We can complain about prices all we want but until all these customers stop buying these trucks for these ridiculous prices then the car companies will continue to raise the prices year after year.
Some of “these” customers actually use their trucks to make a living. Some of “you” truck customers with your ridiculous truck wants are the reason our work tools (trucks) cost so damn much. So if you don’t need a truck for work, buy a damn Camry.
This is 100% what i want from a truck.....and yes i'd still buy ford considering chevy's 2.7 base engine just had a recall for millions of cracked blocks last month Price is to be expected. I'd still buy a couple years used, maybe 70k miles, probably get it for 20 sum

It's been going that way for a looooong time. A friend of mine bought a Chevy 4x4 new back in the late '80s. She was really upset that she could only get cloth seats and not vinyl. She owns a horse farm, and this was her farm truck.
Yeah, all the price is for the insane payload (a metric ton is no joke). And I'll agree about trucks riding smoother than ever: my stepfather got my cousin's old '91 Dakota that we kept for several years and it rode like a drunk mule until the door fell off.
i just completed the lease app for a $51,000 tesla model y since my kia eniro lease is expiring... and that tesla has a $7500 rebate along with some others dropping it to $42,000. thats just mindblowing that the model y is cheaper... and its going to be living next to my coyote 2014 f150 which still runs like a clock and looks lot new.
Wife and I share our 2023 Model Y and I'm in this exact predicament getting a second car for me. I'd like a truck but a lightly used 2022+ Model 3 is like 25k in the used market. No maintenance and half the price.
I remem er my dad saying in 1980 his new regular cab longed ford two-wheel drive with the 300 inline 6 was 4300 put the door. These trucks are getting ridiculously expensive. When I got out of school a regular cab truck was right at 14000 with no options. And they lasted way longer to.
Don’t feel bad, I’ve got a 23 super cab 2.7 with the 6.4 bed and that longer bed screws me up parking too, not sure why the thing should be the same length as my 17 crew cab was, ain’t figured this out yet. Love the little longer bed, don’t mind the suicide back doors and the 2.7 Ecoboost is unreal, my 2nd one, the first not a single problem in 94k, but the doors did stick when it got cold, the 23 no doors froze this winter🤣😂🤣😂
During a cold snap back in the day, all four doors froze on Mom's car- while we were in it. So we drove to the local garage, and they let us park it inside until it thawed out.
Ben, I compared Chevrolet's 2024 1500 WT SCAB, V-8, 2WD, LWB ($42,670.00) to Ford's 2024 F-150 XL SCAB, V-8, 2WD, LWB ($45,170.00) yesterday. Turns out the Chevrolet was $2,500.00 cheaper than Ford and get this..... I was able to equip Adaptive Cruise Control. You have to select two trim levels higher to get that as an option. RAM doesn't even come close to Chevy why I didn't bother.
This is a tax right off for corporations, not for the average consumer, which the sbort bed single cab is for. That's why the short bed only has the V8 and comes in more colors than Oxford White on the lot if you can find a regular cab on the lot.
The price will drop give it a few years but still it would be perfect. I love going to the mountains getting a wood permit with my chainsaw and family. You’re probably put I guess two cords or more in that truck🤨💪🏼😎
I want one of those for a daily driver it’s got everything I want I don’t need the crew cab I prefer the column shifter it’s comfortable enough to get me by it comes standard with the 2.7l ecoboost the standard model is 36,000 on the Ford website witch isn’t bad I found out ordering it on the website is cheaper then the dealer and the price on the website the dealer has to honor even if their price is higher they have to honor the price by Ford rules of course by the time I’m ready it’ll probably have even more features standard hopefully the XL will still come standard with the column shifter I like it probably will it’ll make a nice truck to own
Scotty kilmer just posted how Ford didn't sell a single new truck last month. I think buying a car brand new is wild anyways, just get it as asecond buyer get at least 5k off.
What Scotty doesn’t tell you is that a “sale” is a sale of a 2024 truck from Ford to a dealership. Considering the stockpile of 2024 trucks around Dearborn, that is no real surprise. Temporary blip. So to summarize: no dealership purchases from Ford for 2024 trucks, but dealerships did sell trucks to customers last month.
I blame covid/lockdown. I bought my 2019 single cab f150 for 22k with 9k miles on it 2 months before lockdown. I fear we will never see prices like that again
I think $46k is still way too much. They can keep it till the going out of business signs start going up. Then dealers will start too fire sale everything or the bank will, just to get out from under all these cars and trucks.
The reason pickup trucks have become so expensive is because people are buying them as "lifestyle vehicles". Please stop glorifying the pickup and let the contractors do their work.

Love a single cab pickup, the purest form of truck. Its job is not to move your family around, it's to move tools, feed, lumber, etc.
But not for that price.
$46k for a single cab?!?! HELL NAW they can keep that shit until it sells below 40k
