Tending to help witches, not kill them. For instance, she led the Salem witches. She didn't kill them. She occasionally does evil things in the comics but usually uses her powers for good. She's also depicted as a very old witch in the comics instead of what we see in the show. And as far as I am aware, her witch drain power doesn't exist in the comics. At least, it's not an innate ability she just has.
