DQ IX you were able to get the full set of Edricks Armor to wear. DQ XI has the DQ 3 armor to dress up the hero.
For the record, the voice actor on the "type A" hero is also responsible for Link's classic noises from Ocarina of Time and Smash Bros Melee, Joe Higashi in the Fatal Fury series, and Hero's DQ 3 skin in Smash Ultimate.

@@dukey03I am curious what it will be like on the English side, like if ramia the bird has lines will they have the VA from 8 reprise. Outside of Jessica the dub cast are actually pretty consistent so far in the games such as reprising the 4 cast who voiced them in heroes to reprises in monsters 3

I want this game as my last game i get for my switch and i move on with my daily life
I hope with all the stuff they're adding to DQ3, we can also choose to play a girl hero in 1 and 2.

That would be interesting, maybe make it that you can change the sexes of all three mains in Dragon Quest II HD-2D as well. Imagine it, instead of Prince of Cannock, you have Princess of Cannock and instead of Princess of Moonbrooke, you have Prince of Moonbrooke. This would actually be cool as hell.

fuck dude, dq3 is THE classic rpg.
it influences basically every other rpg we know today.
so even though its not my personal favorite in the series, to see it like THIS is just amazing.
this new remake just might make 3 my new favorite.

Goddamn does this look gorgeous. I hope that IV, V & VI also get an HD-2D remake as well. I'd welcome this. I look forward to seeing Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D and what they add to these games as well.

the Male Hero I believe is voiced by Hei's Yu Yu Hakusho's JAPANESE dub Actor.

However while the game WILL get a English dub I'm not sure whom Square Enix will use for the voice actors but Hei and his ENGLISH Dub Yu Yu Hakusho actor is still alive so is Videl's American voice actress from DBZ/Super.
Damn, the visuals look so nice. I know I'm eventually going to get the game but not at launch so hopefully it ends up being a truly faithful remake.

Unfortunately, I'll still have to wait to play it. I'm marathoning Monster Hunter, Wilds is my most anticipated game for next year.
Agree's but at least the Visions of Mana and the IMPORT version of Kai No Kiseki IE KURO 3 will keep myself busy for the next 2 to 3 months theirs also that New Mario and Luigi JRPG for the switch but ITS release date is like 1 week before this DQ3's remake is so I won't have time to play that one despite and most of those Mario and Luigi RPG's aren't even like 10 to 15 HOURS long.

Oh my god, that’s beautiful. Can’t wait to pop this into my Switch.
Outfits would be fun to mess around with since that was one of my favorite things in DQ9 when they would actually show up when equipped. DQ9 seriously needs to be on modern consoles w/ access to online for the inn guests that give their outfit, did one run in DQ9 where i used armor for Deborah, Jessica, Maribel and the Moonbrooke Princess w/ the armor not obtained by them filled in w/ other equipment. If it didn't involve cheats i would do a run to have a team wearing the equipment for heroes of the different games.
There's a cat costume in DQ3 original on Switch, it shows up your characters.
I know my starting party for the remake will be Hero/Monster Master/Mage/Priest.
Novemeber cannot come soon enough.
@@blueythedragonknight3949 I have no idea what my party is going to be tbh. I hope changing job classes is more like how it is in DQ9 and 10. If so, I’d be happy to try them all. If not.. I might go Hero, Martial Artist, Monster Master, Priest. I usually go with a similar party, but swap the Monster Master with Merchant for that early game extra gold
Job grinding without Whistle is a bad idea but originally Jester/Goof off lv 13 was the only one with it SNES onwards versions of the game so for me learning it ASAP and having the Thief in the party due to the changed tiny medal locations is a must + Monster masher in order to do the arena fights ASAP is a must.

Call it an intuition, but I got a feeling that class changing has been tweaked to make reclassing more viable.
And speaking about the connection to DQ11, willing to bet that in DQ3 HD2D postgame you would have to return to Aliahan and go home. Youll notice the bookshelf giving a weird light. Investigate and ??????
By changes in Alltrades Abbey, I mean the priest there has two functions: *class change* and *revocation*
Class change let's you switch to any class and stats are adjusted based on a set of parameters, something like in DQ6/7
Revocation resets a character's level back to 1 and halves all stats, just like the original game.
@@ahmedfalahy9337 Yeah, I’m really hoping the class system works more similar to DQ9 and 10. So changing classes would bring you back to Level 1, but with the stat increases you’ve gained from the bottom Skill Tree in other classes. Also; going back to previous classes would keep their levels.
As far as the DQXI thing; that would be cool!

