I still remember when Sumdurung Chu happened. I remember the public differences between General Sundarji and Rajiv Gandhi. General Sundarji was the most daring General Independent Indian Army ever had. He was also the architect of Operation Brasstacks. General Sundarji was the Indian version of General Erwin Rommel. Had he been in charge today we would have recaptured some of the Indian territory lost to China in 1962.
You hit the nail on the head - they are bullies. They will attack if they think they are a lot stronger and they will back off if the adversary has an even chance. In one word, they are cowards.
Great reminder and great narration. My humble tribute to Gen Sundarjee. My salute to Gen Narhari, Gen Singh, Gen. Verma and IA and IAF. Thanx. Jai Hind.

Yes.. Dr Chatterjie is right about SSB bit only up to a point. And there's a lot more to Sumdrong Chu than what has been said above. .. The inside stuff..
Brilliant channel Nitin, I have been flowing you since my teenage years. Always a delight to watch you speak. Very well researched, good old patriotism and no hubris or jingoism like Republic TV. I greatly admire and respect you for your effort towards authenticity & accuracy, being pro-India while not being hateful against anyone.
In this day n age, journalism has become an art, to put a spin on facts this gentleman comes as a breath of fresh air , stating the facts the way it happened , humble demeanor with expert knowledge .
Thanks for this EP. on the similar lines, I would request you to do a piece on the battle of 1967. Last year I read this book - Watershed 1967: India's Forgotten Victory Over China. I feel this chapter doesn’t get its fair share of history.
In 1966-67, India very effectively thwarted Chinese misadventure at the Sikkim-China border through Nathula pass which China never expected. Since then Indian military power and fighting spirit were viewed with respect by the Chinese. During the Bangladesh war in 1971, China was coaxed by Nixon and Kissinger to open fronts to weaken India, but China did not venture because the bitter memory of the last confrontation was still fresh in their minds.
For people like me, who have recently started following Defence and Strategic affairs, this is a fantastic channel as I get to know about the various operations that happened in the past.
My Salute to Major Gen. Singh & Lt. Gen. Narhari!! Be it 1947, 1962, or 1971, Officers of Indian Army have always been there with Better Integrity, & Valor!! I recently read, in 1971, one of the defeated Pakistani soldier( out of 97,000), regretted, 'we didn't have officers like Indian Army'... Once again, my Salute, to the Army, everybody in the Army!!
Fascinating insight about Indian army and the brilliant Sundaram. Strat news global as usual gives a insightful analysis which made India proud and kept the bullies China in place. Keep up the good work. All the best.
capabilities by itself is meaningless if there is no political will or desire to use them. India has a superb advantage in high altitude mountain warfare. yet we waste it by constantly talking to the enemy while allowing it time to grow strong. Indian leadership is not even considering recovering Aksai Chin or Kailash Manasarovar. so ... let's not keep fooling ourselves by over estimating our capabilities and under estimating the enemy all the while. we are happy to sell and buy chinese mobile phones in the country.
Very great analysis. There is propaganda and then there's actual threat perception. Keeping this in mind, your channel is more accurate in threat perception analysis. Hope more Indian media follow this same trail. Keep doing what you're doing because this is the best youtube channel. Jai Hind.
Most of the military operations or the stories are not known or even talked and most of us are unaware about our own armed forces. I thank to the channel and Nitin sir for bringing out untold stories about our Armed Forces.
I wish the corruption in arms procurement ends sooner than later. Countless innocent patriotic soldiers have lost their lives due to faulty and substandard ammunition. INSAS is a painful example.

Indians had failed to upgrade its forces and infrastructure adequately along the tibetan border even after the massive defeat in the hands of chinese in 1962..it took indian policy makers more than 40 years to approve any new infrastructures along LAC and even to raise reasonable size of mountain strike force...but the the same time , the chinese had relentlessly built massive highways, bridges, tunnels, rail ways, air ports all over tibet and have a dedicated force of 300,000 soldiers training at tibet...the indian army is ready to fight for the country but the spineless politicians are only worry of their positions and dont approve enough funds for the army.

India shouldn't fall into the trap that British colonists left. They used divide-and-conquer strategy and deliberately left many border disputes all around India borders. There is no right or wrong for these disputes. Each side think they're justice. The west is trilled to see Indian and China fight.
