Mothership VII and VIII were necessary for it’s time and within her collection. Mothership IX was disappointing, but X was not because I don’t consider moonlit seductive pink at all! Sunlit seduction is going to have great sales as well. Although there are complaints, ppl are buying.
Yes you are right I love Mothership VII so much my fav and VIII was ok for me. MTHSHP X was great! I don't know anything about their sales and how they did overall but if it does well or not I hope her team is listening to us :-) all I can do is hope.

You have plenty of time to decide friend 😅👌🏼❤️ you could always wait for the numerous sales coming our way especially once October comes 😀 unless this is a color story that calls to you & is daily friendly for you; you could easily pass and or wait to see what she offers for this holiday season; either new quads or her mega holiday palettes which are typically really pretty with nice shades & are a better deal money wise than this last mothership 😅 hope this helps ❤️🥰
First off you and your looks are STUNNING !! 😩👌🏼❤️🥰🤩😍 this palette is beautiful … it’s just again another run of the mill palette which no longer contains her super delicious baked special shades 🤷🏻♀️😅😒 since selling part of her company she seems to be answering to her investors & NOT to her diehard fans 😤 I only hope this turns around as PMGL was at the top of the makeup artistry game for years ❤ I got this palette during the “intentional glitch” & got 30% off …. Otherwise I prob would’ve passed or waited for one of her sales … I own ALL her motherships; quads; quints & 99% of her holiday palettes etc … again this palette wasn’t intended for me but more intended for those that don’t own all the MS’s & are looking to try this brand out … I’m not angry at those who love this palette but I’m just disappointed as one of her all time diehard fans 😢 alas it’s just makeup that none of us need so those that don’t like it can simply skip it 🤷🏻♀️👌🏼 thanks for this video & your thoughts & gorgeous looks ❤️😍

I didn’t know she sold part of her company now I understand a bit more the business decision that maybe she might be having to make in the same token though she has gain this status because of all of her fans and people that love her artistry so they should really consider that as well. I’m not mad at the colour story but I am disappointed with the quality of the special shades. I really had high hopes in particular for the Amethyst shade but it isn’t an Astra shade, it is actually the same formula as the grey metallic in Moonlit Seduction. It’s has quite a dark base and fades. It’s just a metallic with glitter. Thanks for the inspiration for the looks. 💖

This palette is a test pat is tryna see if she can get away with selling worse quality shadows and packaging for the same price and tryna see if her customers are dumb enough to buy it please prove her wrong
The brand has been changing the formula since the holiday quads a few years ago along with smaller pans ….. in the lacquer cases nothing new . This is not a test. 😂
I agree the special shade quality is not the same. I don’t agree that PML is trying to get away with conning people. The palette is actually cheaper and after the pandemic everything is more expensive. Instead of putting prices up and losing sales. PML has decided to lessen the quality, slightly reduce the price in order to try to maintain sales. It’s a business strategy but personally I would prefer a price increase and the quality being of the original motherships. The expectation on PML is much higher than any other brand.

This is exactly what I’ve been saying. Some of these beauty brands are banking off of selling really sloppy products. They don’t put a lot of thought into them. They have such a cult following that people continue to buy their crap. I realize some of the palettes are good but some are not!
I also cannot help but notice that the fourth special shades are pressed in a pan and are not BAKED into the pallet. LIKE She has done for every mothership ….until now. What is going on? Is she merely putting out what Sells? Pat Prided herself on her Artistry and Uniqueness, and that was seen in her first few motherships …. These last few are basically copy cats. Where is the creativity? It’s so disappointing and now that Pat McGrath is at Ulta. I found really shocking. … She still charging High end price but this pallet is not her high-end formulas. Well, she has got to be aware how we feel not that she cares because we’ve been saying it for the last two pallets …. But let’s see what happens Christmas .. maybe we’ll get something special to justify the price. That would be nice.
Beautiful looks! I just received mine today and to be honest, I'm not even excited to use it. It's easily dupable with my collection. I have over 40 PM palettes that have these shades over and over. I really hope next year she releases a different colorstory, greens, blues, purples..... one can only hope🙏

@GerelMatta I prob came off the wrong way... I'm sure I will enjoy it because her formula is superb! The mattes are so buttery, and while it is a beautifully stunning palette, I'm just meh about it. I just collect and use all her palettes and everything she releases so it will take something totally different from a pink, gold, or brown colorstory to wow me
believe me, i would be happy just with some neutrals for mattes, and get the colourful stuff on the metallics. i would even take one pink or rosegold metallic. it is the pink mattes that make everything so boring and unexciting at this point
@GerelMatta I finally used it and created 6 looks on my IG, and surprisingly, they were all very different! I really like this palette, but is it my favorite? No. But I'm glad to have it in my collection. The special shades were pretty but not like previous special shades. I think prefer pairing this with my other palettes for more diversity. It did surprise me at how much I ended up liking it. 👍
The second look is beautiful, and yes, pairing those two shades would make a beautiful quick look… However, if you noticed the first three shades, you used basically look the same .. the outer corner was slightly deeper but not much at least on camera… I don’t know what Pat was thinking .. who knows maybe she’s no longer in a leadership role and doesn’t have a choice. She has made her millions maybe she’s stepping down from responsibilities …. Who knows but I wish she would speak to it to her loyal customers, because we’re all dumbfounded….
If you were already disappointed in the color story based on the promotional material, why would you buy it and complain about it? That makes no sense. 🙄
Can we all just stop complaining. Yes it is a pink palette. Do not buy it when you have 10 of them. Stop bashing the brand after you received the palette - you did not buy it eyes closed and it feels to me all of these youtubers are ranting just for the clicks. My 2cents.

The thing about Pat's palettes iit isn't the mattes or special shades, but those metallics and satin shades that you layer them with!
Those special baked shades are transformative toppers... those are the ones you can layer with
