When I finished playing the Trespasser DLC for DAI, I was fully committed to stopping Solas. I have reversed my stance. If this is what Dragon Age has come to, I welcome the destruction of Thedas.
0:32 another thing that makes this scene so unnatural is how the characters keep referring to Taash by pronouns when she’s in the room when irl, you would probably just use her name. 😂
At least they’ve done “it” before so there’s some precedence. Shale of DAO used “it” when referring to people, and it gave her some illustration of character development when she would start saying stuff like “you.”
As someone learning English, using plural they for a single non-binary person feels like the ultimate breakdown of logic-whatever non-binary is supposed to mean!"
I think the main problem I had with Taash was that they could have done all the stuff they did with her but in a way that would have matched the setting but instead they force it all into the storyline with modern language and thought processes. I just think that in an actual dark fantasy setting/Thedas no one would even have the word “non-binary” yet, because it would have no relevance to any culture as of that time. Sure, they have math but binary is more of a computer age type word and I don’t believe a fantasy culture would have it in use. Inquisition handled things like this WAY better. They introduced how homosexuality might be seen in fantasy and they even had a trans person with an explanation that was entirely plausible. Taash on the other hand, every time I have a scene with her(sorry but I’m not using a plural pronoun for a singular entity, and yes I’m aware of exceptions but “they” isn’t one of them) I inevitably get taken out of the game at some point because modern slang and ideology gets thrown into the dialogue and forces me to be aware I’m playing a video game. I lose immersion, and that’s the whole damn reason I play video games, read books, and watch movies. This comment is too long.
I was totally into their vibe at first, like on the platonic level, like some kid brother's friend, and going through their dialogue from a platonic standpoint, I thought it was pretty enjoyable, especially with the struggle with trying to find who they are, and the emotional brushes with their mom. But, if we're being honest here, their entire dialogue outside of that was incredibly cringey, like I was curious, so I attempted the whole romance thing, y'all ever wanna fold within your own body? Like it was so bad, sort of disappointed with Taash's lines and character, they coulda did so much more there, and it felt like an attempt at mainstream BookTok failed LMAOO
All the more reason why I won't buy Veilguard due to Taash being a rude, annoying, and disrespectful big baby. She does not respect her mother and she pushes and bullies other companions around. All the cringy dialogue but Taash happens to be the worst written Dragon Age character ever.
Idk why I found it so funny that they not only erased any potential Sera/Harding romance from history, they also hook Harding up with Sera's dream type 😂😂
@maryapple7108 oh no, you're right. She just approves of flirting with Harding, my B. It's just the Inquisitor who can romance Harding and then apparently ghost her 😅
@@nananderson7259 Man poor Harding. To have her flirting with the Inquisitor go nowhere and having to get with the likes of Traash? Poor girl can't catch a break.
Do i have no choice? Do i also have to be 'flustered' idiot tripping over my words and hiding my relationship from mommy if i wanna romance tall and confused?
Real talk? Making a non-binary character THIS insufferable is a discredit to real people with these troubles, and past characters who did it right, like Krem.
So I’ll give ya the full backstory. Back when last of us part 2 came out, I made two videos that did exceptionally well. I grew a bunch because of it. In hindsight I should have made more stuff on it at the time to really ride that wave. Lately, I have been experimenting with doing discussion videos on current topics, then Veilguard hit. And I figure you know what let me try some things. So all of this is me throwing out ideas and seeing what sticks, what does well. While at the same time still making videos for why all of you watch me! So far the Veilguard stuff has been doing well!
And the defenders say that the identity quest for Taash is only a small part of the game and fully optional, i dont believe it because im a completionist and if i want to see the bullshit secret ending, i need to do this piece of shit's quest to get a tag before the final mission that ensures she survives blah blah.
I honestly wish there was an option for like a really stupid character to just not get it and every time someone says them when referring to her the text option of of wait she's been possessed by a demon or there are multiple Demons Inside of You
The butchery of the English language astounds me. And yet Taash cannot call Emmrich by his name. And he is meant to respect her made up pronouns? Behave. Taash is hands down the worst character bioware has ever written. She is insufferable! And what is with the growling???? Bull and Sten never growled at anyone.....this is awful! *Aveline:* (Sighs) All right, I can fix this. I need... I need three goats and a sheaf of wheat. You'll take them to his mother.
*Hawke:* ??
*Aveline:* It's a dowry tradition. Maybe it will smooth the process.
*Fenris:* A dowry? Then... this isn't about accusations.
*Aveline:* No, it's not.
*Fenris:* .....She's courting the man. With a fear reserved for dragons.
*Donnic:* Would someone please tell me what's going on?
*Fenris:* She wants you. It is pathetic... and admirable.
*Donnic:* Captain?
*Aveline:* (embarrassed laugh)

