I realize this is an older video, but wanted to say thank you for posting this. I've been wanting to make one of these games, and kept getting hung up on how to cut the hole accurately in all the pieces to accept the metal rod. I don't have a drill press so was worried about keeping a hand drill straight and not wander. Your idea to cut the slot and fill part of back in is wonderful! Thanks!
Thanks, Chris. I started using the drill press, but the smaller bits kept wandering, so I went with the slot/groove idea. It works great.
The game is a fun project to make. I've done a 2 player version and have yet to revisit a 4 player version.
