I like watching your videos because it’s a mix of personal and professional life of a pilot. I really enjoyed todays; it was super informative! Keep up the good work.
Hey Pete! I’m a Ramp Agent at Fedex in Memphis as well as a private pilot with aspirations on being in your seat one day! I really enjoy the context buddy, super cool to see what goes on after we’re done with the planes! Can’t wait to see the next video, always look forward to them ✈️
Hey thanks for all you do!! And super cool, good luck with training. Make sure to say hi if you see me on the ramp and we’ll get you on the next vlog !
I used to work at the FEDEX LAX Hub, I may have loaded/unloaded cargo from a 767 plane you fly. I was always amazed when I got a glimpse of the cockpit.
Thank you for sharing you good trip here. You made me laugh and I agree with you about those early morning wake ups and checkins!! I never liked waking up in my early years of flying at 3:00am to be at the airport 5:00am for a 6:00am trip. Also, I am glad I was living in the city of my base hub and that I did not commute to my base hub. Commuting to work can be hard many times for Pilots and Flight Attendants. Again, you are right, those two items are just a few of the hard or negative things that come up in our Aviation Industry.😊
These vlogs keep getting better and better. Amazing work Pete both in the air and on the ground. Couldn't help but notice that it seems every time you are near the tail area they start up the APU as if.. yeah..lol.. keep it up buddy.. :)
Thanks for the TED talk haha! It's all about perspective. I think a happy heart is a thankful heart 🫶. Great landings! Onto the next sweet day (or sweet landing). Safe flying!
Great stuff, Pete, thanks for inviting us into your life. What are the things you like about working for Fed-Ex vs. a passenger airline? PS: I love the cockpit detailed stuff! Keep doing more!
Deep dive on scheduling would be cool. Definitely got to love pulling into Fedex JFK hub and seeing the old twa hanger and welcome to JFK.PHX is definitely a great stopover to.
Hi there! Every few days are pilot charts need to be updated. Since I’d been off for a few days scootering around, they needed to be updated to the most current. Thanks! Building my nest 🪹🪺
Hey love the videos. I live in Memphis obviously fed x is a big part of it. I know a few pilots there and they all are happy. Anyway my daughter starts school at atp next month she is super excited and plans on taking the purple runway cadet program
I live in PHX, 39c = hot AF. this week is hotter though, I think. 12 minute taxi is not horrible. Just my solo Xc last week, and controllers at FFZ were being confusing in my limited experience and had to hold short of 22L for about 12minutes (according to GoPro). The good/bad of your job, I think would be the commuting, but 20yrs of trucking, so airline schedules don’t sound horrible or different, plus hotel every layover is better than finding a truck stop. Although the food thing might be different (depending what TSA allows through) Thanks for the videos.
Hey Pete! Question from someone aspiring to one day be an airline pilot: You said on the 767 that the APU pulls it's fuel from the left wing specifically. Is there something specific that has to be done to handle the difference in weight between the left and right fuel tanks after the APU is shut down in order to maintain balance for takeoff/flight? Really enjoying your content, dude!
The APU doesn’t burn much gas, so no, normally there is no need to balance fuel. But yes, we can balance fuel, turn pumps on, and cross feed from tank to engine if need be
Great vlog today! May i ask 2 questions? When you have multiple legs in a day, do you fly the same aircraft thrughout the day, or is each leg in a different 767? And, it is solely the captain's discretion if you get a 'leg' at all, or are their rules that read so everyone get's a chance to 'fly'? Thanks Pete!
Thanks! 1. Normally we change plans, rarely is it the same, unless it’s a “turn flight” (an hour or so turn) 2. Yes, always CA discretion. But 99.9% CAs go back and forth; you go then I go flying
Amazing video as always! Question: how easy or it is easy to pick extra trips? Let’s say you want make a little extra $$ I know it varies for different companies.
Happy I hope you can come to Nebraska again soon to come to Omaha My name is Lisa Fennell and I have cancer to listening to your videos Make me a little bit calmer since I have leukemia❤❤
I have seen quite a few videos from you. I love your dedication to exercise. Some of your layovers are short and you still have time to go for a run or hit the gym. I am wondering how you deal with dirty and wet clothing after workout? Please share your experience with us. Thanks.
Hey Pete, not that I personally believe it but just kind of curious I’m an Atlas Air pilot on the 777 and of course there’s crazy talk going on here that there’s a possibility of our airlines merging. Have you been hearing it on your side also?
No, but in the worst to ask haha. I don’t read or on any message boards. I focus only on things in my control, less stress for me in life. Sorry couldn’t be more of help!
I haven’t really considered cargo as an option because it seems like schedules will be heavy in the red eye category and I’d prefer to have a primarily daytime schedule. Is my suspicion true or am I way off?
I am A&P and fellow you because I hoping to get my ppl one day. But any how, ELT and black boxes are to different things. Your aircraft have both. ELT is as you described but if it a 406freq one. It will send out gps location. Black box's are fdr and cvr(which both uwb). Ga don't have them.
My base is MEM, so the company pays to get me from my base to where the trips starts. If I am already in that starting city, then I can bank the money from the DH!
You mentioned an A/C repair on your current Vehicle: quote:$1100.00 . A/C repairs are pricey, people always hoping the unit needs a charge, more likely a leak in the system at a minimum. My thought, not throw $$ at an older car, 16 model years old. I think I would use Uber in TN.

