These were definitely the most dangerous non-boss enemies in Resident Evil. They could leap up in the air unexpectedly, run just as quickly as you, slice your legs and if you are in yellow CAUTION or worse... say goodbye to your head.
@@wt8012 I too had a no save run, but instead of them instantly killing me (I knew better and to always be at full health or double green), they trapped me in a corner near the green herbs by the library, and looped me so I couldn't do anything except heal (I had two full healths). I basically had to watch my character get tortured to death...those evil bastards.
I always dread them every single time I play this game, especially with Chris. They are even more of a threat in arrange mode from the Director's Cut version
The Sweeper Hunters aren't as bad as the Gamma Hunters. Blue herbs can cure poison but they won't work if you've been swallowed whole in one single gulp.
Loved... and HATED, these guys. Their designs are great. Their sounds are horrifying (kinda like the Revenants in Doom 2) and in terms of just regular enemies that aren't bosses, these are the best of them all. But actually fighting them? A fate not to be wished on even your worst enemy.

They reused just about all of them and should still be doing so. The Hunter shrieks and grunts were chilling.

Well, yellow FINE in RE1 was the equivalent of yellow CAUTION in RE2 and RE3.
