I have a question, in the case of thymus transplantation, how does the positive selection occur? If the T-cells get restriction of the transplant MHC how do they work if they can't recognise the MHC in the rest of the recipients body? I found a paper (Thymus transplantation by Markert, Devlin and McCarthy) where they referenced to a murine study where thymocytes present to each other, also they comment on another found of epithelial cells from recipient in donor lungs, however this there had been found no evidence for in thymus transplant studies in animals or humans. So is this process still not entirely understood or has there been problem with patients t-cells function in thymus transplants? Or maybe I've missed something.

Thanks for the wonderful content, Brianne! Sooo is it called a thighmus when it's transplanted in a child? 🤒🥳
