ATV's Encounter A Huge Washout - We Are NOT Turning Around! - June 2 & 22 2013

  • Two rides in one! Started out June 2, but we couldn't cross what I think is the Colenso River/Creek because of raging high waters. Went back on June 22 and the waters had subsided. However, we then came across a giant wash-out in the road. We were not going back the same way we came from, so we broke out the portable shovel and made it kinda passable....kinda! lol Great ride!

    ANOTHER great ride. I am SO envious of you folks to have such vast areas to ride in. In NY, the state does not even recognize ATV/UTVs with the exception of registration/taxation (of course). So, I am going to ride vicariously through your videos. Keep them coming and ride safe.

    My dad has a Grizzly 660 without EPS but I still love the way it rides. You get ground clearance, great suspension, and if you want to rip it up a bit it handles it with ease.

      Nice ride your dad has Devon! Good to know the 660 has good suspension too if CK ever decides to upgrade. Thanks for watching.

    I am a 14 year old boy, around 65kg. I can control a Honda trx 420 2wd pretty easily, and they are pretty good for off roading. I have quite a bit of experience though, but my friends can control it easily within 10 minutes of riding. There are plenty of other ATV's similar to this, so something around that size or what cubbeezx said wold probably be good. Hope I helped and have fun.

    awesome ride,thanks for letting me tag along ;-)) I can`t get over the definition of your video-especially the segment where you 2 are riding side by side on the trail/road =clear,crisp,and no ripping or breakup of the video[ I watched it on the "Big Screen"
    In previous videos bot yourself and CK had GPSs mounted on your indevidual quads,this video only you had one! Is that because one is better than the other=for detail and mapping,and quicker for location
    Thank you again,real,really enjoy!

    Hey y'all have some nice trails to ride up there! Way different from down here in South Carolina. I noticed the tags on the back of the atv's can y'all register them and ride on the roads? Oh yea awesome tie downs on the trailer. Beats the heck out of Rachet straps lol

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  7 років тому

      Thanks! We are very lucky and have some great places to explore and ride. Where we live most of the land is public so you can ride just about anywhere (as long as the ATV/UTV's are registered and insured). You can even drive them on a lot of highways and town streets (depending on the local bylaws). We love our Superclamp ATV tie downs....they save so much time loading and unloading! Appreciate you stopping by and commenting.

    • @dmarv7039

      Ahh that's awesome! They are a lot stricter down here on atvs and side by sides, we have to run from the law if they catch us on the roads lol. All the land around here is privately owned and I don't like trespassing ya know. I'd love to make it up that way to ride one day or at least the Hatfield McCoy trails

    I would make sure you get one that is comfortable, 4 wheel independent suspension is the best for ride. All the quads are getting better I started with a Suzuki King quad, then 2 Polaris spotsman 500's and now have 1 Sportsman 500, and 1 Can Am 800 Outlander XT I just love my Can Am ... fuel injection and power steering and the power of a V-Twin is just awesome :) I will be replacing my 04' Sportsman wth another Can Am or Polaris 850 XP What ever you do, don't start too small or u will regret

    I'm curious about your audio. It sounds great and appears to record both sides of the conversation. How do you do that? Is it video editing after the fact or do you have both riders audio piped into your camera? Can you explain the technology, please? Thanks!

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  8 років тому +1

      +Tim Johnson We use SENA bluetooth helmet communicators and SENA makes a "backpack" for the Gopro that records the audio from both of us. We also have separate mic's but the Backpack makes editing a lot easier! You can check them out at www.sena.com Hope that helps.

    Wish I was back home in Bama. Instead I live in Florida.. and the off roading here sucks. If you're looking to go out and mud without having to pay you gotta worry about helicopters and FWC. Which still isn't very much land to ride.. and if you pay then you just mud and ride around on the same property till you get bored.. I lived in the Mountains and could ride from sun up to sun down without crossing the same trail. GOD I MISS IT

      Good eye...it has been awhile since this ride. I read the description I had written and sure enough this video involves 2 rides in one!

    You always mention that the Kodiak steers a lot easier. Does it have the EPS (electronic power steering) ? I know the 2011 Kodiak 450 can stock with the EPS in Canada. I think I can see the EPS light next to the key but I'm not sure.

      +Mark Paez Jr Hi Mark, glad you enjoy the videos! We use RAM mounts to hold the GPS, they make a cradle that will fit your exact GPS. We installed our GoPro on our chin and made a "chin mount"...it's an older video but works great..here is a link to how we made ours ua-cam.com/video/ZaGUByQ-QkM/v-deo.html Hope it helps!

      @cubbeezx  8 років тому

      +Christopher Petrolio They are PowerMadd handguards with the optional mirrors. I think they came from Royal Distributing here in Canada but can't quite remember.

    Great video again cubbeezx boy that was deep water. My friend with that 2013 grizzly 700 with the 1200 kms he just got a 2013 ktm 250 xc or something but it goes like crazy lots of power. And ck did pretty good in that duff spot with the wash out I thought you would have to help her like holding the back end. And I got my can am 1000 xmr today and boy what a ride just spines those 29.5 outlaw 2 tires I heard they have like 97 horse power or 101. And how are the zilla`s holding up?
