So I watched the complete movie earlier today (X-Mas 2022) and I have to say. Alastair Sim is a pure joy to behold as post-ghost Scrooge. His over-the-top joy at just being alive along with his maid's reaction is a great scene..poor woman was about to have heart failure..LOVED IT
Nice attention to detail with the blind man's dog. "No eye at all is better than an evil eye, dark master..." Not sure how many other adaptations have any reference to that from the book. I can't think of any.
You are right, but the *deeper meaning* of that scene is that Scrooge himself doesn't even receive any benefit at all from his riches. He doesn't take care of himself properly, such as by buying himself enough food to eat, even though he can easily afford to do so. Instead, he acts *as if* he is a starving homeless man, even though he isn't. All of this shows how Scrooge actually hates himself, and his life.
I fell asleep listening to this and I had a lucid dream about Scrooge. I warn people not to listen to an Audio book about this Story. You maybe asleep, but the brain is still active. You will lucid dream about this. It happened to me.
My Great Uncle Mervyn Johns as Bob Cratchit.😁
His smile was infectious in this role.
Your Great Uncle is almost as iconic as Bob Cratchit as Sim is as Scrooge.
Wonderful performance!!
Cool!
That is epic
I can feel Bob's happiness 😊
Scrooge eventually agrees to give Cratchit Christmas day off. However, he only does this because of social custom.

Best version for sure. The Mr. Magoo one is the next best. LOL
I shared this version (watched with her) with my mom while dad is in the hospital. Made her happy. All I care about.
