Blind Wave when you guys find the time and/or haven’t watched it yet, watch Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal. Its really well done and I think and many other would love it if you do a reaction for it!
I think that we can officially declare this show has beaten Doctor Who, with the whole:
'BS your way through every episode,'
strategy.
Maybe for Spencer and hot topic for Christmas?
Would you guys be willing to react to Hazbin Hotel? I think you guys would like it.
U censored a lot of funny moments)))
We are watching UA-cam reactors react to a show that made fun of UA-cam reactions. So freaking meta!
yeah, though the show said youtubers reacting to youtube" but R&M is not youtube.
@@spbspb2413 But.. It is Rick and Morty because they are actually featured in the video. So technically they are on youtube, Just not main meta.
@Letys but that way you see like 8 minutes of a 22 minutes episode, but i guess that's better than nothing.
You just made a comment about the meta in a reactor reacting to a show, that made fun of the meta, that is a youtuber reaction reacting to a youtube video.
:)
I hate reaction videos, but this guys make it interesting.
*Eric* "I'm checking to see if it's a real site."
*Calvin* "Yeah me too."
*Aaron* "It's not"
😂😂😂😂
They were all on the same page
We were all on the same page
Actually if you put it in it takes you to the Rick and Morty merch page...
@@abaddonarts1129 at the time it didnt :P
I love, love, love that this whole episode was that whole second trailer. It made us think all those scenes were from different episodes and it ended up being in one. The ultimate troll from Dan and Justin. And now we have no idea what the rest are. These guys are something else.
Yeah.This episode was amazing.
Just hope that next episodes would be more like "Ricklantis mixup" and not some dumbass shit like horny dragons.
The best part is that the trailer was posted on April 1st! 😂
@@qwerty9398 Horny dragons is one of my fave episodes
@@TkOHarley14 it was horrible
@@nonamerequired4566 C'mon how could you not find the dragon soul sex funny
The song that perfectly describes this episode is “everything you know is wrong” by Weird Al.
OMG YES!!!!! XD
“Not buying it as an act of buying it “ the commercial makes me wonder what they marketed lol. An entire series in one episode
To summarize this whole episode:
It is an anthology of short stories, which is then made into a long story, that is turned out to be just a fabricated story, that didn't have any real impact to the story we apparently wanted to follow.
edit note: need to change the last sentence to properly convey the message.
"that didn't have any impact to the real story we are currently following."
if there even is a story we are following
Good, but not enough use of the words: canon, literary device, and train.
I think the point is that there is no "real story we are currently following". They are just telling us "just watch our show and have fun"
Agreed, what a shitty episode in an already lackluster season. Rick and Morty has really gone downhill.
@@generalofkek4619 you do know that "Story lord" is the representation of all the people shitting on the show because of the plot of the story and stuff right? it is making fun of you. And by complaining you are just giving them the reason.
I thought the 5th wall aspect was great. We all know Rick and Morty to be a show that constantly breaks the 4th wall. But in this case, the 5th wall represents the fact that they were playing with the train Morty bought. The whole episode was their playthrough. So all the meta-commentary and 4th wall break happened within a bigger wall break. The episode is so random just like the stories that Morty came up with on the spot. I feel like if we were big-brained enough we could have predicted the ending LOL I don't know. I think that's cool.
Luis Garcia If you mean the ending where everything wasn’t real, then I “predicted” it lol
There are many interpretations of the 5th wall. Theres even an official definition of what 5th wall would mean and it also could be applied to this episode
I think this episode was the first one where I thought that actually having a higher IQ would help. Not even a joke this time.
@@chrisdawson1776
No he meant predicting that they were just playing with a toy train
i think the commercial at the end summed it up pretty good "what story would be complete without the engineer of the greatest story ever told?.... ohhh jesus christ!" if i had a story train my buddies and i would probably play stuff like this while laughing our asses off :D
They broke the 5th wall when they made me check the website that doesn't exist.
You just get redirected to "www.rickandmorty.com/"

I love how in the episode, they actually pass the Bechdell test for real during the pheonix person fight scene.
