There is so much about this video that speaks to me. I visited Old Sarum along with many other highlights in the area when I stayed with my brother in Oxford 40 years ago!! Ralph von Williams is one of my favorite composers. And that woman singing has a beautiful voice. The book 'Sarum' commemorates the long history of Sarum as well.
As Sam Lee already knows from his extraordinary Nest Collective events, the beautiful voice and wonderful music of Alice Zawadzki should be compulsory listening! Her album 'Within You Is A World Of Spring' for example, is simply stunning.
no mention of Eleanor of Aquitaine, who was imprisoned here by husband, Henry II....from all accounts I've read, it was run down by 1170-80s when she was sent there
Why was Eleanor of Aquitaine even mentioned in this brief overview of Sarum anyway?? If you want information on that go look it up yourself! Yeah I know this comment is 3 years late, but better late than never! 😂
I wasthere in 06.. what a beautiful place, history and song..from Madrid Spain, congrats
These series are a real gift for everyone loving England 🧡
