ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then the company has been developing, manufacturing and distributing loudspeakers in the field of Professional Audio.
The development of the X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter based on the 1960’s invention of the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil was largely responsible for the company’s founding. Producing sound not with a piston-like diaphragm as is done in most of the loudspeakers that are on the market, but using a pleated diaphragm that is capable of moving the air 4 times faster than the folds themselves are moving was the appealing idea behind it all. The achieved results were intriguing and gave ample reason for moving forward.

Loving my A7V’s, the Sonarworks integration is game changing!
We're happy to hear that!
Still no powerdown setting ?
We need main volume and power down options in the software ! That might be useful !
Presentation nicely done (and I love the choice of the background music, sounds great on my A8Hs :)
That there still is no option to switch the power off is a (economic) shame! Also not to be able to turn off the LEDs! I REALLY hope that these options willl be available in the nexct update!!!
why would you wanna turn of the LEDs?
Woohoo, first comment! Great job ADAM
Apologies in advance, but do you need to do a firmware upgrade to the A7V's after they arrive, or no?
Hi Larry! No apologies needed ;) The latest firmware will be installed automatically as soon as you connect the speakers to A-control
Sounds very cool, BUT: could I use REQ for room EQ measurement and import the filters? Or do I need to do that manually?
Hi @chrisvanhoven8562! Do you mean Room Eq Wizard? A-Control offers the option to upload Sonarworks SoundID reference profiles, not Data from REW. I hope this helps you out!
@@ADAMAudioBerlin well, with REW I'll be the wizard ^^
Sonarworks is too expensive if you need to purchase it . The A7V will make me bankrupt already 🙂
So I would like to use REW with my UMIK microphone.
I understand that I can set EQ parameters freely with A7V, right? So I could measure with REW, determine the EQ filter values and than enter them manually??!
Yes, as shown in the video you can adjust the EQ curve more accurately in advance mode where you can change the speakers response according to your REW measurements. However, after purchase you have access to a 60 days trial for the SoundID reference to calibrate your monitors with Sonarworks :) I hope this helps you out! best regards, Jasper
Does the Sonarworks Sound ID work for your Subwoofers aswell?
Hi Tim! Please reach out to Sonarworks Support team for this question. for now, you can check this link for more guidance soundid-reference.support.sonarworks.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019769079-Measuring-a-2-0-stereo-setup-with-subwoofer
no
No option for linking the two speaker in A control so changes in eq made on the left are also applied on the right speaker?
Hi @NATmusic27! Thanks for your message, could you specify your question a bit? You can connect multiple A Series monitors via a network switch, allowing you to dial in specific corrections for each speaker individually. This will not be applied to other speakers automatically, but the settings can easily be copied and pasted to unify the EQ Settings for all monitors. I hope this answers your question!
How can I link the two controls so that they both change? When making the broad corrections, it makes sense to me to be able to A/B and toggle the corrections. Without being linked this is very difficult. Thanks.
Hi @jaketanner109! You can use a network switch or your WIFI-Router to connect multiple A-Series speakers simultaneously
@@ADAMAudioBerlin hi. I mean through A Control. How can I link both sides via the software? A router won’t do that…it’s software related. Toggling the Pure and UNR works for both, but if I change a correction switch on one side, I have to do it for the other rather than both speakers simultaneously.
You cannot link them in the way you describe, but you can easily copy all your settings and paste them onto multiple speakers, as shown in the video at 02:45 :) I hope this answers your question!
Hi there,
1. Can A4V-s be used as home theater satellite speakers ? (This is my intention for an Atmos 5.1.2 with a 8ch XLR DAC and HTPC)
2. I see Sonarworks doesn't support USB measurement microphones. Can A Control be fed with or read exported measurements from REW ? (REW at least knows UMIK 1-2).
Hi @disnaess, thanks for your interest in our products! Please reach out to our support team here:

