I was struggling with the lack of info on the boiler/sodium setup. Discovered my Meka tubes were too slow. Someone recommended making the boiler and fission reactor and then putting the multiblocks together so that the loop has no bottleneck. It worked. Went from 50mbt to 250. Now I have to do the same with the turbine for my steam.
You mean to build them right next to each other so there are no pipes/tubes at all? Interesting. I've always heard people talk about using large pipes as a buffer to hold more of the fluids/gases they're carrying, adding to the capacity of the system. I'm messing with it now. Next episode is already recorded but I still have lots of testing to do.
@jangrogames Precisely. You may be able to get away with a small reactor with ultimate pipes but I didn't try it. No matter what I did I couldn't get over 50mbt until I put them together. I found that tip after hours of links, researching, and testing. Also make sure the chunks with the pipes are loaded because that causes explosions when people load up their game (just another reason not to use them). I could tell there was something funky with the pipes because it was clearly transferring the gas but they all read '0' for the amount.
@@jangrogames So I completed my sodium cooled quest. I'm now at a burn rate of 800mbt . This gets me about 2mb of antimatter every second. The reactor and boiler have no issue. My choke point was the steam tank in my boiler was too small. Apparently that is also the size of the coolant tank which needs enough space to load at least one tick of coolant in. Now I just have the sink and integrated dynamics fluid going in the boiler and voiding the steam with a trash can.
That was really nice info on the vent to disperer ratio. I had never heard of bothered to figure out that.
Thanks again for the info
thanks! I've been through this mod, but never really learned it. Trying to get into some of the details here. There are a lot!
Perfect timing! Now all we need is the fusion reactor setup.. 🙂↔️
Well, fission first. Then that. :)
Same. I need to know what I'm doing wrong with my boiler.
