplishment, and staying true to the CBA form-factor.
Just a sidenote to those who are thinking about using it in a vibrato mode. Perceptible vibrato requires a faster minimum speed than perceptible phasing requires. So, the ultra-slow mode will work just fine for phasing, but if you're trying a 100% wet, at a very slow sweep rate, you're going to wonder why it doesn't sound like it's doing anything. That's not the fault of the pedal; it's the fault of the human nervous system. We can't hear pitches that are too high, and we can't hear pitch changes that are too slow.
Just put in my pre-order! I'm a fiddle player by trade, and a phaser is one of my favorite effects for when I want things to get super fun and kinda trippy! A bowed instrument has an entirely different phrasing and articulation to a picked instrument, and I've always loved Chase Bliss stuff, but I've always felt like I could never really use anything you guys made before because it was geared obviously for guitar players. This is a game changer for me, and I can't wait to play many, many gigs with this thing!! Thank you!
I was just thinking about my lack of modulation the other day. I've got a garbage multi-modulation pedal and a pleasingly tasteful chorus. I knew I wanted a more experimental chorus, a flanger, and a tremolo. Thought I'd skip vibrato and phaser. You changed my mind about phaser -- this sounds terrific.
Holly cow! This guy is a freaking legend! If only I could afford them. These are pedals that are going to be looked back on as next level pedals. And dip switches! Geez.... I could spend days on this pedal and just scratch the surface.
I’ve been dying for a Wombtone… this is even better. And it looks awesome. The only issue with Chase Bliss is that each pedal has such a wide range of versatile insanity that you need at least two of them to get the full deal.
I buy almost every Chase Bliss pedal that comes out. I still need to get Onward. I use them with synths, drum machines, and samplers. I ordered one of these assuming it was stereo, but then realized that it wasn't, so ordered another. It's a major GAS move, but I can only image, what using two of these, on a stereo source, will sound like. I'm not a huge phaser fan, but this thing doesn't sound like a typical phaser.

I've spent more hours than I care to admit thinking over if I should put the Habit before or after another pedal.
The Habit is actually the main reason I put a patch bay in. 🤣
"It's slow mode, so it goes slow." 💯
Since things are controlled electronically and there are 6 stages, would it be possible to add a function to access 3 and 5 stage phasing?🤔Getting one anyways, just was curious if it’d be possible?😀
It is likely possible, but not with the current hardware the pedals uses. It would require more than a firmware update to achieve.
@@ChaseBlissAudio I figured it wouldn’t be easy! If you ever try something like that or want to, let me know as I’d definitely be interested!!
Why only for USA?😢
Does this pedal have less hiss than MKii? That was my only very mild complaint before.
OMG slow mode rules!
12:00 really starts sounding like two guitars
Omg no more crazy resale prices and I can own the ultimate phaser
Limited to 3k units, so jump on it fast if you want to pay retail.
@@mikecerame9008Where did they say limited to 3000? Was really hoping this one wouldn’t be limited
i have the MKII and it's way more pedal than i can handle. but it's great! i don't feel the need for this...and I arguably don't need the MKII, but i'm keeping it because it's special to me!
