@@warwick724 we have over 8000 kits sold worldwide with less than a. 01% fail rate. Most of our clients have very large tires on their Jeep Wranglers which pose even more load on the drivetrain. The engine and drivetrain are very reliable and have been strong all the way up to and past 150k miles.

Excited for the release of the RIPP kit for the 2016+ Grand Cherokees! Will you guys be offering multiple pulleys for that setup? I watched your top 10 questions video and was surprised to hear that you recommend the “high altitude” pulley for only 1000 ft above sea level. I’m guessing that may be for the Wranglers because I didn’t see a pulley option on the 11-15 grand Cherokee kits. Keep up the great work!
Every kit besides Standard Wrangler kits come with the Altitude pulley already installed. This is the smallest pulley available within the RPM limit of the supercharger.

This would be perfect for my '17 model. The only concern I would have would be the fate of my power train warranty. Once I first stepped on the gas afterwards, I think I would be happy 😊
We agree, the power makes you forget any concerns. Though, it's to be noted the drive-train is very strong, we have clients that tow with their Grand Cherokees and Durangos without issue. There have been zero reported failures in the five year span on this product, we are not pushing limits with this kit.
Mine is rear wheel drive. Would be interesting to see how much I could get at the rear wheels 😊

These videos go a long way to demystifying the RIPP products, if they did the same for installs (on all these different videos) to the point that you enabled weekend warriors to tackle this stuff themselves, I imagine they would see a +10% bump in sales. Especially careful/safe body panel removal and tapping the crank. Not 1 install video, but ones for each of these videos.

RIPP Superchargers I realize they are a big investment of time but you guys have been particularly good at not just dyno runs but having Ross do the videos on driving the cars, living with them, weird quirks (or lack there of) - all this soft touch, confidence inducing content walks people closer and closer to feeling comfortable with a $6-8k investment in their car and bet on Ripp.
Install videos go another step in that direction, less demystifying the big scary supercharger mod. Hey people with money and long weekends, how about you give this a try? See how easy it is?
I’ve watched every video there is on Ripp, Whipple, etc and steps that still freak me out are panel removal AND reinstall (Incase I need new plastic rivets or something), tapping the crank and installing tune on newer cars (the whole PCM process explained)
ugh, was typing on my phone, easier to put my thoughts here while on a keyboard...
The other purpose of doing 'install' step by step videos (basically your install guide) is to address a NEW segment of the market that you currently aren't tapping into: do-it-your-selfers.
I've priced out a Ripp/Whipple install around town a few different places, it's typically +$2k-3k on top of the base kit. I don't want to give someone 2-3k to install the kit for two reasons... (1) I'm worried about them doing it sloppy and (2) I enjoy this stuff (I've done SC upgrades on my cars before)
Because of that I've never taken the leap... if I literally had a 30-45min video on UA-cam, for exactly my car, of you showing step by step how to install the SC and I could just reference it as I went... you make it really really easy for me to become a customer.
I imagine 90% of your viewers of those videos are doing it for interest/curiosity/entertainment... but 10% of us literally want to use the video as a reference and hence my comment about sales hike.
Another interesting idea: embed a special coupon in the video that is specific to that video that stacks on whatever existing coupons you have... so you can track sales for a year and see if the videos are worth the time.
If you only sell 1 kit... well then I'm wrong and forget it. If you sell a handful a month because of it, then maybe you are onto something.
I wouldn't recommend this normally but you guys obviously have a commitment to your YT content and understand your customers that are looking for something beyond a Dyno number... I want you to take that to the next level.

What power should this engine get after a tune with no supercharger?

What about us 17 v6 grand cherokee people i would definitely buy if you make them available for our year. The 3.6L is to slow i need more power fast ! As the power level is my altitude down fall.
I'm curious given the fact that the new supercharger is coming out for the 16 and up V6 Jeep's, Does that come with an unlocked PCM or is everything needed to unlock the PCM in the kit?, I personally don't wanna get the supercharger and not have a way to tune my car for it until the new PCM come's in. No hate still love the fact you guys are actually interested in us grand cherokee's
All 2015+ 3.6 Jeep Grand Cherokee's will require an unlocked PCM from HP-Tuners. (unlock service included with supercharger kit) once your order is placed you'll receive an e-mail with instructions.

You'd be spending more money after installing than you would just starting with a 5.7 to begin with. But still very impressive!
Our gains are way past a factory 5.7 though. Additionally the 5.7 has 3:07 gearing making the acceleration and over all feel dull. Compared to the 3:73 found in the SRT and the 3:43 found in all the V6s we would argue that with the addition of the RIPP Supercharger and the added MPG it produces makes for a great combo as a daily driver and occasional midnight racer.

Have you done a Gen 2 pentastar dyno? 2016+ grand Cherokee? Also if it’s a 2WD how much more power will you see at the wheels without the power loss from the awd?

@@ricanredliner Higher octane without tuning will rarely if ever yield a power gain. The stock pass on this vehicle was done with 87 as the manufacturer suggests to use.
@@RIPPMODS ok good to know. Some tuners are claiming a 5-10 hp increase stock on just 93 octane but haven’t seen any dynos to prove their claim.

what is the procedure of getting this installed??? What type of place do you go to for installation? How do you get a dyno tune? I have a 2015 jeep gc high altitude with the 3.6L v6.