With Summer and Tammy?
The Story Lord is pretty obviously Dan Harmon.
W8 what ? You mean the voice ? He sounded exactly like Paul Giamatti after the second viewing.
@@pulkmees Not the voice but he looks a lot like a cut version of Dan Harmon
Not obvious when no one knows what he looks like.
The story circle thing is Dan Harmon's.
can't believe no-one talked about the end of the episode: We find out that R&M are locked down bc of the virus but Morty went out to go shopping for some stupid toy. Instead of being upset, rick is "overjoyed". Concerned for his life? Not at all. "You're point in life is to buy stuff." so who cares if you get sick and die. "Kiss grandpa" - sure, you might have germs from buying a stupid toy, but you looooove your grandpa, so give him a kiss.
This whole ending was throwing major shade at people violating the lockdown, and the capitalists who seem content to let people die just so you can get buy your stupid sh*t on amazon.
Oh, and what happens to the train? "oh no, it's ruined from all this blood on it"... Just buy another one.
Ouch.
wow i didn't see it like that...i thought it was capitalist's being overjoyed that during a virus where "no one's buying anything" he bought something..."buy and consume" don't ask "ethical questions" and all that
NirvanaFan5000 why do I think your the type of person that said u need a high iq to understand the comedy of rick and morty?
Mmm, this is good shit
Brett The best just because he uses his brain ?
@@szlendak1368 because he overthinks shit and finds symbolism where there isn't any. It's cool to theorize and whatnot but he shouldn't present his projections as fact lol
This episode was a new kind of LSD Trip my jaw was dropped the entire episode ngl.
yo. good fucking idea. LSD R&M
I love the one scene with Evil Morty, the Ricks and the Meseeks. It gave a very "this is what a series finale Rick & Morty movie would look like" in both the stepped up animation quality and the culmination of past villains. And I'm pretty sure that was the point. With the creators making fun of the fans thinking about loose ends like Evil Morty as an end game scenario.
I like the Orient Express reference at the beginning: everyone in that train were either related to Rick or wanted to kill Rick for a different reason lol
Remember the trailer for season 4 part 2 came out at April 1. Guess who just got april fooled on May?!
You guys should definitely react to Community!
The best sitcom!!
I hope they react to it, I started it on Netflix this quarantine and it's great!
or they're trying to say, just enjoy the show tonight, then get on with your lives.
Yes
I love how Mr. Poopy Butthole is now on the Dark Side and looks like Darth Sidious. One of the coolest moments in the entire shows history...
This is the most self aware and meta episode I have ever seen, holy shit.
The fact there there are so many fictional realities and everyone thinks there in the true reality is awsome. Even real rick at the end was jokingly telling Morty to go to the store and consume and referencing "the virus". which of course is a reference to our reality. This is why I love this show it's crazy and the writers know it lol.
Just putting my thoughts on how I interpreted this episode out there:
First off, I personally really liked the episode. I liked how it was a meta commentary on everything Rick and Morty, even its own meta nature, themes, and story structure. I found it to be an enjoyable one off episode that literally has no significance plotwise.
Which brings me to my thoughts on what everyone's been talking about. I don't think this episode is just washing away any and all plot in Rick and Morty. I 100% think we'll get a proper conclusion to the Evil Morty storyline ONE DAY. I think the writers were just trying to say that we, the viewers, shouldn't expect the story to play out exactly as WE want it to nor should we expect every single episode to forward a grand narrative. There is a very loose plot in the show but it's just that; loose. It's not going to be front and center the whole show. There's 70 episodes left for crying out loud.
The writers clearly don't want to spend the whole rest of the show forwarding a grand narrative and that's completely fine. It's probably for the best actually; I don't think Rick and Morty can handle being narrative-driven throughout the whole show without being stretched out and getting stale. As cool as seeing Abradolf Lincler pop back up in that blurb was, the timing also felt completely random. I mean, for crying out loud, he found them at some random market on an alien world. It felt great seeing him again but it also felt like the scene was grasping at straws for a plot (much like Morty did when he came up with those stories earlier in the episode). If every episode tried to forward a serialized plot, the whole show would eventually have this random forced plot feel.
