John's legacy echos through the Ancient Valley, his name written on the Pillars of Knowing. And how incredible as he continues on to this day, indefatigable and in peak form. One of the greatest to ever touch the instrument.
It's not that out at all, transcribe it, he knows all the tensions on Dom chords and uses them well...this might have been a little outside in the 80s but its been in many players ears for yrs now. Just start using more alt scale ideas and use more wider intervals, he making the changes all day long...just saying out is a very subjective term been listening to Sco for 42 yrs always refreshing...
Bill Stewart is John Scofield's Danny Richmond! I've seen Sco with some great drumers - John Riley, Matt Wilson, Jack DeJohnette, Al Foster...to name a few - but Bill Stewart compliments both Sco & every bassist.
@@insidejazzguitar8112 that’s possible but then the “intentionality” needs to be justified in the solo. Otherwise it’s poor presentation of a sophisticated melody.

Yo Jeff! Good to see you out in the wild!

Stewart is Scofield’s favorite drummer for sure.
Those lines flow in spurts. Sco is a living legend
His solo is new melody that become next level of the song . Scofield is beyond .
Thank you for uploading!😀
That's very fine playing. Thank you.
Omg I thought I was hearing trumpet at first
Sco is one of the most unpredictable and inimitable musicians who has ever existed.
So true
Love it
Super sco! ❤
He’s not making the melody!
He’s phrasing in a way that’s natural for him and fits guitar, sometimes sax melodies are awkward on guitar.
ギターにジャズは不向きな楽器ということがよく分かる動画ですねwww
So out of tune
I think that was intentional at the beginning
