Halfway through 2k20, Take Two decided they would make the switch from Yukes to a full 2k developer team. So a shorthanded 2k team took over to finish the game but were not ready for the issues that Yukes engine had. They had to bring Yukes back a handful of times just to meet deadlines....they underestimated how big the transition would be.
This video made me realise how much talent WWE has dropped from their company in the last 4 years . Roster used to seem so diverse and now it only feels like the same competitors each week in the same feuds .
I literally quit my love for wrestling because of THIS game...it was the 1st one I got since 14 and I quit once I started the career mode where I was forced to make a female character. This also made the storyline "guy is dumb, girl is good" you were FORCED to lose with your guy every chance you had to play with him but you had to get 5 star matches with the girl character. I've never hated a game before this
@Xenlacasa45 Hate to disagree but the more damage the player or the oppent takes the slower they start to get up and match can become slower pace. It feels arcady because on full health without taking damage people get up faster. But the movement system and damages after being taken the game gets slower paced which makes this game simulation not arcade!

As much as I love yukes and the SvR games, yeah. I just don't think they can handle making games in the current triple A market and yearly timeframe anymore. Fight Forever kinda proved this, it was just fine, and that wasn't even AAA. Very lackluster, though that might be due to the pubs not the devs
I had this game at launch and man was it disappointing, the DLC was the worst part. Instead of getting cool new legends and rising stars we get monster, wasteland, and futuristic tron versions of wrestlers already in the game. Looking back I'm glad this game flopped the way it did and 2K took a year because I love the new gameplay system they came back with in 2K22 than the old one, glad to be rid of reversal stocks.
I think that this game getting attention everywhere for how broken it is, was one of the main reasons why I started paying attention to WWE again after 8 years, which was a good and a bad thing because 2019 was an awful year for WWE. I almost forgot that it existed because I was a 12 year old kid in 2011, and this game made me rediscover the product and the passion I had for it as a kid as well, and I didn't even play it, started with 2K22 😭
I was one of very few who never encountered a crash or glitch so i enjoyed rhe game allot. The gameplay was fast like 19 just with buttons changed on controls so i had fun with it. Story mode was corny but i enjoyed 2k iriginals even if it was text based. Reminded me of old snackdown games befimore they had voice recordings in their games
yukes didn't quit they were fired right after 2k19, visual concepts step in they're 2k's flagship developer that developed all of 2k's games from nfl 2k, nba 2k, mlb 2k, nhl 2k and more they developed WWE 2k20 - 2k24. all of these games after THQ Inc folded all felt like a modern day, overpriced legends of wrestling games for how slow and sluggish the gameplay feels, how bad the hit detection was and the game is always glitchy, buggy and unfinished with a ton of missing features that's been with the franchise since 1998, back when acclaim had the license before THQ Inc. wwe 2k games set wrestling games back 30 years; it's not innovative they're not trying anything new and they remove features and slap it back in to used it for hype through marketing to artificially generate sells and it only got them so far bcuz they used these same tactics for a decade, they literally used EA playbook tactics. while 2k apologists keep making excuses for them so the shills are also just as much the blame why these games are in the state that it's in. 2k is the worst publisher that's ever held the game license that's saying alot bcuz it makes LJN look like a damn saint. 😂

This game was cool to me. I didn't need anything too big or wild. This game brought back that fun wild aspect wrestling games used to be, not that TV-simulator bs. The glitches: I hadn't come across them like everybody else. And, for matches, no one can complain if all you do is run and attack or don't play it the game as it's meant to be played: like a damn wrestling game. It's not a fighter. I would buy this game again.

I’ve played every wwe game up to 2k16. I skipped 2k17 2k18 & 2k19 just because I was kinda tired of wwe games. I thought I’d get 2k20 just because I hadn’t bought a wwe video game for a few years so I thought f it. Well, with the amount of bugs and glitches this game had, I could barely play it and I tried. It almost turned me off to the wwe 2k series. The only thing that pulled me back in was the nWo edition of 2k22. One thing that I thought was incredibly lazy in this game was the character select. They were all in game models and they were all in the same pose. If they’re gonna use the in game models for the character select screen, make them move like the old WCW World Tour / WCW Revenge / WWF Wrestlemania 2000 / WWF No Mercy games. I would actually welcome that if they decided to go that way. It would be nostalgic for me.

If you installed this while it was still on xbox store it got a huge amounts of updates no doubt no longer available. The servers were on an extra year and by the end it actually was a good game 😅

At launch this game was trash. Now I'd say this game is just ugly. After all the patches the game doesn't play bad, but it looks bad. The story mode is awful but so was 19 and that is considered one of the best games in the 2K series. The weapon customization was a huge plus as well and IDK why they scraped it in 22.

Dude it was legit a disaster, so much so that for the very first time ever they jumped an entire game/year just to make sure not to repeat the same mistake again, it was that bad.

It's not the worst wrestling game that much I've played and I enjoyed it especially career mode which is the best career mode so far
I don't know how the controls are, but the game looks good to me!

2k20 is the worst 2k wwe game I ever played my little brother bought the 20th anniversary of smackdown edition day one, we got to set up our universe were super hyped and as soon as we tried to play a match it crashed everytime it was completely unplayable for a long time. This game will forever have hate from me personally
imma say this, not only when it comes to wwe 2k games but ever since they input different control and stuff in wwe2k22 to now wwe2k24 me personally it feels like im playing a ufc game than a wrestling game, now to aew fight forever i can give credit to wwe they got the advantage of graphics and other stuff but in ring action and impact, aew has that it feels real looks real, looks like it hurt and feels like a wrestling and also instead if dropping a-game every year they do seasons and do updates i like that with aew it gives em more time more space for impute and creativity to it i like that cant wait for the new aew, wwe 2k series it feels like wwe now is more on trying to make money but not care what the fans want, while aew fight forever may not be the best but the impact and in ring action is actully good yea some stuff may be cheesy but feels fun and competitive and i like that agree or disagree
I remember being new to WWE and getting so excited to buy this game , then i played it and since it was my only wwe game i tried to enjoy it but it looked like dogshit , many times that i tried to make matches the shit just crashed , trying to make caws guess what? Oh yeah it crashed again , im really glad with how its going now with the 2k games but this is just 2k19 if someone ate it and threw it back up on a plate
Edit: 11:28 i almost forgot every single fucking time i would load up a one on one i couldnt see the damn entrances because the other opponent constantly ran out to attack me for no fucking reason, i had to connect.my second controller every time i wanted to play.

At launch this game was trash. Now I'd say this game is just ugly. After all the patches the game doesn't play bad, but it looks bad. The story mode is awful but so was 19 and that is considered one of the best games in the 2K series. The weapon customization was a huge plus as well and IDK why they scraped it in 22.
