Josh, for the add-on (baggage or meals...) you can see code on your boarding pass, example: PBAA - 15kg, PBAB - 20kg, PBAC - 25kg or NLCB - Nasi Lemak Combo...
flew once with air asia malaysia. I must say their crew is very friendly and have some good onboard meal choices. thumbs up for a good cheap travel solution.

This review is pretty nice ... great video ... josh what’s the basic problem with airasia it’s a very budget carrier , the legroom is bad which is quite required for international sector if it’s more than some hour or two plus no IFE .... the second difficulty is their food , the food is not so good one as well , ,.. but the flight cost comes in so reasonable rates that it’s always preferred by maximum ... air Asia neither sucks nor makes u feel mind blowing .... what the best part in the video is Changi Airport ... it’s beautiful and best airport anyday ... during my travel in Changi I found painting areas as well beside gaming areas and the gardens are so beautiful.... time flies in Changi .... great video ...
A review of your UA-cam channel: As a frequent viewer of airline reviews, this channel stands out because I am entertained by how Josh potentially gets into trouble with airline management. For genuine airline reviews, I go to other channels on UA-cam are so much better because their face and monologue don’t take up the majority of the screen time and they cover the actual product (lounge, cabin, service, inflight meal etc.)
I had a good experience with Air Asia(bangalore - >Don Mueang - >Denpasar) . Great crew. Only downpoint was the food(Uncle Chin's Chicken Rice). I found it to be rather plain.
almost half of the video was a review of Changi, but it was informative. as for budget airlines, the crew smile a lot i guess because they don't have much to do it seems. but they are what they are. you pay for a seat and that's it. they are reliable though because they have hundreds of aircraft.
It’s a good point to point airline. Not so much on connections. In 2005, I flew Air Asia from Chiangmai to KL, with a 3.5 hour layover, then on to Bali. The flight was almost 3 hours late. The crew onboard the flight told me we would arrive at KL 45 minutes before departure and would be able to board the flight to Bali. We did land with 45 minutes before take off but they would not allow us to board. We had to overnight at KL and pay full fare KL to Bali When I got home, I disputed that charge with my credit card company and have never flown them since.
I have traveled with Air Asia close to 100 times in the last 5 years. You get what you pay for. A budget flight with no frills. The crew are always polite and friendly, the aircraft is usually clean and they are on time give or take most of the time.
Josh for a moment was worried for you when you said budget flight. Back in the 80's took People's Express from Atlanta to London,no food or drinks on flight, then the return flight New Year's Eve flight was cancelled due to bankruptcy. So I'm glad the flight got you there happy.
Funny how being in 2022 your prediction of no check in counters maybe absolutely wrong. Check in desks are now required to not check baggage, but to check documents to enter a country lol! I miss those days where reaching 1 hour before flight was feasible and now have to reach before 6 hours!!
I flew AA back in 2015 from Penang to Langkawi. The pilot applied take-off thrust whilst the flight attendant was still in the aisle running back to her seat - was a shit show! They were super friendly though :)
The BEST airport in the world...hands down !! Pretty good flight Josh...and as always with the LCC you get what you pay for !! Well done as always mate !!
For me : AirAsia is flying with experience in culinary. Because various pre book meal with affordable price (Rp 36900/MYR 10/USD 0.25) include coffee or tea. You fly with Indonesia AirAsia (QZ) and hear GAC-predeparture music.
We only recently flew Air Asia and Air Asia X. DMK - DAD, SGN - KUL and KUL - AVV. Every flight on time and their A320neos are brilliant. I'd definitely recommend selecting row 1 on the A320s and 17 ABC on the A330s (it's not an exit row but has fantastic legroom). Maybe you could fly with them Down Under in the near future?
I wish I could have your travel life. Im doing everything I can to travel as much, but I just can't seem to get enough. im flying this month AA to Paris, BA to London, Finnair to Miami, and Ryan Air to Marrakesh Morroco. Should I record my experiences and upload them ?
Coincidentally, my first ever flight was with Airasia. And the destination was Denpasar, Bali! I remember feeling very nervous but the smooth take off and landing did calm my jitters a lot.
Once more a really good review. I alwase watch your reviews and am relying on them as I will be doing my "Heathrow Airport to Heathrow Airport the long way round one way" when I hope to fly around the world and will be going on your reviews alone. Maybe I'll bump into you along the way? Thanx Josh.
If you fly with Singapore airlines u can get access to a lounge there for 2 hours with food and drinks and chairs. You just gotta find the ishop booth and provide a ticket.
For comparison of service quality standards, try to fly Malaysia Air Asia and Thai Air Asia, their other subsidiaries.. AFAIK, their cabin crews are also based on the nationalities of their subsidiaries (and also includes differences in their onboard cabin musics (this AA uses local Indonesian artists songs) and foods offered). I believe Lion and Malindo (Thai and Malaysia) also have different details also.
hey josh.. since ur a super flyer, do u mind sharing me ur bestest sneakers/shoes u would recommend wearing on a long haul flights by far? thanks in advance dude.. 🤘
I love air Asia, and air Asia x. I flew them back in 2012 and they always have a great atmosphere and great food for really cheap. I cant wait to try them long haul this year, From kul to syd.
Josh, I would suggest updating your viewers on the impact AirAsia's financial distress is having on passengers who are still waiting on refunds after being overcharged or flights cancelled. This poses an ongoing risk for anyone who considers traveling with AirAsia. My own refund case has been pending payment from Thai AirAsia for more than 2 years. I pointed out the press release they put out in June saying AirAsia group had settled 99% of refunds owed from the pandemic, and only in Nov 2022 was met with a response that said: "our refund process was interrupted by the difficulties that we are facing during this challenging time. Therefore, we are unable to provide you with a timeframe for the refund's completion"
For me Air Asia offers the best value for money..From A to be B with a smile for a good price. They probably also have the nicest designed in flight magazine / food & drinks menu. About the entertainment, on some of their planes you can use the free ROKKI app for in flight entertainment. And they offer xcite tablet on air asia x (add on) Their flat beds are quite affordable as well.
Try Cebu Pacific Air in the Philippines... Try to check that carrier. Its Cebu Pacific's fault why Air Asia has loose foothold on the Philippine Airline market
I’ll bet automated check in won’t allow any bags that are over Air Asia’s weight limit. I’ll have 14 hours at Changi airport in 8 days. Somehow, I’m not looking forward to it as much as Josh would.

AirAsia is definitely my favorite budget airline. I used their A320 NEO from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket. Definitely the best budget airline for me
Josh Cahill be like
5 and 4 star airlines: 😣😢😕
Budget airlines: 😍🥳😃
Because if it's a 4 star and 5 star airlines you should have high expectations and in a budget airline you won't have any high expectations
bcs 4 or 5 star airline should have a rlly good exceptation and service but budget is what the price is