So as much as I would love to just see what the deal with Evil Morty is and what he's up to and see what Tammy will try next with Phoenixperson, it's not my decision to make on when and how that happens. All I can do is enjoy the ride until that time comes.
TL;DR I believe that the showrunners will keep the grander narrative going but in the background just like it was in the majority of the first two seasons for most of the show. Maybe we'll get a few really important story episodes here and there but I think most episodes will be ignoring any huge developments.
This was great 😂 honestly couldn't get any room to breathe during this episode but it's one of my favourites so far
I love how the answer to save themselves was to do something they would never do, which for Rick was to believe in God.
He truly believed in Jesus but it was a part of play set
he actually does believe in god cause during the rickle and time episode, rick was praying to god cause he was about to die. but after watching this episode who knows whats canon.
@@wallysmart2432 And he also said there is no god.
@@wallysmart2432 I don't think he believes, I think he's just not sure, so he prays just in case.
@@RayramAureanBlue It's the one realm of knowledge Rick can never possess, and he hates it. The only uncertainty in his life, and the only thing he truly fears.
This had to be the most confusing episode ever...
I love the meta commentary of the show. They rip on the fans so much it’s hilarious
Best part of the episode: Morty saying "Jesus Christ" during the commercial at the end.
this was a trolling episode ....they trolled every single one of us and called us out...LOL
the fkin scorpion bit made me tear up like WHAT THE HELL MAN HAHA
In the episode its sayed: "everything outside the train isn't canon" and the episode ends outside the train, the website isn't real sooo are they meta all the way? Was the end just another non canon story?
Well it depends on what you think its canon to begin with. The entire episode wasn't "canon" since it seems it was within this train Morty bought 😅 So the actual canon was them sitting in the sofa in the loving room all this time? Or is that jist another story haha.
What the hell are you guys doing? Stop googling the URL and just type it in your browser...
I think I made the right decision to stop theorizing about what the future of Rick and Morty will be; I'm better off just enjoying it from episode to episode.
I also get the feeling that Dan Harmon watched Infinity Train at some point.
The train is just Dan Harmon's Story Circle. look it up.
This episode reminded me of that Community episode "GI Jeff", this has Dan Harmon written all over it lmao
Fantastic ep cant wait for the rest of the the season
7:58 wow, that caught me off guard so hard HAHA
The joke about thresholds and such when looking at the digital train are a reference to Dan Harmon’s story writing method.
the 5th wall is us understanding the 4th, basically breaking out
I love that they’re basically saying fuck you to everything. The fan theories, expectations, the company, the government, and Dan Harmon himself
Even before the light saber fight I knew they were trashing SW:TROS , surprised I haven't seen anyone mention it lol
This episode in a nutshell
"This is our fucking show! We'll do what we want with it! Shut the fuck up and buy our shit."
Ah you gotta love Dan and Justin
I felt this was one big FU to the fans and theories regarding all the loose ends. Funny episode and I like the whole Writer's story circle idea he incoperated into this but still. Im kinda sad if we never get Evil Morty, Phoenix Person and Tammy back lol.
THIS 100% my thoughts
I think it'll happen at some point
But I think this episode is telling us that we shouldn't think of evil morty as "the antagonist".
But that scene looked exactly like a movie
@Taylor Goodykoontz You dont pay much attention to the show do ya?
Camunon .
@Taylor Goodykoontz it was kinda implied, but i am sure they will change their mind when they lose ratings for not doing what fans want.
Just realized that first villain is voiced by Clancy Brown (Mr. KRABS)
toy train from citadel of ricks! My head hurts! I want one!
I love how everybody went for that website.
YOU GOTTA LOVE THE FACT THAT THE FIRST INSTINCT OF EVERY FAN IS TO GO AND LOOK FOR THE SITE.
Community.
Everybody checked to see if they could buy that train because everybody secretly kind of wanted that train and action figures set!
That url about the train takes you to the Rick and Morty site.
"Shut up Morty you are 14, you watch videos of people on UA-cam reacting to fucking UA-cam!"