ROMANCE:
Veilguard:
*Taash:* are you trying to have sex with me?
*Rook:* [Wow.. in my daydreams this is where you'd.. lean over me and slap the wall.]
*Taash:* (Slaps wall) Quick. Think about us having sex.
Origins:
*Morrigan:* You seem so deep in thought, my dear Sten. Thinking of me, perhaps? The two of us, together at last?
*Sten:* Yes.
*Morrigan:* I... what did you say?
*Sten:* You will need armor, I think. And a helmet. And something to bite down on. How strong are human teeth?
*Morrigan:* How strong are my teeth?
*Sten:* Qunari teeth can bite through leather, wood, even metal given time. Which reminds me, I may try to nuzzle.
*Morrigan:* Nuzzle?
*Sten:* If that happens, you'll need an iron pry bar. Heat it in a fire, first, or it may not get my attention.
*Morrigan:* Perhaps it would be better if we did not proceed.
*Sten:* Are you certain? If it will satisfy your curiosity...
*Morrigan:* Yes. Yes, I think it is best.
DA2:
*Fenris:* I shouldn’t trouble you with this. My problems are not yours.
*Hawke:* [I might be able to help with your problems or give you a few more]
*Fenris:* Only a few?
*Hawke:* [The good kind.]
*Fenris:* Tempting. [You're a beautiful woman] / [handsome man], Hawke. Is there no one else who has your… attention?
*Hawke:* [I enjoy listening to you talk.]
*Fenris:* [There are few pleasures greater than speaking with a beautiful woman] / [And I enjoy a man willing to speak his mind.]
*Fenris:* I’ve never spoken about what happened to anyone. I’ve never wanted to. Perhaps this is what it means to have a friend.
*Hawke:* [It might mean more than that.]
*Fenris:* I… have never allowed anyone too close. When my markings were created the pain was… extraordinary. And the memory lingers. [But you are unlike any woman I have ever met.] / [But you are a man unlike any other, Hawke.]
*Fenris:* With you it might be different.
*Fenris:* I didn’t think I needed anyone, or wanted anyone… until now.
*Hawke:* [We could find out.]
*Fenris:* On another evening, perhaps.
BG3:
*Karlach:* Hello you. I've been waiting for this all night. Isn't it mad? How good life is?
*Tav:* [I know what you mean. When I look at you it's all I can think about.]
*Karlach:* Thank the gods. I was afraid I was the only one. Ten years is a long time to be trapped in the hells. Ten years without a kind word. A touch. When I look at you I feel real again. Alive. Gods, I want to ride you until you see stars.
*Karlach:* Ugh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't tease you. Or myself. I'd give anything to touch you. But I can't. Not until I can be sure I won't burn you.
*Tav:* [I know some magic that might help me handle your fire. Let me see...]
*Karlach:* Sleep on it, maybe. If you've thought of something by morning I'd love to know. For now it's enough just to know you care enough to try.
SORRY:
Veilguard:
*Isabela:* Sometime people say "Oops sorry" and hope that fixes it, but they just want to get the whole thing over with. Trust me I know, but pulling a Bharv you sweat a little. Make you think about it a little more shows the other person you mean it.
*Bellara:* What if they mean it when they say they're sorry though?
*Isabela:* And that's the other reason some people mess up and get all dramatic. They make it about them. "Oh you know I didn't mean it right? I'd never do that on purpose." They feel so bad about it that it's on everyone else to smooth it over and make it them feel better.
*Bellara:* Oh, oh, okay yes some people might do that.
Origins:
*Alistair:* So you... mentioned you had a son? What happened to him?
*Wynne:* I honestly don't know, Alistair. He was... taken from me. Such births are seldom, as there are ways to prevent it, but it does happen. And any child born to a Circle mage belongs to the Chantry.
*Alistair:* I... didn't know. I'm sorry.
*Wynne:* It's all right. It was a long time ago. A very long time ago.
*Alistair:* Couldn't you do something about it?
*Wynne:* Do what? I was weak from the birthing process and there were... no, there was nothing I could do.
*Alistair:* Do you think about him?
*Wynne:* All the time.
Edited for formatting And to fix Fenris' gender specific portions.
Dialogue in [Brackets] is because the dialogue is either selected/prompted by the player character, _or_ dependant on the player character's gender in Fenris' case.