Speaking of skill trees, I wonder if that function from DQ9/10/11 is brought into DQ3 where levelling up gives you skill points to allocate in a skill tree.
One more thing is I do hope Alltrades Abbey has a use for the hero. In the original game, Alltrades Abbey is useless for the protagonist but maybe something can be changed to help solo runs? 😅

I hate the skill tree system only because its WEAPON specific so even with EVERYTHING learn you still can't USE Sword skills with Spear etcs equipped so I still prefer that this remake of DQ3 KEEPS the lv up to lv 40 etc for learning skills/spells though due to some of the DQX spells being added into this remake it may actually take 60+ lvs to learn the Final white/black mage spells in that case don't USE the Sage class after lv 40 it takes forever for it to lv up unless Metal King Slimes get added to this remake that is.
You know, I miss DQIX. Do you think they'll ever remake that?

Go back to the battle picture. You missed a very important new feature; color coded hints that an enemy is weak to an element; the Kong's are taking higher damage, and the damage number is coloured red.
Also, not a spear, that's an up arrow, implying a buff. They're very similar to the ones used in DQ11. If I had to guess, based on how many weapons of each type are in DQ3, and how many new weapons might be added, there isn't enough to qualify for unique weapon skill trees ala 8, 9, and 11. I think it more likely a general skill tree, and weapon to skill associations more commonly used with 5, and especially 6 and 7.

@@dukey03 Nope, if you watch the Famitsu play, 30 minutes long, there's no crit sound, and the damage is consistently red on the same enemies for the same spell type. Spell damage is also increased, and it looks like we have either wisdom scaling or they increased the damage output and range of every spell. Though looking at the higher increase over the previous iterations of mage versus priest spell damage? It looks almost certainly like Wisdom Scaling.
So we have a full elemental system ala DQ's 9/10/11, so weakness as well as normal and resistance, AND wisdom scaling.

spear ability? you do know back then those abilitys in like 6 were like, anything goes, no weapon needed just ability you can use
@@drmedicechsrick8702 yeah, they could be going either way with them. It’s just more likely they’ll be using the more modern approach. Remember DQ7 on PS1 where you could use every single ability you’ve learned in every previous job class 🤣? That was the best!
Correct but the 3DS remake of DQ7 changed it so that ONLY the BASE HUMAN classes + all 32 monsters classes only kept Everything so if you wanted to spam Ultra hit on the 3DS version you HAD to stay IN the Godhand class itself.
@@veghesther3204 yeah, they nerfed it like crazy in the 3DS remake; and I don’t necessarily blame them because in the PS1 version I would get Tidal Wave as early as possible and just spam it for most of the game 🤣
Tidal Wave in DQ7 SUCKS anyways not only can it miss when it does connect its only like 30 to 40 damage so by the time JOBS first unlock the Paladin/Dragoon (Gladiator) and Godhand skills the ones that DO 100 to 150+ DAMAGE to everything and NEVER miss is so much better.
Due to a 2016 Earthquake in Japan Tidal Wave (Tsunami) got removed from the 3DS DQ7 game which is ok since it still SUCKS.
@@dukey03 just like in 6, but in 7 only base classe you could take the skills, the adcanced ones like paladin you had to be that one, or maybe that part was only for the 3ds remake
I heard rumor that the puff puff is removed…….. can’t believe the dq in game joke gag is gone……. It’s not a dq game with the puff puff gag……… Like how my butcher Maya from dq monster game on the Switch…..

@@dukey03 the rumor I heard from is from that park place news so I am trying to pray, but again. The last dq monster game did was pushing it too far. I already know square enix try to leave sony for whatever reason but clearly not the esg and dei madness sadly.
Even the shareholder asked square enix their concern about dealing with sweet baby face and try to not sound not to panic over it and yet at the sweet baby face site…….. they’re still part of that disaster company that kills game developers and companies…..
I am not putting alot of hope, but not discouraging others to buy it as my bigger fear not only removing gender and using the bad translation from the “HD” version, but removing some of the aspects cores that made dq. I want to keep what the original dq 3 as it was before and not some weird agenda nonsense and already have lost interest in ff7 with going to the multiverse route nonsense.
I dealt ff games crazy stuff over the years and find the 1st, 5, 6, 7, and 10 best ones and anything afterward (except mmo 14 one since that mmo) gotten worst. I used to like kh before but after waiting a sequel and how the sequel story was bad and kept waiting where disney itself lost almost everyone going to the political cultists evil madness nonsense while shielding themselves while being hypocrites of that shield. I lost interest in kh as well and see it just nonsense game with no plot at all.
Sorry. I just getting tired of people killing games for an imaginary credit that even worst than cryptocurrency and how square enix been making more and more poor decisions over the past years. I won’t be surprised if the rumor of removing puff puff is true and JUST a guess, but they will remove the swimsuits or any sexy outfit in the game with the possibility of removing the jester class…….

They have been renamed to "type A" and "type B".
calling her "type B" just makes her sound like "the inferior erdrick" or "that OTHER erdrick".
and i dont think that's fair to such an iconic character.
i get theyre tryna be inclusive and whatever, but when you try to be too inclusive you wind up being exclusive instead.
dq3 was the first game in the series, possibly the first rpg EVER, that came out and said "hey. this might be seen as a 'boys franchise', but girls can play too."
"this is for everyone."
and now it looks like theyre taking that away.