We will happily assist you in person there :) All the best and greetings from Berlin!
if i want to switch between my monitors to a headphone profile in Sonarworks then for sure i need to add Sonarworks plugin on master chain. so when i am in a headphone profile then, do am i listening to double calibrated sound in my headphones(Monitor's profile then in headphone's profile?) or i am listening to pure headphone sound with a Sonarworks headphone profile only? Please let me know if someone know this.
Hi @mandeepsingh-cl8me!
If you are using a Sonarworks Sound ID Reference plugin on your master bus with a different calibration file, in addition to the one running on the speakers DSP, you will have a doubled calibration. If you are unsure how to use the headphone calibration system by sonarworks, feel free to reach out to them directly via their support form:

Greetings from Berlin!
Is there a way to switch through the different translation eq curves of SoundID Reference from A Control?
Hi Santiago! No, this can only be done in Sonarworks.
@@ADAMAudioBerlin Understood. Maybe in a future update?....
Do you have plans to release this tool as a mobile app?
Hi @iprouteinfo! Our team is constantly working on the improvement of our software. We will take that request into account!
How accurate are the Sonarworks data reflected in the DSP? Are these accumulated in the 5-6 bands like shown in the"expert" view or are they more grained? So are there 16 bands or more? And what about the phase shift measured and normally applied by Sonarworls, is that also reflected within the DSPs ?
Thank you in advance
Hi Ian! Thanks for your question, currently we dedicate 20 bands to the sonarworks filter curve. Our DSP-implementation does not provide linear-phase filtering, which would only work on the expense of latency and a lot more computational power needed. I hope this helps you out!
Thank you very helpful... for linear-phase I can still use sonarworks (on top on the uploaded profile)... would that make sense? Ok, latency, but I am a regular producer, not recording any kind of external instruments,.. sure playing piano for MIDI, but sonarworks can be switched off with a mapped midi key or foot switch, right?@@ADAMAudioBerlin
Hi Ian! Instead of applying correction twice, you can just use the sonarworks plugin in linear phase mode.
@@ADAMAudioBerlinI thought of applying the Adam one AND the Sonarworks only together for an "extreme nerd mode" only because you mentioned there are "only" 20 bands. I thought applying it twice may get the very last 3% as well the phase shift aligned... For normal work (without recording anything) the Adam only settings would be "just right... Or am I getting it wrong ... Sure I can save CPU totally ignoring Sonarworks
Hey Ian, yes it is understandable :) The big advantage of calibrating the speaker to your room by using its internal DSP is, that you can hook up any laptop or other audio source, the speakers stay calibrated even if you do not have any corrective eq on your master. If you prefer using the sonarworks plugin on your master chain in linear phase mode, that is fine as well of course. However, we do not recommend using two corrective EQ´s in a row.
Thanks ADAM Audio but could you reach out to me about the S-series control
Hi Terry! What would you like to know exactly ?
my speakers Are on the beta still from 2 years ago@@ADAMAudioBerlin
Hi Terry,

I cannot see the link to download my A Control with the A Series ?
Hi @cbhrcbhr! The download link should be available in the MyADAM user area. If you have problems installing the software, please reach out to our support team here:

Hopefully, we can find a solution for you quickly. All the best and greetings from Berlin!
@@ADAMAudioBerlin I have manage finally found the way to download the software Saturday
Why do you make it so complex to download ?
Why do you have to send a request to be able to download it ?
Greetings from France
Cyril
A5x?
Hi José! The A Control is only designed for the A Series and not the AX Series.
Is the volume control gone? I am A8H user.
Hi there ! ADAM Audio monitors typically have physical volume knobs or controls on the back of the speakers themselves, and the volume is adjusted directly on the speakers.
@@ADAMAudioBerlin Thank you. I thought that if I could control it with a control, I could use it for atmos.
If you´re building an Atmos setting, we would recommend watching our video series on the matter in this link :

aww.. cries in T5V :(
The voice recording of this video sounds horrible tbh. lol
Speakers are great 🫡
