      Thank you! I do actually have a blog tutorial on drawing castle icons similar to this on my website which you could check out. Eventually I’d like to do some more on different styles of icons, but the principles are the same 😀

    Using masks is a clever technique. I always just use the eraser directly on the paper texture layer in various spots, but that is more destructive. Masks are obviously way safer, but can you still add a mask layer if you've already maxed out your layers in Procreate?

      The layer number limit is the problem you can run into if you’re using Procreate or really any other drawing app on a tablet. It does count against your total layer count. In those situations, I do still use an eraser tool and it will work just fine. Glad you found the tutorial helpful!