Question: You mention "AWD drivetrain loss." Does that mean better results with RWD? I'm in the market to buy a car to do this to, and would like to know if I should get a RWD or AWD. I'm also considering making a Journey a sleeper, but don't understand why the same engine in the Journey is so sluggish compared to it in the GC which is almost 1,000 heavier.
AWD has more rotating components which will take power away. AWD still makes over 400whp easily so the AWD vs RWD really depends on your location and needs.

With 7000kits 3.6l kits sold worldwide we have less than a 1% fail rate in all climates and conditions. We have very confident you will have many trouble free miles with both your engine and transmission. The rest of the drive-train is shared throughout the Mopar line and very reliable as well. We cannot quote shop costs there are just too many variables, however, the 3.6GC is the easiest in install in our lineup 6-8 hours is all it should take. Tuning is included and very strong.
i have a 2015 300s rear wheel drive with about 42k on it... really want to get a kit for it,, have you ever done a tune on a week end driver that is just a bit more agressive than a daily driver on the 3.6 ?

The 8 speed is very strong. From cars holding 450whp to our 460whp Ram 1500 regularly towing we have no issues.
Sense this have the same engine as the 2013 dodge avenger R/T couldn't you use the same kit?
They are different kits because the piping is different, we have them packaged for cars on our site though.

Hi, this vehicle has been sold off and is still running strong. It has over 100k now used as a daily driver. We have over 8000 kits sold worldwide based mostly on the 3.6 Pentastar. Most of our clients are very big tire Wrangler guys with very heavy load on the drive-train, we have clients who have gone over 150k miles on their supercharged vehicles for a total of 200k on their vehicles. Reliability is our number one goal.
RIPP Superchargers What about torque? The 3.6 is claimed to have 260 lb ft at crank. The 845RE is rated to handle up to 330 lb ft. So potential of 70 lb ft gain and staying within spec. RIPP states a gain of 120 hp at wheels. How does hp rise dramatically faster than torque assuming you stay within specs?
@@ConUpstate the transmissions are highly underrated, the cars use the same transmissions and we frequently push 490whp and 400ft lbs through them. Additionally most SUV clients tow with our system and the trans hold up there too.

We have never tested Methanol, if you are going to add it you should likely tune it.

Yes, E85 is a stronger fuel, therefore you will make more power. The 2012 has the 6spd but the power is similar.
With this kit how much of a change are you seeing in highway mpg? Under normal driving
Pistol terrence 2-4 mpg gain seeing 22-24mpg at 75-80mph over three hour trip.

Did you know that the 5 gear transmission in the base , and the v8s and pursuit edition is a Mercedes Benz Transmission? Yeah it's not the Chrysler 8 gear Transmission! And Besides all Transmissions come with overdrive so yeah ! I just bought me a 2014 Dodge Charger SE and it's just like yours but it has leather seats and heated, and sunroof! Just Remember that when you want better Gas Milage and you want all your horse power, air your tires to what tires say not door and Synthetic oils high quality gasoline and TAKE TRACTION CONTROL OFF and then drive in both modes then you will feel all 292 hp, and yes lots of head turning and everyone lets me pass by ! lol
Wow. So the 2014 + 3.6 and 5.7models of the grand cherokee and its durango cousin have a zf designed 8sp. Chargers got the same in 2015 I believe. The old 5spd in the Cherokees 2011-2013 was again on the base v6 and was built by mercedes. (a very strong transmission Btw, but has been know for bad shift speed and behavior). The V8 got a 6spd another chrysler/Mercedes products, that was the same 5spd with an additional overdrive...
Traction control won't give you more or less power. Over inflating your tires will just wear them out faster and give you a harsher ride. And no one has ever turned their head when passed by a v6 charger unless they weren't racing and you were driving like a moron
getnbigger29 The 6 speed did not have an additional overdrive. The 5 speed still has two over drives. The only difference between the 5 and 6 speed was that in the 5 speed there was a 2 and 2' gear. The 2' gear was for downshifting and could not be accessed under normal acceleration. The difference between the 5 and 6 was then programming which let you access the 2' gear under normal forward acceleration.
What boost does this supercharger give? Do you change the compression ratio or does it stock?
The engine and drivetrain are all stock. We run 9psi on all our systems. The 3.6 Pentastar is found in our entire lineup of vehicles we supercharge and we have sold over 8000 kits worldwide with less than a .1% engine and/or drivetrain failure.

What fuel can be used after installing a supercharger? What octane number avoids detonation?
@@evgenyzolotarenko7385 we tune on 91oct and that's what should be run on minimum. But, keep in mind that most clients pick up 2to4 mpg when driven normally and some have picked up more. This offsets any cost at the pump.

Tuning, slightly more timing - We have been finding the best average among clients and the 360-370 AWD HP is a safe number for RIPP to provide to the client. Then the end user can decide to bring his project forward by visiting a DYNO shop and building on our base tune.
