@Chief vera, Nne you are truly in a class of your own with your FANTASTIC vlogs! I love how you expertly combine both aerial and ground-level imagery of the area while giving a fantastic verbal narrative! I am truly wowed by this vlog, not just because you combined aerial view, you did it at a level of professionalism seen in BBC or CNN documentaries! It's truly powerful! I love Wode Maya's documentaries because they follow exactly this format and i am sure that is why it is so popular globally. Thank you so much for constantly improving your game! I am so so impressed with this vlog! Perhaps why I am so happy is that you have introduced this level of professionalism in vlogging that I hope many vloggers will emulate so that very soon, we will have the entire SE and SS filled with true professionals.
My Sister Vera,...this is one of your best videos. You brought back my memories of good old days. I am a Coal Camper who lived in Coal Camp from when I was small till I became a man. I lived in Calabar Street and also Chukwuani street. We lived our good coal camp lives then with most of our meet up places at Spring garden 42 Calabar Street and upper Chukwuani street. I want to let everyone know that Coal Campers are one of the most progressive people in Nigeria. Never count out a Coal Camper just because of his present condition, because good luck always finds them at last/some day. I was once a no person in Coal Camp, but after all those hussle and lows, I made it around the world before finaly settling in the UNITED STATES. I know most of the people you interviewed, most especially the gentleman who spoke about the masquerade, they are good people with good heart. I URGE ALL CAMPERS OF ALL AGES NEVER TO GIVE UP IN ALL THEIR GOOD ENDEAVORS, because coal Campers has the progressive God of success by their sides at all times. May God bless my people of Coal Camp, and it shall be well with all of us. God bless you Chief Vera and your Crew members for this beautiful informative and organized video.
Nice one nne, thank God I featured in the video. I still implore every coal camper to join hands in assisting the young ones around. There are so much talent in camp! Thanks again Vera!
Good camera work and use of music. I noticed you didn't stall or start talking nonsense. It was a steady stream of facts. Glad to see you included interviews with Igbo speakers (please include sub titles where necessary). The world must know that there's an Igbo language. Watch videos in Ghana, Yorubaland or Hausaland and you realise they aren't shy to speak their native tongue. I would only ask locals not to clear the hillsides and hilltops of vegetation as it promotes soil erosion and land slides. You're doing really well.
Good job Vera. You have come a long way. I could see a lot of improvements in your vlog. You’re sure going places, which I am sure you will. I don’t know if you will remember me , I still have my assignment, waiting for the appropriate time. You touched on it in this vlog
Beautiful view of Brodrick street from Stuttgart. Coal Camp is the commercial hub and parent of Enugu neighborhoods. Thumbs up Chief Vera. Beautiful videos
I subscribe to your channel from dyna because I love everything about Enugu city. Am missing it so much, now I can be feeling at home with your channel
It is now time for we the people to join hands together to develop our area, as it has now become clearer that those in government for whatsoever reasons best known to them have failed woefully to do so. Weldon sis, your work is highly appreciated and I would love to meet you in person anytime it becomes possible for me to visit Enugwu again. I truly admire and love your work...do keep it up 👍
Great stuff. Detailed exploration Vera. This is where I began. Touchy when I viewed that long primary school building left to St Patrick Catholic Church where I did my primary one in 1975. Keep the good work. More power to your elbow.
@@Chiefvera Hopefully next year Xmas when this horrible Covid pandemic will be under control. Hoping to book our flight by March next year. Will like to see Aniocha stadium ( St Peters) where I played football with Kingsley Ogbodo and Okwuchukwu Obiora aka Agarimojo of Rangers FC in the eighties.
Chief Vera, WoW! That was so beautifully done ✔. I'm so proud of you and the 👍 great effort you have shown in this segment. I grew ☝ up in Coal Camp like a lot of people of my generation. The main characteristic of "Coal Camp" life in those days is the spirit of "oneness" that existed among the residents of the area. It was very unique because everyone lived like one big family irrespective of religion, gender, tribe, town of origin, disability or dialect. I'm yet to see any community that functions with such an efficiency in this modern era. A lot has changed immediately before the war and thereafter. In hindsight, the Coal Camp community was a small city with a big ❤ heart. The area was very clean and planned like a lot of modern towns in the present developed nations. The residents were dynamic and positive in their attitudes. In today's standard, the community will be considered a " Middle Class" neighbourhood. But at the time, class was not a thing. Lawyers and Bricklayers lived on the same street. Doctors and Traders were neighbours. The list goes on and on. The positive forces were so prevalent that failure was a rarity. Coal Camp community produced a lot of successful generation of doctors, engineers, lawyers, artists, business men and women etc. I most definitely miss the place.
You are improving so well in your video productions.definitly you will go far. Keep improving soon you will go beyond wode waya. We don't know how to take care of heritage..if coal camp is in London it's only the elites can afford such a place. How I wish our Government will go back to putting things properly the way it suppose to be.keep it up your doing well.
Thank you. We can only get better. About the government and coal camp, someone shared similar concerns with me over the weekend. Its heartbreaking that they dont consider these things.
Thank you for this video. I was able to see my old church, St. Patrick's where I was a Mass servant in the seventies. The old church is still standing and the bell tower that wrings at noon for the call for Angelus is still standing. Ejindu Street where I grew up before moving to Obianodo street was partially featured. Nostalgia overload my friend. Thank you for your sweet and pleasant commentaries.
That was a truly powerful documentary. And to know the Iva Valley coal miners strike and massacre triggered a cascade of events that led to the agitation to end British rule and Independence of Nigeria, makes this area almost sacred.
Congrats on your aerial upgrade, wishing you more growth. I was carried away by the aerial views. The coal camp is quite delapidated. Chris Ngige was a coal camper. There are lots of interesting things/places in Enugu
As always Vera, You've done a great job. This video is very informative and refreshing. Never knew all those people grew up from that community 😊 keep up the great work 😍😊

That football field should be upgraded with artificial turf. Utaka brothers or anyone who is willing, should take the lead. Gov ugwuanyi is only interested in ugly billboards, no plan or sound idea. When the next governor comes, he should build an automobile parts city outside the metropolis, tar the road, build stores and warehouses and plan it well. A bank lyk fidelity can pump 15billion naira into it and complete it in 2yrs, then people will pay up. That is what we mean by governance, not this gburugburu circus show.

What I can understand is that Enugu started from here and grow to a merge city today
If Nigeria was an actual working counter this place is supposed to be a mini city . But no we’re focusing on oil only