PilotPeteFly: your getting ripped off. $1,100 to replace AC compressor ( new/remanufactured)+ new reciever-drier,sucking down system, adding new oil and refrigerant. Bill would/should be $600.00-$700.00 parts and labor at a reputable shop.

Kudos to you for your "positive outlook".... with seemingly "the whole world angry" anymore, your positive energy is sincerely-sincerely appreciated.
The 767 is unique to me in that I always felt it looked better as a cargo plane than a passenger jet. Nice aircraft!

Amazing video as always! Question: how easy or it is easy to pick extra trips? Let’s say you want make a little extra $$ I know it varies for different companies.
Thanks so much!
Pretty easy during “busy” times. If there’s extra flying it’s easy. If not, then it’s harder to come by
Great video! Love the views and information.
Thanks so much!
Since you fly the 767, are you also rated on the 757?
I am rated yes, but have never flown the 757
Hey bud, great video. What kind of iPad mount do you use?
It’s on the plane the company has them. Pivot I think they use
love the content keep up the good work
😀
Thanks, will do!
Do you always get the same planes after each stop? Another good video.
Negative, planes change almost every flight
Would love a video about the scheduling process!

Great video today! Love your positive attitude. What did you decide to do about the air in the car? 39c=102c
Thanks so much! As of now it’s still a sauna, no AC. It’s miserable
Hey Pete! I was just wondering, what is the shortest runway that a 767 can land on?
Thanks!
About 6,000feet give it a take a few
Happy I hope you can come to Nebraska again soon to come to Omaha My name is Lisa Fennell and I have cancer to listening to your videos Make me a little bit calmer since I have leukemia❤❤

Why did you change epaulettes once you got to the hotel?
I don’t change epaulets during trips…
Do you always fly with the same pilot and crew or is it different everytime
Different

Def true. But if you watch my vlogs you’ll see I fly 95% during the day. So it depends on a lot of factors

Hey PilotPete, best pilot vlogs...making my donation and spreading the word. Amazing charity you'll be running for
Much appreciated! Really appreciate the support!
Have you ever done a layover to Rhode Island?
PVD yep, but not with this company
Do you purchase your own headset, or does the company provide?
I don’t for the 767. I wear the company provided headset until FL180
Please explain the dead head thing when you live in the airports city? Or is your base lga?
My base is MEM, so the company pays to get me from my base to where the trips starts. If I am already in that starting city, then I can bank the money from the DH!
Hi Pete, does your company have to approve the sunglasses you wear while flying?
They do not
You got a better Father’s Day gift than I got from my adult children. 🤷♂️

The left aft fuel pump. Same on the 757. Love to see it and love the 767

How so?
$1,100 to fix A/C is a normal price for a 2008 Honda. It’s worth it for a Honda in my opinion. Because that car will last a long time.
