  • Hey guys today I decided to dig into my Hiace that was a recent purchase and try and fix some items and do some basic maintenance. I still may end up removing the alternator and get it rebuilt but I am still weighing my options. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Thanks a lot I just changed out the alternator on my brothers hiace using your video as a guide. Hardest part for me was putting the alternator tensioner bolt back in place. And had to grind down the top bracket part on the alternator where the top bolt goes to get it to fit.

@210dc2mike ya it's too bad toyota didn't just design the alternator on top and ac compressor below it lol.

6:18, if you have a three-seat front cabin, the third seat belt buckle bolts in there.

Hey thanks for making this video. It was extremely helpful. I have a same gen hiace but with the 2LTE. Remarkably similar layout to the KZH. I had just as much trouble with the parking brake cable too. Any tips on the timing belt? Going to attempt that next.

I have not done a timing belt job yet but my buddy "JDM Gems" youtube channel should have something on it possibly. It is super easy on these engines you pretty much just take the timing cover off and remove the tensioner making sure the crank and cam gears stay on TDC.

Hi - I'm about to remove the driver's side hatch - so I'll be disconnecting the hand-brake too. Any tips on putting it all back together? From what I can see, the 'nuts' are within a sealed cavity in the hatch. Are these welded in place - or is there some type of access to get a spanner on them as the bolts are re-tightened? Cheers.
