“Hail a new queen of soul,” said the London media in 2011 after Aruna Sairam became the first Carnatic vocalist to have performed at London's Royal Albert Hall in the 116-year history of the BBC Proms.
Vidhushi Aruna Sairam's first guru was her mother, who was coached by the famous Alathur brothers. By the time she reached Vidhushi TV Brinda, her first guru outside home, a ten year old Sairam, born and raised in Mumbai, could sing compositions in 150 Carnatic ragas and each varanam in six progressively geometrical speeds.
There is almost no genre Aruna Sairam hasn't tried and tested. Whether it is Carnatic classical, Hindustani, folk, abhangs, bhajans, jazz, rhythmic chants or MTV Coke Studio fusions; whether it is singing in Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, or Punjabi, she has made each melody her own, mesmerising audiences with her dexterous vocal timbre and zeal to conquer new ground.
With a string of prestigious national and international awards and honours to her credit, including the Music Academy's Sangita Kalanidhi award (2018) Padma Shri (2009) and the US Congress Proclamation of Excellence (2008), Sairam is a musical ambassador spreading the reach of Carnatic music to the world.

💖💕💖 î-mi încântă sufletul atât să o ascult cât în aceeași măsură să o privesc . măestrie în voce cât și în felul de interpretare .Pentru mine se alătură câtorva voci din lumea asta , a căror voce--suflet , transmite nu o muzică -- melodie ,ci o energie care î-ți poate deschide universul , î-ți dă putere de înțelegere-- bine înțeles cu ajutorul lui Dumnezeu . tranzmite Forță și blăndețe in acelaș timp . Ascultănd parcă am călătorit și eu împreună. Ce lecție de interpretare și mai ales cântată din suflet . De altfel să duci constat la acelaș nivel de a cânta tot concertul ,nu poți cânta altfel decât cu sufletul și ,desigur calitatea vocii mulțumesc mult

The Venu @ 25:00 stole our hearts just as much as the Shabdha Brahmamayi....Meenambike with the Italian verses on Mary inspired our imagination in Vasudeiva Kutumbhakam, and the tillana at the end made us jump in joy.....wonderful team effort led by Smt. Aruna SaiRam.

1.The e tanpura is too loud n playing throughout .
2.The tabala n mridhangam are not in sync at many places .
3.Flute was barely used .
4.I personally felt harmonium was not necessary at this performance.
But the performance was great as aruna sairam uplifted the music .
N tat cameraman is focusing more on only the pretty ladies , like the violinist , n some in the audience .
I've seen many concerts of aruna , won't say this was her best .
But definitely not to blame her!