These dialogues are way better than lameguard

When I finished playing the Trespasser DLC for DAI, I was fully committed to stopping Solas. I have reversed my stance. If this is what Dragon Age has come to, I welcome the destruction of Thedas.
@@spiderlily7058 totally get it
Honestly would have been interesting to have an option to side with Solas and tear down the veil lol
0:32 another thing that makes this scene so unnatural is how the characters keep referring to Taash by pronouns when she’s in the room when irl, you would probably just use her name. 😂
Gotta hammer that shit in
Them/they sounds just as dehumanizing as "it" to my ears 🤷♂️
At least they’ve done “it” before so there’s some precedence.
Shale of DAO used “it” when referring to people, and it gave her some illustration of character development when she would start saying stuff like “you.”
@@abcdefghij337shale was the OG nonbinary before she remembered she was originally a girl dwarf.
@@abcdefghij337 and Legion as well
As someone learning English, using plural they for a single non-binary person feels like the ultimate breakdown of logic-whatever non-binary is supposed to mean!"
The ironic thing is there is a companion who literally refers to Sten (the original Qunari) as "it" in Origins.
He could not care less.
(inhales deeply)
...That was awful. 🤮
🤣🤣🤣
"i'm non-binary." Well that unfortunately puts you into the category of being either binary of non-binary doesn't it?
You can absolutely absolutely tell that every last one of these characters is a self-insert - Taash has to be Busche.
And people will legitimately try to convince me that this is some of the best DA dialogue.

Whoever wrote Taash was clearly more concerned about airing out their dirty laundry than writing an actual character.
This felt alot longer than eight minutes. That was so painful, rip to your sanity.
@@ChompDude lol
One good thing about Veilguard: DA Origins raises in popularity :)
@@truewalter4193 great point!
I expect the entire writing team to pull a Barv.
She made dragons look pathetic. Because she has as much charm as rotten fish, left to smother in the sun.
@@feathercat9118 wow 🤣🤣
You put R in taash’s name and it becomes TRAASH!

All the more reason why I won't buy Veilguard due to Taash being a rude, annoying, and disrespectful big baby. She does not respect her mother and she pushes and bullies other companions around. All the cringy dialogue but Taash happens to be the worst written Dragon Age character ever.
She makes Sera seem likable by comparison.
But somehow GOTY material.
I have a feeling that will happen! Stunning and brave!
I mean, Last of Us 2 won the GOTY Award. So dont be surprised.
Jesus this has to be the worst self insert in history. Next to I am not Saphire 🙄
Idk why I found it so funny that they not only erased any potential Sera/Harding romance from history, they also hook Harding up with Sera's dream type 😂😂
Didn't Seras get with Dagna though?
@maryapple7108 oh no, you're right. She just approves of flirting with Harding, my B.
It's just the Inquisitor who can romance Harding and then apparently ghost her 😅
@@nananderson7259 Man poor Harding. To have her flirting with the Inquisitor go nowhere and having to get with the likes of Traash? Poor girl can't catch a break.

Real talk? Making a non-binary character THIS insufferable is a discredit to real people with these troubles, and past characters who did it right, like Krem.
Do you make Veilguard videos to catch that algorithm wave? If so, is it working for you?
So I’ll give ya the full backstory. Back when last of us part 2 came out, I made two videos that did exceptionally well. I grew a bunch because of it. In hindsight I should have made more stuff on it at the time to really ride that wave.
Lately, I have been experimenting with doing discussion videos on current topics, then Veilguard hit. And I figure you know what let me try some things. So all of this is me throwing out ideas and seeing what sticks, what does well. While at the same time still making videos for why all of you watch me! So far the Veilguard stuff has been doing well!

So insufferable that thumbnails of "IT" make me groan.
And the defenders say that the identity quest for Taash is only a small part of the game and fully optional, i dont believe it because im a completionist and if i want to see the bullshit secret ending, i need to do this piece of shit's quest to get a tag before the final mission that ensures she survives blah blah.