They are calling out many people here, myself included
The fight between Rick and Cyber Birdperson looked intriguing, and then Summer lightsaber dueling Tammy I definitely wanted to see that. Also, wouldn't Evil Morty being there be considered foreshadowing or at least reveal to Rick and Morty that Evil Morty is out there?
Hearing Paul Giamatti (Story Lord) scream out "What's wrong Rick?! Don't you wanna see how your story ends?!" And then we get that shot of an Army full of Mr. Meseeks, Ricks and a Darth Sidious Mr. Poopy Butthole. All led by Evil Morty. You can't tell me that whole sequence didn't give you the chills. THAT WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
My question is how many times does the train end up this way? Since there's a Rick and Morty on the train how many times have they figured out it was all fake and Jesus basically hits the self-destruct sequence?
that reaction comment made my day
Every time I think I've seen the best they can do they always do better
It awesome and why I love this show so much. What you expect is never what you ecpect
Did anyone else notice that the names of the next episodes actually line up with a lot of the cut away scenes from this episode? such as the vat of acid and Star Wars? So seems like they may become canon in the end
Ever since the Citadel episode I always felt like Evil Morty's fate would be this one: a throwaway joke and nothing more. I hope they keep to it
Seems like they were blowing off steam. Possibly from the pressure made by fans to continue on storylines that the writers didn't want to have follow-up's on, or frustrations with creativity lost to the cutting room floor.
Dan Harmon's Story Circle.
The site now redirects to adult swim's rick and morty section
It takes you to the Rick and Morty website if you use that URL
When Story Lord mentioned the fith wall, I thought the episode would end with him beating up Justin Roaland in the adult swim offices
The website at the end actually leads to the rick and morty website. xD
So do you guys own the studio or is it a place you do reactions and stuff in?
You know that there are no pancakes on that train, right?
It's gonna be Hullakwan tonight.
If you search the website, it takes you to the adult swim website.
Anyone else feel the awkward silence after the UA-cam reaction bit?
There were only two interdimensional cable episodes, not three. The third clip show was Morty's Mindblowers.
This episode was totally bonkers. It was meta as hell, and unless you spend hours researching things, you won't get all the references. I watched a breakdown video just to find things out. I mean, the train being a circle is literally a reference to Dan Harmon's writing guide he has for making episodes. Also, would you guys be able to react to Hazbin Hotel? I think you guys would like it.
When Jesus ripped his shirt off I literally fuckign died.
4th wall that the actor talks to audience and knows that he is in a show. And 5th wall is the actor talks about their previous or future works of the show.
So maybe that evil morty scene is a foreshadowing.
Did they put the whole trailer in one episode
Me when I click on the video: God I don't know who these people are, but I like them already,
At the end: Worth it! Subscribed!
I could not stop laughing at the insanity. Rick n Morty is one of the best shows out
Was there also a voice bit this episode?
First guy sounds like plankton
Morty’s disguise sounds like Timmy Turner
3:43 is that mr.Krabs lmao
Just need to put up a reaction video to this video to complete the circuit.
Still debating whether this ep was a fuck thos plotlines thing, or whether it was a teaser for the season
One of the best episodes of all time
Man what a dick move getting the fans hyped up and turns out it was from thus episode, and now we don't know what to think!
"we make a show where no one knows what's going on" kinda seems like how they must have pitched the show...
How’d u guys get the uncensored version?
I also immediately looked up if there was a train
The Bird person song was amazing one of my favorite parts of the episode I love this episode think it’s the best of the season And I love the Jesus stuff it was amazing and the evil Morty stuff nice and all that stuff not being nonCanon great loved it best episode for me so far
I believe I have no remaining brain cells
this is weird and I love it. Im talking bout your setup.
Only these writers would come up with an episode that indirectly tells you that writing this show is hard XD
The site isn't real but if you try to go to it, it redirects to the adult swim page for rick and morty
In retrospect, this episode was 100% them complaining about what Adult Swim would make them do from then on
they released the trailer on April fools, makes sense that none of it was cannon
