- My guitar solo cover of Repentance, fifty track from Systematic Chaos by Dream Theater. I proudly play an Ernie Ball Music Man JP6 mystic dream.
Repentance is the fourth chapter of Mike Portnoy’s Twelve-step Suite, which is a five part progressive song extended through Dream theater’s different albums. In this video I cover John Petrucci’s solo from this song.
This is a very melodic and calm solo by John Petrucci, with a lot of feel. Very interesting in this solo is the fact that is constructed over the chords and Petrucci flows with the key changes, aware of the chords beneath. It also has some Pink Floyd vibes in it as well as the entirety of the song. I hope you do enjoy my cover!
