Excellent Excellent Excellent. Mind boggling concert from the evergreen vidushi smt Aruna sairam madam.
Some of us have been listening to the great lady vocalists from the 40s . In this regard we are grateful to this stupendous artiste mentioning the inimitable N. C. Vasanthakogilam whose perfect voice enthralled many afficionados of classical singing from about eighty yrs ago. Of course , this considered comment in no way decries the other excellent singers she mentions.
Great artist with multitudes of talent. While dedicating to Dr. MLV by singing " Margazhi thingal" she does the magic and creates an illution of covering the first five songs of Thruppavai (as rendered by Dr. MLV) by converting it into a ragamaliga covering Nattai, Gowlai, Aarabi, varali and Sri in which the first five songs are rendered by the great MLV Amma. Hats off to the talent and the genius of Dr. Aruna Sairam amma!
I am a devoted fan of this lady. Excellent. What else you can say? Jai Hind.

Madam Paada PraNamums , it is not a an explanations /anecdotes/memories, it is a beautiful historical lessons to the musicologist, new entries, and world music students, a book for the reading personalities regarding south Indian composers/singers

Very disappointed.
I was repulsed by this programme. The harsh grating voice of the artist and unwanted theatrical gestures marred the whole idea of the programme. How unsweet!
I kind of agree, age is beyond anyone's control right. I like her attitude the most.

Absolutely right she killed the beauty of varali in the kalpana swara! She just shouts without giving emphasis to the gamakas and swara sthanas !
