Need to get ready for work or a party and have zero time to think about what to wear? Enter: the classic trench coat. Here, Rachel Zoe shows you three pitch-perfect ways to rock the staple. Follow her advice and start with a good base-skinny black jeans, a flouncy silk shirt, and a pair of sick heels-and you’ll be ready for anything.
It’s incredibly chic, especially when the weather isn’t great, to button the trench coat up all the way and make it look like a dress. With a pair of thigh high boots, a trench coat can be a chic outfit in and of itself. If you’re wearing long sleeves, push your trench coat’s sleeves up to show the shirt cuffs coming out. This will add something special to your outfit. Another great idea is to loosely tie the belt of the trench on the back. This opens the front of your coat a little bit to show your outfit, and it cinches your waist a little bit as well. There are many more ways to style a classic trench, but we hope trying these adds a little more glam to your look!

Wow, that leather trench is stunning. I've been looking at some Burberry trench coats, not because of the designer name, but because I love how they look and that they seem to be well-made and will last a long time.

Trench coats look beautiful on women but they also look great on men. I would wear one myself except that in recent years they have become feminised... are they still acceptable for men? Many people think they're a little 'gay'. I rarely see a man wearing one. What are your thoughts?
+MrToby9999 I personally think it looks great on anyone. It's like a good basic blazer that everyone needs. I don't know where you live but probably it's more of an "European" style (Maybe that's why you rarely see men in trench?). But yeah I do think men look great in trench. It adds style and sophistication to the whole look :)
An Thien Thank you for responding. I live in Melbourne Australia. Trench coats are very popular with women in winter but not so popular with men. Maybe that's because winters are short and not very cold. In any case, I would agree that they look great on anyone.

+Robyne Rieger We love a classic Burberry trench! :) There is no one appropriate length, but we recommend a length that is comparable to your favorite skirt. Another alternative is simply picking a length that is flattering on your body. If you feel it is too long you can get it altered by a local tailor. Ask them pin it while you're wearing it before committing to that length! Hope this helps!!
